I found that with this, as well as many other enemies, the deflecting hardtear (dropped by the first furnace golem you encounter) is exceptionally useful due to guard counters. If you are familiar with sekiro style deflecting, then these enemies can actually be pretty fun to fight, even if you dont have a shield, blocking with the deflecting hardtear will minimize any damage you may take

Can be poisoned and rot. Blood weapons are also effective.
Totally immune to frost for some reason. Also immune to madness and grab attacks of any kind (as expected from a elite enemy).

Sacred element seens to do heavy damage against then, despite their weapon being faith based. One heavy hammer or collosal weapons seens capable of breaking their poise with 2 heavy attacks (+1 normal depending on weapon). They don't flinch to absolutely anything.
They also seens to take extra damage from critical hits.

They are, funnily enough, extremally weak to sleep status. A single might shot with St trina arrows will instantly cause sleep. But thy dont fall the floor, only flinch.
May be bad, but I observed they take extra poise damage in the "almost sleep" animation, a single heavy hammer attack will instantly send then flying. (yes, they dont flinch, but you can knock back then).

This led to me using the new St Trina sword to farm then. They will flinch because of sleep every 2 or 3 attacks. 2 heavys + 1 one normal will break poise. Swap to Misericorde for a free Kill.

Tested on Midras Mansion first warrior with greatsword.

Talking about Greatsword, these guys have programed attacks and they will always finish the whole movement sequence before doing the next attack. This means that as soon you figure out the timings for dodge, they become really easy to kill, even on closed of spaces.

Best enemy in the whole game and probably in the history of Souls. If you struggle at them you just suck at the game simple as.

Fighting them for the first time felt exactly like black knights from DS1. Probably the most metal enemies in the game.

all 3 versions are crazy weak to holy and resistant to fire/magic in my experiences so time to dust off siluria's tree and spam that l2

Quality Greatsword +25 with...and here's the special piece...AoW: Flame Skewer
                  Shard of Alexander
                  Golden Vow
                  Flame, Grant me Strength

With all of this I can 2 shot the dual wielder by Small Private Altar grace in Belarut.

Experiment with item discovery to increase drop rate. Helm dropped 1st time, then armor. 2/10 kills had drops.

If they flinched like Crucible Knights they'd be reasonable enemies, I think. They feel like they should flinch from big hits. As it stands, the twin sword ones have big "attack me now" openings and the big sword ones can just decide the next ten seconds are about them, actually, with their crucible attack that you have to wait out. Because they don't flinch to anything.

It feels like these guys take an abnormally high amount of ripost damage. 95% of its HP with a ripost on a keep guardian sword spear at 80 Dex and no ripost buffs

Farming them today. They drop their weapon, full armor set (helmet appears to be a rare drop but it does drop), and somber 8s.

Like others said - you better have some very high dps to cheese them down, really annoying that even jumping heavy colossal (multiple times!!!) does not flinch them ... 4-5 colossal from zweihander will poise break them but still not flinch ... this isn't normal

Not even Carian Piercer (fully charged) stops these guys. This is the case with Crucible Knights as it easily interrupts them but the horned warriors are something else entirely.

Unnecessarily overtuned, two-three taps you unless you have some sort of buff stacking, you can’t outrun them, massively inflated health pool. This could’ve been an OK mini boss like the end of a dungeon in main game. I found that you can get past them with bloodhound’s step

I love that they brought back everyone's favorite gigachad Gundyr as a normal enemy but these guys are such a prime example of ER just sometimes being more tedious than actually hard. If they have a chunky health bar and have poise out the wazoo do they really need both super long combos where they can lunge across the room AND track you insanely hard AND have WAs that can OHKO from across the other side of the room?

Hey at least they can be parried.

Is it just me, or are these guys insanely hard to parry? I tried for about 5 minutes straight with a Carian Retaliation Brass Shield, and all I managed to do was halve his damage and prevent the knockback. Not once did I ever manage to full parry/riposte his attacks.

Not a huge problem, since I'm just dodge-rolling and dueling them to death instead, but damn, I assumed they'd be like Crucible Knights and be walking partying piñatas. Even the augmented parries didn't make it all that easier.

While farming for his set, & weapon, I found he dropped a Somber Smithing Stone 8 & 9, during that time. I used the one patrolling by Small Private Altar site during my collecting, so if you need a few stones to try out the DLC’s arsenal, give it a whirl.

istg the Greatsword version of these ****s are harder than Messmer on NG+7 I did the snake man 3 try's yet they have managed to kill me at least 9-10 times every time I encounter them.

I like a challenge but these Greatsword-wielding troglodytes are just annoying.
