Ash-of-War Scarab protects the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.

The Ash-of-War Scarab Helm can be found at Stormveil Castle: Behind the waygate on the Limgrave Tower Bridge that takes you to the Divine Tower of Limgrave on a broken section of the bridge.
