Red Bear's Claw is a Beast Claw in Elden Ring. It was added with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Red Bear's Claw scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon that deals damage fast and inflicts Hemorrhage.

Claw of a great red bear wielded without modification by Red Bear, whose name is lost to madness.

After killing the great red bear in a blood-soaked bout, he became fascinated by the untainted glory of its naked strength.
"I wish to be a bear, no more, and no less."

Where to Find Red Bear's Claw in Elden Ring

I saw a comment about someone hating the ash of war on this thing and I have to say I couldn’t disagree more. You can absolutely shred things with it. Just takes a bit of timing and positioning with more jumpy bosses like Maliketh. The regular attacks have extreme forward momentum too which makes it easier to fight bosses like him. And in PvP the moveset is very fast and can catch people easily, while the ash deletes players who eat the whole combo.

      • Anonymous

Insanely powerful weapon, spamming its ash of war applies bleed ultra fast, imo the best bleed applier in the game against bosses, just dodge a bit and spam its weapon art, because its very fast and hits multiple times per cast and most importantly is SUPER cheep

        • Anonymous

          TIL:
-heavy charge cancel by using dodge button counts as a backstep
-backstep + light attack lunges extremely far forward
-"we have bloodhounds fang at home" by heavy charge cancel -> dodge -> light attack

          • Anonymous

normal r1's must be bugged. The damage is extremely low. I have 600 ar with these but a r1 hits for 200 lmao(yes both hits combined of 1 r1)

            • Anonymous

If you didn't know, while you charging a heavy attack with the claws, if you do a backstep it will do a special fall back attack creating a good amount of distance. Pretty cool weapon in my opinion

              • Anonymous

I just want my female character with max muscle and hair sliders using these bear claws to be real irl, why is there no god

                • Anonymous

Pretty solid moveset for managing positioning and spacing, plus the weapon skill is good for doing lots of damage without moving if you can't afford to flail around.
Same rules as fist weapons - light attacks for light enemies, heavies against "elite" type enemies where stronger hitstun is needed. Make judicious use of the R2 charge-dodge to manage spacing and avoid attacks.

My only real complaint would be lack of hitstun on the skill, but the multi hit and bleed is strong enough I don't really mind relegating it to being a punish against big attacks or knockdowns.

Deals roughly 230 damage per swing in PvP at 80 STR at +9 with what feels like less poise damage than a caestus. Weapon art hits hard if you can land all 3 swings but without any hyper armor don't expect to use it for trading hits.

                    • Anonymous

I can't figure out how I'm doing it, but there's a special animation where he swipes forward with the claw once and then swoops backward. I'm pressing dash+heavy attack while spamming the stick in a direction, but it's inconsistent. It's not a back step attack. It seems useful for zoning.

                      • Anonymous

Just wanna add, it absolutely does not deal **** damage, the numbers are a bit deceptive because it pretty much hits twice for every blow, so double those
And the weapon arts wind hits several times per blow making it apply bleed fast

                        • Anonymous

I tried using this on Malenia and it racked up so much damage I could hardly bear to watch. It was a grisly scene

                          • I used this on Colosseum PVP to test it out and my opponent was surprisingly backhand blade user. *Ah sht, here we go again* I traded blows with him and he almost ended me with brutal bleeding fast swords (perhaps his poise is greater since I only used medium drip armor), my remaining HP was probably 1 or 2 since there was so little can be screen in the screen lol. But this bear's saved my ass with that swift wind slashings. The best comeback ever (at least for me). Gotta give huge credit for Masha's bear.

To do the backflip move make sure you press AND hold doge right before pressing R2. This weapon is peak. I never liked the DS3 dragon transformation but this plus other gear to combine it with make me feel like a Runebear without a bunch of drawbacks.

This favorite DLC weapon so far! And discovering them on my blind playthrough was such a cool experience. I keep saying im done with bleed but bleed is obviously not done with me lol.

The L2 eats through Malenia's health and stun locks her to **** btw. Yes you have to be on her ass and have good timing/spacing to do it but that makes it feel balanced. I imagine with the mimic tear it would have been a one-sided mobbing which I will try next time lol. Between these and hand to hand I already got all my major DLC wishes granted plus I have more to discover. I just hope it doesn't get nerfed in PVE.

                                • Anonymous

Everyone thinking of using this item please note... This is probably the single best Mimic Tear weapon out there. Your Mimic tear will mimic the extremely hyper aggressive Ai of the npc that uses this. Make sure to duel wield these, have boiled crab, golden vow consumable and blood grease on your hot bar then summon your mimic. And you'll have something strong enough to 1v1 quite a few of these dlc bosses. It's really quite insane.

It's quite strong with 80 str, multihit talismans, the new bloodsucking crystal tear, the armor of raksasha and 25 faith for golden vow.

I also like godskin swaddling cloth while the tear is active so I get some hp back quickly. Also blessing of the erdtree is nice with flame Grant me strength for extra buffs. It's honestly a really fun way to play, while also being powerful

Finally I can upgrade my build!

From naked with the grafted dragon: "Bare witness"

To this and the armor set: "Bear witness"

                                      (side note: bearglove! POWERRRRRRR)

worse than the beast claw in damage, Ash of war does less damage than beast claws default ash while costing more FP. can not be buffed or infused, or change ash of war.

only reason i can think of why anyone would use this over the beast claw is it looks better, but its worse in every other way

It looks like this would have range problems, but it really doesn't due to how much mobility there is on just about every attack this has. Starting from the same spot, a heavy attack with this will hit further away than a heavy with a greatsword.

The one exception is the special attack, which feels kinda sluggish compared to the rest of the moveset and can be hard to hit.

Can't be infused with stuff like Bloodflame Blade, sadly. Makes it seem not very useful, but would be happy to be proven wrong! Really wanna make them work.

Anyone have a clue where these are? It's the one weapon I want to try out but with my luck the final boss of the DLC drops them...

All these comments.. and not even one mention of this being literally a weapon from Team fortress 2? Guess the heavy got his update on the wrong game...

Red Bear's Claws = Warrior's Spirit, infuse with that hp drain ability and you can cosplay as heavy TF2...

So Red Bear fights The Red Bear and Red Bear wins. After Red Bear defeats The Red Bear he admired the strength of The Red Bear, thought "He's just like me fr!" and decided to LARP as The Red Bear. Bear/10 backstory.
