These are actually pretty sick in your off-hand, especially with a slower or more stationary weapon. Right now I'm using it with a Great Katana in my right hand, using one L1 to close distance with the claw and following up with almost no recovery with the 1H Great Katana R1. The combo is really fast, and allows me to reposition easily mid-attack chain by doing another L1.

In PvE, the damage seems low for how long attack animations last. It also takes more skill to free-aim these. My other weapons were serving me noticably better.

Moveset is really good for closing distance and promotes a hyper aggressive playstyle, makes the lack of range you'd usually expect from claws a non-issue in most cases. My weapon of choice for the final boss it helped greatly as it feels you're constantly getting pushed away, damage was ok but it makes up for it with the rapid moveset + natural bleed buildup

As a hand to hand fan I really want to like this weapon but claws and fist does the same amount of dps with a both quicker and safer moveset, they really need to change how the light attacks works, doing the 2nd light followup is asking to get hit by anything that doesn't get staggered

Best weapon type of the DLC . So fun to use , the ashes of war are awesome, quick moveset and you can decimate anyone in a mere few hits because they attack so many times per imput .

If you hold roll a while doing a charged heavy attack you get a unique heavy that sends you backwards, on bloodhound fang style, you can chain it after your light attack and comes as fast as your 2nd light attack follow, I think that there is no other weapon in the entire game that has something similar lol

You can get one east/southeast of first sight of grace

There's a regular beast claw (just called Beast Claw) you can get pretty much immediately --- there's a dude wandering the forest to the east-ish/south-eastish of the first site of grace and he drops them. Uses regular smithing stones to upgrade and has innate bleed (45).

Please please please give us a lobster/crab claw weapon. Big claw right hand, small claw left hand. Give it a moveset where you swipe a few times with the small claw followed by a big right claw swipe. An AoW where the R1 performs a big claw snapping motion and an R2 that makes your character do the lobster sniper water spit.

The smallest weapon category is Balistas with 2, followed by Reapers, Heavy Thrusting Swords, and Great Bows with 4.

I doubt there would be any fewer than 4 beast aw weapons, so it's safe to say the other weapons could probably be dragon claws, crow/hawk claws, and maybe wolf claws or the leonine lion claws?

Wouldn't be surprised if they add a striking damage claw that is violent punching like those dark beasts from bloodborne or manus from ds1
