Godrick the Grafted, also known as Godrick the Golden, is a Demigod Boss in Elden Ring. This Elden Ring Godrick the Grafted Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat Godrick easily, as well as boss stats and lore for Godrick. Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. Shardbearers drop their own unique Great Rune and Remembrance capable of being transformed into powerful Weapons, Spells, Ashes of War, and Talismans for the player.
Godrick is an optional boss, and doesn't need to be defeated in order to advance in Elden Ring. You can advance to Liurnia of the Lakes without defeating him by following the path north from Stormhill Shack, then dropping down to the west from the broken bridge and walking along the outside of the castle. However, Godrick is a shardbearer, and two of the five available shardbearers must be defeated before entering Leyndell, Royal Capital.
A lowly Tarnished, playing as a lord.
I command thee, kneel! I am the lord of all that is golden!

Negations (or Absorptions)
The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.
Resistances
- Poison: 318 / 416 / 706 / 1163
- Scarlet Rot: 318 / 416 / 706 / 1163
- Hemorrhage: 318 / 416 / 706 / 1163
- Frostbite: 318 / 416 / 706 / 1163
The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

Godrick the Grafted Fight Strategy
The Best Tips for Godrick the Grafted:
- Be mindful of his combo attacks, and don't run in unless you see a clear opening
- Use the arena to your advantage: there are many trees, pillars, and rocks that can help keep Godrick off your back. Just be careful to always return to the open center so you don't get cornered yourself.
- Godrick is weaker to physical damage than elemental damage. Rock Sling is a good option for Intelligence builds, while Faith builds can use Bestial Sling
- When using fist-type weapon, aim for sides of Godrick or perform jump attacks, as hitbox may not connect if hits are for the front.
- Rotten Stray ashes are very good against him, as the Scarlet Rot that the dog inflicts is boosted over other rot sources such as Rotten Breath.
Melee Users
Bide Your Time: The safest (but slowest) strategy for Godrick is to stay outside the range of his weaponry as much as possible, and only try to get in damage when he does one of his many punishable attacks. Stormcaller is best for this: when he starts spinning up a cyclone, get close enough to tempt him into a Storm Assault, then run behind him and get in a few hits until he recovers. Axe Lunge, Jumping Slam, and the fifth attack in Fury Swings also have long recovery times that you can punish. Once you get to phase 2, you'll also be able to punish all of his fire-breathing attacks as long as you stay close enough to get to his side before you get roasted. This strategy is particularly good for heavy weapons, which can use jump attacks or charged heavy attacks to build up Stance damage and get in critical hits.
Stick Close: A riskier but quicker strategy is to stay right up next to him. This will limit how many different attacks he does, but also means you'll need to learn the precise timings to dodge or block the remainder. But once you learn those timings, you can get in hits during the frequent delays while he's winding up attacks, as well as jump attacks when he uses Lesser Command in phase 1 and I Command Thee, Kneel! in phase 2. This strategy is particularly good for weapons that inflict status effects, since it'll let you get in more frequent quick attacks.
Magic and Ranged Users
Distraction: Summons are very useful to distract Godrick, but he hits hard so it's important to choose a summon that can survive his assault. Spirit Jellyfish Ashes is a good option due to its high defense and immunity to shockwaves. While your summons keep Godrick from rushing you down, you can attack him from afar. Once he notices you, keep backing off until your summons catch his attention again.
Circle and Strafe: Keep moving as much as you can. Try to stay towards his sides and back, out of his line of sight, and start casting or firing as he's finishing his attacks so that you can start moving again once he's back in action. Remember that running is often quicker and more stamina-efficient than rolling when evading his attacks with long windups that cover a lot of area.
Attacks & Counters
Attack | Description | Counter |
Axe Swing | Swings his axe in various directions. There's sometimes a long delay between when he raises his axe and when he actually swings it | Roll out of the way or block with a shield. Because of the frequent delays, try to only start rolling when you see the axe begin to move towards you. If you learn which attacks have a long delay, you can get in a cheeky hit before he swings |
Arm Swing | Swings his left arm in various directions. In phase 2, his arm will have a dragon head, giving it substantially more reach and damage | Roll out of the way or block with a shield |
Axe Lunge | Pulls his axe back, then thrusts it a long way forward into the ground | Roll to the side when you see his feet leave the ground |
Roll | Rolls to the side and immediately readies another attack. The roll itself doesn't do any damage, but it will allow Godrick to quickly reposition himself | Move away from the direction of the roll to avoid getting caught by the follow-up |
Dragging Slash | Drags his axe along the ground to his right, creating sparks, then slashes it forward | Roll to his left when you see the dragging start to avoid getting hit by the slash |
Jumping Slam | Holds his axe sideways with both hands, then jumps into the air and slams down to the ground | Move away when you see him grab the axe, or roll when you see him begin to fall |
Lesser Command | Raises his axe with the head pointing down, slams it into the ground creating a large shockwave, then pushes it down again after a brief delay creating another shockwave | The easiest option is to run away when you see him raising his axe to begin this move. However, if you start jumping when you see the axe start falling and again when you see his shoulders rise, you can get in some extra damage with jump attacks |
Fury Swings | Holds his axe in front of his face, draws it back, then swings it five times: first counterclockwise, then quickly clockwise, then counterclockwise upwards, then twice downwards | Either run away during the windup, or dodge each swing and use the long delays after the last four to hit him in between. If you do the latter, make sure to count the swings so you know when they'll be fast and when they'll be slow |
Stormcaller | Swings his axe around in circles, surrounding himself with a cyclone that reflects projectiles and knocks back the player. This attack and its followups are imbued with flame during phase 2 |
Back away as soon as you see his axe start to lift and prepare for the follow-up move. Don't use projectiles during this attack, since they'll just bounce off. |
Storm Assault | Rolls once to the sides before leaping into the air and swinging his axe counterclockwise as he descends. | Run behind him while he's in the air and get in a few hits while he swings and recovers |
Storm Blade | Digs his axe into the ground, then pulls it out shooting out blasts of wind that curve towards your position. | Wait for the attack to turn, then move in the opposite direction to make sure it doesn't hit you |
Sever Arm | Once Godrick hits 60% health or less, he'll chop off his own arm, initiating a cutscene. You can get hurt if you're near him. He'll gain increased defense during this. | Despite the damage reduction, this attack is a safe opportunity to get in some extra hits, as long as you stay away from his arm. Take this opportunity to build up statuses like Bleed. |
Phase 2 | ||
Sweeping Flame | His dragon arm breathes a long stream of fire, sweeping the area in front of him. He will always use this attack in the beginning of Phase 2. | The fire has very long range, but his back and sides are completely unprotected during this attack. Run up beside him and get in some hits. If you have to dodge through the stream of fire, do so as close to the mouth of the dragon as possible so the stream is at its narrowest |
Striding Flame | His dragon arm breathes fire in a straight line as he walks forward. | Run to his sides and get in a few hits, but be aware that the flame can sometimes persist behind him as he walks |
Grab | His dragon head opens its mouth and then lunges at you after a brief delay. If it connects, he'll grab you, then slam you on the ground while breathing fire. | Roll forward or to the left when you hear the dragon roar, or when you see its head opening its mouth. |
I Command Thee, Kneel! | Raises the axe with its head pointing down, then slams it into the ground twice in quick succession creating small shockwaves, then once more after a second's pause creating a much larger shockwave | As for Lesser Command, running away is the easiest strategy. It's risky to go for jump attacks the first two hits because they're so quick, but you can jump the third one as his foot touches the ground and the axes begin to descend |
Bear Witness! | Plunges his dragon arm into the ground, drags it in a circle around him, then thrusts it upwards, raining fire in front of him | Run behind him while he's twirling around, but be careful of getting too close since the dragon head will hurt if it hits you |
Elden Ring Godrick the Grafted Notes & Other Trivia
- Voice Actor: Ramon Tikaram
- Soundtrack: Godrick the Grafted
- Like in case of any boss with phases separated by cutscene, cooperators are not moved like host. Therefore it is recommended for co-op buddies to move to center of the arena during arm chopping to score few hits at the start of 2nd phase.
- Cut content stated that Gostoc is the son of Godrick, and was thus an eligible ruler of Stormveil and Limgrave other than Nepheli.
Another had Godrick reciting a speech about his forces returning to their home, bathed in rays of gold. - Game-wise, this boss is treated as 1 encounter instead of 2 as it is more common in case of bosses where phases are separated by cutscene.
- Also, phase transition seems to not reset Poison and Scarlet Rot if it is inflicted.
- Same goes for his Stance
- Bug (very hard to trigger in co-op, impossible when solo): If players manage to synchronize riposte after stance break with non-riposte hit that triggers phase transition, transition itself can be skipped.

Lend me thy strength, o kindred.
Deliver me unto greater heights.

A lowly Tarnished,
playing as a lord.
I command thee, kneel!
I am the lord of all that is golden!
During Fight (Phase 1):
Defeating player:
Lowly Tarnished... Thou'rt unfit even to graft...
Second Phase Transition:
Ahh, truest of dragons.
Lend me thy strength…
Nnngh!
Forefathers, one and all…
Bear witness!
During Fight (Phase 2):
Defeating player:
Great Godfrey, did'st thou witness?
This strength is mine! (Only in 1.00 version)
After Fight:
...I am Lord of all that is Golden....
...And one day, we'll return together...
...To our home, bathed in rays of gold...
Godrick the Grafted Lore
Godrick the Grafted is the ruler of Stormveil Castle, and is one of the first demigods and shardbearers that players can fight. He is a descendant of Godfrey and thus born of the golden lineage. He is possibly the descendant of Godwyn, due to his heritage and the fact that Mohg and Morgott were locked away Omen. Despite his golden lineage, Gideon and Kenneth Haight believe him to be weak and unworthy to rule. Much of Godrick's power comes from the arms and legs of soldiers he's grafted onto himself, and especially the dragon head grafted onto his left arm during the second phase of his fight. His knights and soldiers wear armor that bears emblems of the golden lineage: a two-headed war-axe and the beast regent, Serosh.
- Enia describes Godrick as the weakest of the demigods, stating "The demigods are each and all the direct offspring of Queen Marika. Godrick the Grafted was but a distant relation... The runt of the litter, his divine blood sorely diluted."

Enia
The demigods are each and all the direct offspring of Queen Marika. Godrick the Grafted was but a distant relation... The runt of the litter, his divine blood sorely diluted".
White Mask Varre
Challenge Godrick the Grafted, lord of Stormveil, to acquire a Great Rune. Decrepit, he may be, but a demigod he remains. And of course, an inheritor of a Great Rune.
Worse yet, I hear old Godrick's acquired a ferocious new toy to graft... So. Prepare for the worst.
Gatekeeper Gostoc
What a pathetic excuse for a Lord you were. Craven to the bone. Pushing me about like that. And after all that grafting? Where did that get you? Look down on me, would you? Godrick? You filthy slug. Feel it! Feel it! Feel my bloody wrath!
Kenneth Haight
Hmph, yes, now allow me to furnish you with a little advice. I would take great care to avoid Godrick's Tarnished hunts, were I in your shoes. That depraved lot are obsessed with sacrificing Tarnished like you for the sake of "grafting. Honestly, Godrick's nothing more than a jumped up country bumpkin. Lord? Don't make me laugh.
First he hid himself amongst the womenfolk to flee the capital, then hid from Radahn in that castle… Then he insulted Malenia, lost to her in battle, only to lick her boots rather than die like a man. Has he no shame, the big girl’s blouse? And to think, he’s the blood of Godfrey! Last of the golden lineage, though you almost wouldn’t know it to look at him. I almost feel sorry for the chap the more I think of it.
Melina
Upon the cliff, in Castle Stormveil, is a shardbearer. A demigod who inherited a fragment of the shattered Elden Ring.
If the rays of grace signal the castle, then the Elden Ring beckons you. As an ally by pact, ...I pray that you are fit... To face the challenge presented by the Ring.
Roderika
Everyone's...been grafted. Everyone who came with me.
They crossed the sea for me. They fought, for me. Heh... Only to have their arms taken. Their legs taken. Even their heads...taken. Taken and stuck to the spider. Did you know? If you're grafted by the spider, you become a chrysalid.
It's quite the lark, when you think about it.

Why does he says "I command thee, Neil!" ? O'Neil is all the way in Caelid, he can't hear you, and he's in a different army. Is Godrick stupid?

One of the coolest bosses in the game, whether it’s design, mechanics, character or music. But something I kept thinking about after fighting Patches recently was, what if there was an to spare Godrick? What if, upon reaching minimal health, like the coward he is, bent down before us and started begging for mercy? We could kill him like it is in the game, but I think it’d be really cool if you could have the option actually spare the guy, not because he’s a sad character, but a pathetic, evil one. Upon sitting at a site of grace and reloading the area, Godrick would be gone without a trace, running away, nowhere to be seen and gone without a trace, besides the huge wings of the dead dragon in his arena mysteriously ripped off, taken, somewhere. Hours later, you open up the grand lift to the mountaintops of the giants, but are interrupted by a draconic roar, followed by a familiar pathetic cackle, Godrick crashes into the snow to fight us once more. It’d make a cooler rematch than Godefroy at least.

Surprisingly, the weakest Demigod gives you one of the best Great Runes.
For low level character, it helps a lot.
And even for high level characters, it can give you access to hold super stat requirying weapons, as well as more Arc to farm items.
Literally, he is GOATED as for good.

Godrick only kneeled before Malenia because he knew he could have easily wiped her and her army, but was too kind to humiliate her like that and decided to give her a chance to escape at the cost of his own dignity. Stay strong Godrickheads dont let the trolls misinform you

The fact that he grafts all those arms onto himself makes me wonder… what other things does he have grafted onto himself that we don’t know about???
- Anonymous
Godrick was only considered weak because of his horrible taste when it comes to grafting. Like come on, there’s so many cool options for things to graft onto yourself… and you choose human arms, human legs, and human fingers. Oh and a dragon, which is cool, but it stops there. All I’m saying is, if he had a rune bear arm, a lobster sniper rifle hand, and some Caelid crow wings for good measure, NOBODY in the Lands Between would be mocking him much longer

Many have pointed out that "our home, bathed in rays of gold" might refer to Shaman Village. But I also think we should take a closer look at what he says when he grafts the drake onto his arm. He implores his ancestors to "bear witness," not, as one might suspect, "drake witness." This is one of the most important clues in Elden Ring because it shows that Godrick is aware of so-called "Bear Communion," which, as the Roar of Rugalea item description states, is "akin to the divine invocation of the hornsent." This, again, is evidence of Godrick's deep knowledge of the history of the Lands Between, which he undoubtedly got from Godefroy, his uncle and mentor. Perhaps it is also why both of them are able to channel storms. Think about it. Who else do we see channel these tempests? That's right. The Dancing Lion in the DLC. I rest my case.

So concidering grafting as just putting limbs on someone where there shouldn't be limbs, is it only the flesh that melts with ones Body or also the bones? I mean it has to have some sort of stability and grafting appendages means you at least need to Control them somehow. Godrick managed to graft so many things onto himself and is in control of each and every one of them. He must have one hell of a brain and i don't even want to know how his skeleton would look like. Also side Note! Five fingers are considered blessed with intelligente according to the Beastmen Lore. Godrick has 6 on his right Hand. Does that mean he's concidered smarter or dumber?

I know people disrespect him, and call him weak, but he's only weak compared to the likes of Malenia and Radahn (in-game levels be damned). He is still a powerful lord with a unique set of skills. Being a distant progeny is not his fault and he compensates for it nicely. Sure, Limgrave went to ****, but what part of the Lands Between didn't?

First time ER player and beat Godrick last night after an hour and a half. in comparison, Margit took me 5 tries. His boss fight was pretty fair i think. the biggest issue i had with him is his Stormcaller move. I found it almost impossible to roll out of. I think honestly the boss stage was more of a hindrance than anything. its narrow so he is almost always in your face (making Stormcaller worse), and the GODDAMN TOMBSTONES EVERYWHERE which catches you midroll and you cant do or move. Whomever added the tombstones, rest in piss.
Character level 30, with 19 and 23 in strength and dexterity and 19 in vigor.
the weapons: Dual Uchigatana +6 Keen. Bleed helps SO MUCH in this fight
No spells/incantations or useful talismans.
Wolves AoW in the second phase just to buy me time to use a flask because they die within 10 seconds or so.

We all laugh and mock Godrick for being weak, but is he truly weak, or just relatively?
Other Shardbearers of the Shattering are demigods all - children of either Marika, Radagon or both. Radahn? A towering behemoth with the power of gravity itself. Malenia? Lightning-fast swordsman with powers so great that only Radahn, the strongest demigod could match her. Rykard? We do not know how powerful he was during the Shattering, but the countless bodies littering Mount Gelmir hint that he was also extremely powerful, even before he became Lord of Blasphemy. Morgott? He managed to hold back Malenia from taking Leyndell, so he was not at all weak.
Meanwhile, Finger Reader Enia says that Godrick is just the runt of the litter, "his divine blood sorely diluted". He likely isn't a son of Godwyn (or Godefroy or whoever was before him), but rather a distant descendant - dozens of generations, perhaps, if not more. Logically, what power the Golden Lineage had inherited from Marika and Godfrey would've been whittled down gradually because Godfrey's descendants likely wouldn't be marrying other demigods - rather, just mortals and nobles without any significant power. Godrick is a mere mortal man, his only advantages being grafting, his Great Rune, and his unscrupulosity. He managed to flee the capital successfuly by disguising himself - most would think such a move beneath them. Then he survived his battle against Malenia by begging for mercy - in such a situation, many others would've refused, and been cut down. And though grafting did not help him match demigods, it still gave him a significant power boost. In a way, Godrick is like us - using every tool and trick at his disposal in creative ways to gain an advantage.
Of course, Godrick is still arrogant and cruel, not denying that. But he does deserve some credit - being the weakest shardbearer, yet still managing to survive the Shattering unscathed, and with Limgrave mostly intact.

Godrick knew about the Shaman Village and Marika's past. That's a wild revelation.

You know, grafting might actually be an inherent trait of Numen/Shamans and those descended from Marika. According to the description of the Tooth Whip "The flesh of shamans was said to meld harmoniously with others." According to the innard meat and greatjar description the shamans were sliced up and stuffed into pots to be reborn into saints. We also know Marika originally came from the Shaman Village behind the Shadow Keep. Basically what i'm trying to say is that all demi-god descendants originating from Marika bleed super glue

...And one day, we'll return together...
...To our home, bathed in rays of gold...
Could Godrick have understood something about Marika and that we haven't understood until now in the DLC?
Maybe this is a wish Marika shared with her descendants?

Is it possible, that Godrick is a projection of godefroy, who is imprisoned? Like Margitt is a projection of Morgott. Don’t know, why the projection should have a ring shard and don’t know, if any NPCs talk about Godrick by name. What do you think?

the real challenge of this fight is the tedium of waiting for him to do one of his extremely punishable attacks

Was reading some of the takes on Godrick here and realized how much I may have been misled by unreliable characters in the Lands Between, so... What all do we absolutely KNOW about Godrick and his castle?
-Godrick is the current ruler of Stormveil Castle and Limgrave, and a distant heir to the Golden Lineage of Godfrey and Marika
-Godrick's golden-lineage ancestor is named Godefroy, who is also a grafter (we find his evergaol in Lleyndel)
-Through grafting, Godrick is able to attach limbs and other body parts to his own form and use abilities the previous body once had. This includes the entire head of a lesser dragon and its' fire-breathing; the leg of Commander Niall, which improves/grants storm abilities; multiple tarnished arms and hands; troll arms and hands
-As mentioned, Commander Niall had offered his leg to Godrick in exchange for some soldiers held prisoner in Stormveil. The commander escaped with those soldiers to Castle Sol in the Mountaintop of the Giants.
-Godrick was "hounded" away from Lleyndel, but managed to steal one of Marika's personal artifacts - the Mimic's Veil - beforehand, aiding in his escape
-Within Castle Stormveil is the Godslayer Seal, locked away behind a Stonesword Key fog wall. The Godskin Prayerbook is also found here. We don't know whether these were brought to the castle by Godrick and his forces or by someone before him, or even if Godrick knows they're there.
-Castle Stormveil has one of the corpse growths of Godwyn himself, guarded by an ulcerated tree spirit. While this may not be his true body as we find it in Deeproot Depths, it appears to be a place where his death blight is strong as the castle walls and many of the soldiers within have thorns and blighted skin.
-Godrick confronted Malenia at some point, claiming defeat and asking for mercy when he was overpowered.
-Godrick also challenged/faced off against Radahn, eventually retreating to Stormveil.
I've probably missed some things, so please add any if you think of them! Weirdly enough Godrick seems like one of the shardbearers we hear about the most, but actually KNOW the least about.

You are maybe the lord of all théâtre is golden but me i am the lord of all .

Good fight, but the bear witnessing the entire fight from the corner of the arena is a bit distracting even if it makes sense in the story

What does he even do with all the arms? He only has one axe? He just kinda rolls around on them. He could've been an even deadlier grafted scion, but he's too dumb I guess.

I am convinced that the game's overtly explicit text about Godrick being this pitiful, washed-up, not even has-been but rather never-was, never-could-be, is all just misdirection. He's Miyazaki's favorite boss for a reason, and there is more than meets the eye with him, I'm sure.
My first time seeing his fight was in the network test when we all had virtually zero idea about anything in Elden Ring, lore or otherwise. His opening speech: "Mighty Dragon, thou'rt a trueborn heir. Lend me thy strength, o kindred." Sounds like extremely generic fantasy bad-guy drivel, and GRRM being attached to the project stood out in the public eye, so that's where most minds went. This guy sucks, and dragons are awesome, so he says some reverent Olde Englishe nonsense as he haphazardly takes the dragon's power for himself. But let's really put it under a microscope now that we know more about the Lands Between.
Godrick is a distant son of Godfrey, a scion of the Golden Lineage, the blood of the First Elden Lord. Or so we are told. But we also discover much, much later in the game that before Godfrey and the Erdtree, the throne of Elden Lord existed, and it belonged to Placidusax - an ancient dragon. Godrick calls the dragon a "trueborn heir", and "kindred". Perhaps he recognizes that the Golden Lineage's claim is fraudulent and, rather than chase the power of his Tarnished human ancestor, sought the strength of the true Elden Lord.
Stormveil Castle is also more significant than it appears. While early-game areas giving us little glimpses of the bigger picture is hardly unusual for From Software, the implications of certain things in Stormveil are too significant to ignore. It draws many parallels to Farum Azula - seat of Placidusax and the Storm Beyond Time, sealing place of Destined Death and smothered by Godwyn's twisted nettles, home of the infamous Godskin Duo fight. Godwyn's corpse reaches the surface in Stormveil, and you auspiciously find the Godskin Prayerbook and Godslayer Seal. So, perhaps again signifying Godrick's doubt of his own bloodline, he sought a power greater than - capable of killing - Marika, the god from which it comes. Grafting could be a pale imitation of the Godskin's inhuman biology; Godrick uses his limbs to greatly extend his reach like an Apostle, and rolls like a Noble. He also wasn't the first to do it, as we can see his father Godefroy is grafted as well. Point is, Godrick may be more scholarly than he first seems, and while we caught him at a bad time, may have actually been on the path to surpass the Golden Lineage. Sure it was cowardly to submit to Malenia, but pride and prudence are often at odds with each other.

Love his lore. All the other rune-bearers have contempt for him because he still acts and thinks like a human warlord: concerned about his lands and powerbase, scheming and drawing mortals into his service wherever he can, instead of being wrapped up in cosmic struggles beyond mortal comprehension. He has that mentality because he's the third son of a third son, it makes him simultaneously more relatable and pitiful.

I just realized his weird hand with six fingers was klepped off of a Dragonkin Soldier. Where in the heck did he just find one of those?

I swear I was just stance breaking him with 3 charged heavies from a Heavy Thrusting Sword, but this website says they do 33 stance damage and he has 105 stance. Something is off.

Good design fromsoft, the only thing I could think of in my first encounter is how gross he is. Ew.

Something interesting that may apply to all bosses in the game, is that he wont ever go to phase 2 if you dont attack him directly after his hp goes around 50%, if you kill him this way, the dragon will remain complete in his arena after you beat him (just tried it by using rot dog + poison mist and just stared at him while he died)

Godrick was secretly in love with malenia but Godrick is tsundere, so he insults malenia. This is 101% canon and I 100% didn’t make this up.

Gostoc: what are you saying Godrick, I did not steal those runes
Godrick: hmm we will have to see about that….BEAR witnesses

Was a popular summon spot when the game released, and I must have helped over 100 people with this boss ... great fight, but man I got sick on that cut scene in the middle

I wanna do quests for Godrick, bring him pieces parts from all around the lands between to help him become a better lad, what better Elden Lord candidate than a council of wisemen grafted together?

Does he have multiple balls cause he likes to graft or just two?

think about it with me, godrick managed to graft a dragon to himself, so, if we didnt show up to beat him, this means he could be able to graft progressively more powerful beings, to my understanding, Godrick had the most potential out of all demigods, imagine if he was able to put his hands on a true ancient dragon or another demigod like Rykard or even Radahn if there is any way to remove or at least cease the scarlet rot...

AAAAAAAAAAAYYYY, YHA! *chop* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! *chop* uaogh... tROoeST Of DRAGins, lennd me thy strength *grafting noises*

The best part of Elden Ring manga was when Godrick the Grafted said: "ITS GRAFTIN' TIME!" and then grafted all over the those tarnished. (it literally happens in chapter 10)

Victim of the worst character assassination in the Lands Between. Ask yourself this, do his actions that we see with our own eyes match his reputation as a coward? No, he stands his ground and fights you 1v1 until the bitter end, he doesn't run, beg for mercy or hide behind henchmen. What's more cowardly, going out to fight Melania or just letting her trespass without confronting her army? What did Godrick do?
Who tells us he's a coward? A known liar and one with a personal grudge against Godrick since he evicted him from his fort! Kenneth claims he's the rightful ruler of Limgrave yet he isn't and claims he'll grant us a knighthood yet knows he doesn't have the authority. Liar! Even the pillar claiming he begged for mercy is suspect as these are clearly written by someone with a pro Melania bias, the one in Lurnia has a blessing for her!
So his reputation says he's a coward but all his actions say otherwise. Yes the grafting is gross but any more so than what Rykard or Mohg did to themselves? Or Melania herself? Or Redahn?

I don't know why everyone simps for maleinia when this guy is here. Malenia: becomes a butterfly. Godrick: Attaches a FRAKING DRAGON HEAD TO HIS ARM. Malenia: Probably actually likes Godrick. Godrick: has a kinda ugly face Malenia: is uglier. But here is the reason Godrick is the best boss and malenia is the worst. Godrick: no bullshit. Malenia: waterfowl

This was a fun fight during my first play through. Just so damn cool seeing him cut his own hand and promptly graft a dragon head on, amazing.

If you pay attention to his design you might see that he is using a leg wearing veterans armour, who do we know that is missing a leg and wears such armor? Perhaps it’s how he got his wind/storm abilities.

One of the best boss fights in Elden Ring. Just a good fight without much cheap bullsht that almost every significant boss has a lot later.

The godskin prayerbook/seal being found in stormveil puts the visual of godrick with a blackflame spewing dragonhead arm and that sounds awesome as hell

The Elden Ring manga made this guy my favourite DemiGod, starting a new playthrough with a character named “GodrickSimp”, can only use his soldier’s armour, lordsword (great)sword, his greataxe and the storm AoW, yup, against all odds, it’s quality build time.

Struggling quite a bit with this guy on my lvl 1 wretch / unupgraded weapon / no summons run

favorite boss in the game after 6+ playthroughs. feels fair and challenging enough for how early along in the game he is. attacks are satisfying to dodge and give generous windows of attack as a reward for dodging his combos. he also has my favorite boss theme in the game that just fits him very well. 8/10

If I died more from his soldiers than I did to him does that mean his army got nerfed or he got buffed?

I like using bonfire ascetics here just to beat this guy up lmao

He literally added a bunch of arms on his back just to throw his cape down in a menacing way.

I love this fight so much. Every playthrough I always spend an hour or two getting summoned to fight him. You get summoned within seconds every time, the fight itself is a ton of fun, and as long as the host has a little bit of vigor it's basically free arcs and runes.

Interesting that although he is most definitely not the direct offspring of Marika/Radagon (evidenced by dialogue from Kenneth Haight), He is still considered a demigod, implying that children of demigods are considered demigods themselves.
If Rya is the genuine daughter of Rykard then she can potentially be considered a demigod herself, and due to Rya being the child of a first generation demigod and Godrick being described as very distant to his ancestor, Godfrey, it can be concluded that Rya could beat the **** out of an un-grafted Godrick, though him being an old man probably wouldn’t help either.

Most underrated boss imo, and don't forget that he isn't technically a true demigod since he is a distant descendant of the golden lineage, him actually managing to hold his position as the ruler of stormveil castle and limgrave proves he is only viewed as a joke when compared to the real demigods on his own right he should be more powerful than most of the creatures in the lands between

Am I the only one that thought Margit was more difficult than Godrick? I mean Godrick is easy in phase 1 and in phase 2 the only real challenge is avoiding the dragon. I can barely heal against Margit because the arena is so small and he input reads flask usage.

I think that Godrick is based off of a Chinese (atleast I think it is chinese) myth about a ruler who collected the emblems and crests of kingdoms he defeated and put them on (or so to speak GRAFTED them on) his emblem, and eventually it turned into a dragon. He might be based on that or maybe I'm crazy /:

He says "bow before me" sometimes before doing an attack.
