- collect all the books, cure the sick shrimp
- after getting them, you will have one last chance to talk to Moore after you answer him: "Put it Behind You". After that talk to him again(don't turn off the game, don't teleport), you should get the final 7th book. I hope this helps.
(I don't know if plunging him into sadness will have the effect again, I haven't checked that.)

I got it when I only had 1, 2, 4 and 5 so like others have said you definitely don’t need all of them.

oh great.. i didn't see 4 until way after I broke the rune and talked to him. now he isn't there anymore.
I don't think it should be that easy to miss a cookbook

I got this cookbook while I only had found 2 foragers. I think the trigger is to heal the one in scadu altus

Moore gave me the 7 cookbook after finding 2,4, and 5. I didn’t collect all of them. He thanked me for helping the brood.

Because I definitely have this one [7], but Im missing the number 3 book.

i say "this is a sadistic quest that punishes the player for exploring in the 'wrong' places"

You actually get this after healing a forager brood pest with a warming stone. I collected all the cookbooks after entering Shadow Keep but was locked out of this. In NG+ I went to Moore and he didn't give me it until I'd healed the pest

The expansion heavily rewards exploring (scadutree fragments, hidden pathways, vertical areas, etc) but locking you out of NPC dialogue/quests just because you wanted to unlock the grace at the Shadow Keep entrance seems like a huge oversight. Miquella's charm should have broken when you kill the Golden Hippo instead of daring to just walk up to the entrance. Now I missed out on this item, and some unique interactions with other NPC's. Bummer.

Make sure you get this before approaching the Shadow Keep. Once Miquella's charm was broken Moore talked to me one more time and forever disappeared from the game. By the time I was aware this cookbook even existed I was long past permanently locked out of getting it.

Moore completely disappeared from my game sometime after Miquella's charm broke. Where can I find this now? Am I just locked out of this book until NG+?

You get it from moore after healing the forager brood that gives you 4, if you go to moore after healing it he gives you 7 and then you can go back and get book 4

I got this book from Moore. I don't know what the trigger is, but I found books 1-5 before the rune shattered and talked to him. So either finding 5 Foragers and their books or healing the one near the church. After the shattering he asks me the question, but also says that he will be my friend no matter what, so I think this is the way to make him not fight you.

North of Church of the Crusade in Scadu Altus. Injured. I healed it with a warming stone and it gave me the book. Spell heals will probably work too.
This should still spawn in Moore's initial location or be dropped by him later if he's already moved and you fulfill the requirements afterwards. Very silly that it can be permanently missed simply by randomly walking to the wrong part of the map.
