Caelid is a Location and Region in Elden Ring. The Caelid region is located east of Limgrave. It's mainly defined by its red, corrupt environment and a great amount of undead roaming the open fields.

Caelid, known as the locale of the last battle between General Radahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is a vast land consummately marred by scarlet rot.

Elden Ring Caelid Maps and Notes

The name "Caelid" may be derived the Welsh language, as "cae" translates to "field" and "lid" translates as "inflamed" (lit. "Inflamed Field"). If the name is derived from Welsh, one would expect the name to be pronounced as /'kai̯ˌlɪd/ ("KAI-lid", rhymes with "Eyelid"), though most every character in the game pronounces the name as /'kɛi̯ˌlɪd/ ("KAY-lid", The first syllable rhyming with, "play").

Does anything coming out of the deep siofra well counts as Caelid? I think it should as I don't see anything from that route listed here.
The spiked palisade shield and the gravel stones on the way to the coliseum, the great-jar arsenal given by the big pot at the coliseum when you finish his challenge, there's also another route with a runebear guarding a stonesword key. All those things are technically Caelid even though you come out of the Deep siofra well elevator.

Oh and another thing missing is the larvar tear dropped by the troll disguised as a noble wanderer in the coffins south of the "caelid highway south" grace.

the list is missing: Ash of war : Sky shot, which is near the merchant, you have to kill the bug to get it, thank you for the work you put.

Doing a 'co-op helper' run rn. What level is most popular for caelid and redmane? Is it lvl 60 with a +10 normal weapon?

For such a hellish place, there sure are a lot of graces everywhere. Pretty much if you go around the corner you will find another grace

Anyone know the best way to kill the sleeping sorcerer giant halberd golem southeast of Rennes Rise (east of the Minor Erdtree which is south of Rennes Rise)

i can barely dent him with lvl 150 character. using an axe with all sorts of bonking bonus and antimagic incants still have me being nearly oneshot by his spells.

tonnes of health. huge alpha damage, and very hard to dodge spells that will easily oneshot you. also have to fight him on a tiny precipice.

                    not listed here

                    • List of "Regular Creatures and Enemies" is missing a link for the Giant (Monstrous) Crow that is found all over the place in Caelid. The entry IS in the Wiki database, just not linked here.

FromSoftware have had reports of poor working conditions for years now and it appears that the staff decided to pour that frustration into Elden Ring by creating Caelid, job well done I say.

                          Ah, Caelid, welcome to Romania.

Joking aside, I love this place. The monsters here killed me so many times just by looking towards me that I am not even bothered by it happening again. I find Caelid fascinating, I hope the creators of this area are proud of themselves, I know I am proud of them.

After going through it thoroughly, I actually like this area. The entire zone seems like a combination of Nurgle's Garden and the Crimson from Terraria. It's like someone took the bubonic plague, gave it a splash of red and pink, and applied it on top of a (previously) beautiful, green meadow. Everything is so delightfully horrifying and the tone is so different from the rest of the game that it makes me genuinely like this place, after conquering it, of course. Also the lore is much more interesting and dramatic compared to most of the bland crap I've seen in other parts of the game.

the wiki says the name comes from Welsh, but I'm pretty sure if comes from Latin "Caelem" for paradise.

Caelid looks pretty close, and Caelem Ruins is a location in the game.

Considering it's near the greenish Liurnia, it makes sense the area that was here was pretty aswell.

death rite bird needs to be added to the boss list. it's directly east-southeast from the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank site of grace, across the road.

Just want to agree 100% with the comment about the giant crows and dogs sucking. They really do. I try to kill one of those birds every now and again when I'm in caelid, and if you can stay near their legs and hit them with charged R2s, you will do a lot of damage and you will stagger them. The problem is actually managing to stick close to their legs in the first place. The attack with their beaks sort of sideways is fun as well, the tracking that attack has is a nightmare.

All the scarlet rot areas are themed off of real places!

                                        Caelid- Detroit
                                        Dragonbarrow- Brazil

                                        Lake of Rot- Twitter

                                        • I'm still in my first playthrough and I really just can't bring myself to do anything here. It's more than a little off-putting and I have a hard time dealing with forest-fired areas for lack of trees with leaves. This is...worse.

So is north caelid supposed to accessed after snowfield? the vulgar militia near the beast clergyman's temple drop around 1700 runes while the ones on the way to the rold lift drop around 800

                                            • Some have purported Caelid's name is derived from the Latin "caelum", meaning heaven. I think it's probably from the Welsh "Cae lid" meaning inflamed field, which fits the character of the area a lot better than "heaven", which it is anything but.

Church of the plague is spelled wrong as "church of the plauge" on this page, in the list of links, making the link not work.

                                                    • Fun fact regarding all the things named Aeonian in the rot related areas. Definition of Aeonian: *lasting for an* immeasurably or indefinitely long period of time (relating to an object rather than just a length of time). Like the word Aeon/Eon, which just means a huge/indescribably long period of time. Idk how that could possibly play into anything but I thought it was neat. I wonder if there's any ties regarding rot and eternity or possibly entropy/breaking things down into their constituent parts and lasting forever/spreading constantly. Idk, I'm high af and it sounds interesting to me and I can't think of another reason they'd have called the things related to rot Aeonian.

There is also a Somber Smithing Stone 9 to be found here, I don't remember the exact position, but after you teleport to Farum Greatbridge Site of Grace you should go and search the eastern area as there should be a scarab that has it.

This is a bit ridiculous. In this article Caelid is partially mashed with Dragonbarrow, but not fully. Meanwhile Dragonbarrow is missing a good portion of information. These 2 locations need to be clearly separated and their respective field bosses, enemies, loot etc. indicated in their information pages.

I have gone pretty thoroughly each of these locations and can say, that there are a lot of cases when this pages confuses wich location exactly contains specific enemies and treasures.

Do any NPC quests break upon exploring overworld Caelid? IE, not going into any dungeons, just picking up overworld graces and buying stuff from merchants. There really needs to be a section on every location on the wiki that warns you about NPC quests breaking when you enter.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

Reminds me of SMT V with that over-saturated colour horror feel, just obviously not nearly as fabulous as SMT and full of dread, rot and death. What a weird thing to remind me of though. Never thought I'd compare styles between those two series. FromSoft really went outside the box with this area.

                                                                    • Anonymous
