Good helm, but as you get further into the game and have more base points in arcane, the one arcane you get with this helmet isn't really worth it due to diminishing returns. Blood Rot Builds are really strong so arcane is a good stat, plus it increases item find, but there are just better helmets that offer more defense than this and personally I'd value the armor and resistances over it.

In character creation I went with a female confessor. For a drop dead stunning fashion statement and a look every tarnished will envy, this mask worn with the rest of the scaled armour is hard to beat when it comes to looking good on your quest to become the next elden lord. So if you take pride in your appearance and like to be well dressed while battering the bloody fingers or fighting Margit for a third time is your thing, this mask with scaled armour is where its at.

I understand that the 1 added point in arcane adds to item descoverability, but I see that there is a white clawfoot buff icon added when this is equipped. Is this real, or a visual bug?

I don't know if it's a bug, or if there's something I'm missing but when I equip this mask I get an item discovery buff (or at least it says I do).....anyone else notice this as well?

I’ve noticed something odd with this helm. While equipped, I receive 20% more runes from kills by Bloody Slash (I have it on the Godskin Peeler with occult scaling).

"Marais Mask protect the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters." This whole section could just be removed, it doesn't add anything. This is the kind of info that might be useful to someone who has never played a video game before.

I found this to the immediate west of Shaded Castle Ramparts in the Altus Plateau. Marais will invade next to a golem.
