Status Effects in Elden Ring covers information regarding the different status effects that are obtained by both players and NPCs. Status effects can be beneficial or harmful to both parties which then applies different buffs or negative effects that can aid a player or enemy in battle. This page contains a full list of all the Status Effects in the game. Inflicting an Effect to an Enemy is usually used to gain some kind of advantage against them.

These effects seem to have a better chance to be inflicted to an Enemy when you perform a sneak attack onto them.
