Ash-of-War Scarab is a Helm in Elden Ring. Ash-of-War Scarab isn't part of any set. It's a grey scarab that is worn directly on the head. Ash-of-War Scarab protects the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.
Gray scarab worn directly on the head.
These scarabs roll clumps of Ashes of War during their labors.
Slightly reduces the FP cost of skills, but increases damage taken.
Where to find Ash-of-War Scarab in Elden Ring
The Ash-of-War Scarab Helm can be found at Stormveil Castle: Behind the waygate on the Limgrave Tower Bridge that takes you to the Divine Tower of Limgrave on a broken section of the bridge. Do not take the waygate after the golems, and instead drop down behind it to access this item and a Soft Cotton. [Elden Ring Map Link]

These scarab hats are just dumb. Give up an armour slot to INCREASE your received damage, in exchange for what is bluntly a very minor boon? And it's a stupidly heavy helmet as well, considering. Sure the resistances are good, but with drawbacks like that you'd expect the ability to be absolutely spectacular- but a mere 15% FP cost reduction for skills only?!

Carian Filgreed Crest, Ash of War Scarab, Sword of Milos. If I did the math correctly this means you can use Holy Ground forever as long as you kill a target with a backstab or backstab and get a kill.
Basically free healing forever for you and your co-op friends. Use this information for your own pleasing : )

kinda situational since weapon arts dont usually take too much fp (imo they should change that to make mind more relevant)

Am I wrong, or does this kind of suck? 15% reduced FP cost might get you 1-2 extra casts of your weapon art. Really does not seem worth it, considering the weight and damage taken increase, especially mid/lategame where everything starts hitting like a truck.

It should be noted that when the FP reduced by this item is not a whole number it is rounded DOWN to the nearest whole number. This is done PER % reducing item. FOR EXAMPLE: say a weapon art cost 25FP and you stack this item (-15%) with the CARIAN FILIGREED CREST (-25%) you do not get a 40% reduction in cost. Because it calculates them both separately and rounds down you end up with a 36% reduction instead.
FP cost of 25
-25% is -6.25
-15% is -3.75
both of those are rounded down and the final FP reduction is 9 (36%) and NOT 10 (40%)

In game description says "increases recovery effects of the cerulean tears flask". It does not say it reduces fp cost of spells

Theres a typo on this where shows "Vitality2"6 Underlined and linked to Vitality

Whenever I get invaded with my friend we switch to these hats and put on the talisman then bloodhound step around them for 7 whole mana flasks, just to spread awareness of how busted that ash is. In a 20 minute invade neither of us got hit a single time in melee range.

It increases damage taken by roughly 10%, because it increases damage taken by 5-6% by itself depending on the damage type, but similarly heavy helms would reduce damage again by around 4-5%.

Literally does nothing to lower the cost of Bloodhound's Step. Even with the Crest talisman I can only get it down to 4 FP, and I can do that without the scarab at all. Kinda disappointed considering the step is just about the only AoW I use.

Whoever found this, good bloody job. I thought for sure that section was a death drop.

For a WA FP usually 15/20,
Scarab alone 13/17 (13/15% reduction)
Crest alone 12/15 (20/25% reduction)
Both = 10/13 (33%/35%)

Location is behind the waygate on the Limgrave Tower Bridge that takes you to the Devine Tower of Limgrave on a broken section of the bridge. The FP reduction stacks with the Carian Filigreed Crest for about a 33% reduction, 15 FP skill went down to 10 with both equipped.
Had no idea this even had an increase dmg taken/reduce fp cost thing, I just found it, put it on, and loved it immediately. I love my scarab friend and his bouncy wings, he will stay on forever.
