This talisman not being nerfed in PvP (and carian filigree not having a downside like primal glintblade) is proof that L2den Ring was Miyazaki's true vision.

This should've just been a physical scorpion charm or simply gave 5%~ extra phys damage. Instead it is a mandatory requirement giving 30-90 levels worth of extra damage to your L2's (depending on your softcap), further enforcing the spam of L2's.

How do you know a talisman is great?

Scrolling thru 9000 fextra life builds and then forgetting why you are scrolling down..

          • Anonymous

Does this boost the charged heavy attacks from ashes like Braggart's Roar and Godfrey's Axe or is that what the Roar Medallion is for?

Ok, I was fighting Alex today for this shard, and he was immune to all my fire damage! Immune to dragonfire, immune to fire pots, I made sure to test all the fire weaponry I had, because I had never noticed this before! Am I the dumb one, or has anyone else just noticed this?

For those crying nerf, stop. You only prove your lack of knowledge. Play streets of rage or something. People like you are why the most unique, interesting and a blast to use without other buffs. ROB rest in peace. May all those that whined about it will get theirs soon enough. Whiners make me sick.

Love how many build videos this talisman is attached to. You are straight up nerfing whatever build you are using if you don't have this equipped. Definitely the most OP item in the game.

This talisman boosts the damage output of AOW's that directly hit an enemy. Flame of Redmanes, Storm Caller, Bloody Slash, etc.. to name a few examples. To the best of my knowledge and after very minimal testing it does not increase the effectiveness of self-buffs or weapon buffs like Golden Vow or Royal Knight's Resolve.

It states that this talisman drops when you complete Alexander's questline, which I did, but I got the Warrior Jar Shard.

This can be a godsend for a lot of the crappier weapon arts that really lack damage like rosus axe, nox flowing sword, and earthshaker

It is bugged for holy dmg ashes of war.

Unblockable Blade, Wave of Gold and many others are NOT buffed by this talisman in PvP.

Realized I could grab this JUST before Maliketh, unbelievably excellent talisman. Most others will give you +30 AR or +120 to certain spell/incants; this baby is a straight up +350 damage to my FAI/DEX(/str)AoWs.

Wonder if this impacts skills that are weapon buffs (sacred Blade etc) or probably not the weapon buff - just the initial damage?

FS fixed the interaction with watchdog staff. This, jar shard, and spellblade set can actually boost the skill damage now.

So the dragoncrest talismans get completely shunted in pvp but this crap gets to keep its entire 15% boost?
                                    Sounds balanced.

So the page says it's a 15% increase to the physical damage of your weapon skill, does this mean it won't effect ancient lightning spear from Bolt of gransax which does 100% lightning damage?

From need to turn down its numbers in pvp. Maybe do it like what they did with the shield talismans/ ring of iron protection. Like 15% increase in pve and 5% increase in pvp.

Needs a negative attribute. Pvp oneshots should not be that easy to achieve withought ridiculous min/maxing.

Its just a huge damage upgrade for no downside... sacred scorpion charms makes you take more damage, dancer charm makes you go light weight, and this is just free damage. Pls buff the other charms from

                                            • Anonymous

Damage buffs historically come at such a premium in From games that they're very often not worth it. The Spear Talisman (Leo Ring) enhances only one physical damage type and only in extremely specific and not very well-explained contexts. The Scorpion charms (Clutch Rings) enhance a specific elemental type by a teeny tiny amount while also destroying your own defenses by a much, much more substantial amount. The Dusk Crown and Blindfold Mask also offered only tiny boosts to magic/dark damage at the cost of 30% absorption and being very poor armor defensively besides.

So this talisman being a no-strings-attached 15% boost to any and all damaging L2 buttons which are already absurdly powerful is, well, ridiculous. From a gameplay perspective, easily one of the best talismans, if not the absolute best. From a balance standpoint... it could stand to have a downside.

At least Fromsoft have the compassion to give as a great talisman to make up for having to kill one of the best npcs in the game. (RIP Iron Fist Alexander, i will never forget you)

I am glad this item is so late game. I shutter at the thought this being in the inventory of a lvl 75 invader...

                                                  • **** you and your nerf bullshit. Nerf yourself. Every ****ing cool thing in this game has been nerfed. How about you go take a nerf up the *******.

                                                    • Anonymous

should be nerfed to 8% in pvp, and 6% for the normal jar shard. it would still be broken, but stop things like gransax and glintstone pebble from oneshotting most of the time

                                                      • Anonymous

this thing is the biggest crutch ever.
it provides a FREE 15% boost across the board, in PVP and PVE, to skills that already very powerful, whereas the scorpion charms provide a measly 8% damage boost for ONE elemental damage type in pvp with a WHOPPING 15% damage penalty, and 12%/10% in PVE.
why are rings and talismans in these games always so unbalanced? when there is only a small handful of talismans that are featured in every single build no matter the build, that ignore the plethora of other ones, you know you did not balance the game properly. seriously what is the point of even having them in the game at all when most of them are far outclassed?
there should be a talisman tier system in the game, where you get 2, or maybe more, talisman slots reserved for specific tiers. idk how the best way to balance this would be, but its a good idea bc it would force players to make sacrifices and real builds.
say for example we have the traditional 4 talisman slots, but one of them is reserved for only high tier talismans, so you can only have 1, and in that tier you would have things like crimson+2, shard of alexander, erdtree+2, powerful talismans like that, and the other 3 slots reserved for whatever else.
also balance the scorpion charms to give +15% elemental damage for +15% physical damage taken, or maybe 10% or 12% seeing how Elden Ring has much higher damage numbers from previous titles.
this item i think perfectly encapsulates why this game ****ing sucks.

I hope someone can help: For some reason, this quest is bugged for me. I beat Radahn, but the NPC doesn't appear. I tried backtracking and checking forward in the questline, and nothing. What can I do?

                                                              • Anonymous

Doesn't seem to affect Royal Knight's Resolve, at least not that I could see. I tested a giant's crusher on the land squirts in agheel and thought I got more damage, but it was likely just the unaware or sneak bonus. Makes sense balance-wise.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

I can confirm that you get the talisman even when he is bugged at Radahns Warfield. I tried out everything: reload, rest at grace, finishing the questline in jarburg, attacking him and go to the popes church to reset his hostile status... I also was on every next area he should be (Gelmir, Farum Azula), nothing helped - I just killed him and he dropped the Shard for me.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

I am in NG+6 currently. I am still playing in patch version 1.2 I don't know if that affects this tip. Shard of Alexander will increase rune multiplier. At mogwyn palace rune farm. With no accessories I get 5001k per kill at this site. With golden scarab it goes up to 6009k per kill. Then I add the shard of Alexander it goes up to 7212k per kill. Finally with pickled fowl feet it goes up to 9375k per enemy with wave of gold skill from the sacred relic sword. Is this known? I don't see anyone mentioning this in any videos or forums.

                                                                          • So, something i noticed, as a bit of a lore type thing, you can only get this after the fire-giant, unless you glitch out to farum azur, otherwise Alexander drops the warrior jar shard. During the fight in farum azur he can now use fire based attacks, and the description says that there seems to be the remains of a red-haired champion inside him now, so it seems to imply that after your fight with the giant, Alexander took some of the giant inside him to gain more power. Nice bit of storytelling without actually stating it outright, i think.

                                                                            • Anonymous

After testing on omens it seems to not affect weapon art ashes of war. At least not the passive holy/ fire/ or magic damage only the ash of war itself the actual (L2). Not worth it unless you spam your ash of war.

                                                                              • Anonymous
