Melee Users
To effectively defeat Red Bear as a melee character in Elden Ring, focus on utilizing your agility and maintaining distance when necessary. Red Bear is extremely fast during attacks but relatively slow when moving towards you, giving you time to prepare for its next move. As Red Bear approaches, be ready to anticipate its attacks.
One of Red Bear's most common moves is the two-claw combo, where it slashes from left to right. As the fight progresses, this combo adapts into a four-hit sequence, adding upward and downward slashes. Its most powerful attack is the Bear Roar, where it takes out the head of Ralva the Great Red Bear, causing high damage in a wide area twice. This attack is dangerous, so keep your distance when you see it being prepared.
The key to defeating Red Bear is to match its agility and time your attacks perfectly. After each combo, Red Bear pauses for a split second, providing a brief window for you to counterattack. Use this opportunity to land a few hits before retreating. A good strategy is to lure Red Bear towards you, letting it chase you until you are within range to attack quickly. This tactic often breaks its poise, allowing you to deliver multiple attacks. However, remain observant and cautious, as Red Bear can counter your attacks effectively.

Ironically, the Beast Claws absolutely wreck him. They'll flinch him out of pretty much any attack he makes, especially when using their default AoW.

Is his bear cloak in the game? I was awfully disappointed with the armor set he dropped compared to his figure.

Thank God, I thought this was gonna be a 'Champion of Radagon' version of a Rune Bear.
His damage has a bleeding effect. His skill 4 claws combo can "1 shot" you (because of the stun) in 2-3 succession. Overall this boss is satisfying to fight, especially if you're into parrying. He's very fast but also there are a few hit that has weird delays. If you missed it you'll be dead in mere 1-2 seconds.
