Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader is a Boss in Elden Ring. This Elden Ring Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader Guide features boss locations, tips, strategies and videos on how to defeat Alecto easily, as well as boss stats and lore for Alecto.

Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader is the ringleader of the Black Knives Plot, imprisoned within Ringleader's Evergaol. On the Night of the Black Knives, Alecto and the Black Knife Assassins assassinated Godwyn the Golden using daggers imbued with a fragment of Destined Death stolen from it's caretaker, Maliketh. During their escape from Leyndell, Alecto's daughter and one of the Black Knife Assassins, Tiche, perished protecting her.

She is an optional boss, as players don't need to defeat her to advance in Elden Ring. Like her fellow Black Knife Assassins, she is swift and aggressive, closing distance with ease. Her weapon is imbued with Death, allowing it to drain and reduce her targets’ maximum HP for a short while. You may find yourself dodging and running most of the time during the fight. Be patient and punish her long recovery moves such as Imbued Helmsplitter. She drops the Black Knife Tiche Ashes when defeated.

Bosses are unique and challenging Enemies that can be encountered all over the Lands Between. They can drop unique Spirit AshesWeaponsSpells, and other various Items.

The assassins who carried out the deed were scions of the Eternal City. A group entirely of women, arrayed in armour of silver under cloaks which fooled the eye.

Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader Combat Information

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader:

  • Use Glintblade Phalanx or Carian Phalanx to quickly bring down her Poise.
  • Use Ash of War: Giant Hunt to stunlock her.
  • Her Imbued Helmsplitter attack has a short tracking distance, so start sprinting away immediately as she crouches down to jump. Don't overextend or you'll be stuck in an attack or cast animation and unable to react in time.
Melee Users

Dodge and Punish: Dodge, duck, dive, and dip is the strategy here. You simply cannot block her attacks as they are too quick and deadly, and Barricade Shield is useless, so you must dodge. Try to keep enough distance that you can run away as soon as you see her winding up Imbued Helmsplitter, which can easily one-shot you if it hits. Keep dodging until she does Helmsplitter or Knife Sweep, and punish her while she's recovering. These are your best openings to attack safely unless you're wielding a large enough weapon to stun her. Helmsplitter is also good opportunity to get a backstab, but note that the bowl-like nature of the arena means that there's a very small chance your backstab won't connect due to elevation differences. You can safely heal instead of punishing a slow attack, or just after dodging a Blade of Death.

Glintblade Criticals: You can use the Ash of War: Glintblade Phalanx to greatly increase pressure on her Poise. Unassisted, it can take four casts to get her staggered, but you can speed this up a lot by getting your own hits in as well. Keep in mind that she can sometimes collide with some of your Glintblades before they launch and then get get knocked back out of stagger once the rest fire. She'll recover quickly, so don't close in for a punish if this happens.

Giant Hunt: Alecto is extremely weak against the Ash of War: Giant Hunt skill, as it not only deals huge bursts of poise damage, but every successful hit launches her into the air, meaning she has to get back up and is completely unable to move or attack while doing so. If you stagger your uses of Giant Hunt such that you hit her while she is getting back to her feet from the previous use, you can effectively stunlock her indefinitely. If she escapes the stunlock, simply dodge her attacks until she uses either of her Helmsplitter attacks, which have significant ending animations and give you prime openings to begin the cycle all over again.

Poke Her To Death: Strength builds can make good use of weapons with a fast jab attack (like the Greatsword's crouching/rolling light attack) to punish her while she's closing in for an attack. If you manage to stun her with the first attack, follow up with a second light attack - if she rolls away, stop swinging and back away while your stamina recharges.

Parries and Backstabs: Most of Alecto's melee attacks are parriable.  Take some runs to focus on observing her movesets and get accustomised to the speed of the fight. Quality & Dex builds can use a weapon with high critical damage (the Misericorde is a good choice). Equip the Dagger Talisman for a damage boosts and/or the Assassin's Crimson Dagger for HP regain.  Equip a shield with the Golden Parry Ash of War to extend the parry range, or use the Carian Retaliation Ash of War on a small shield to parry the Death-Imbued Flame projectiles for some extra damage.  Many of the Twist Sweep attacks and Jump attack (no flame) can be easily outrun and allow you to go in for backstabs. If you misread a combo or missed a parry earlier in her attack chain, roll to iframe next attacks and wait for the next opportunity.

Rolling into her with the Briar set on will easily stuns/interrupts her attacks.

Magic and Ranged Users

Critical Hits: This is a formidable boss which often requires lots of HP and FP, so it's recommended to have at minimum 25 Vigor, 20 Mind, and 10-12 flasks. For Sorcery users, it's best to use multi-hit spells with homing capabilities such as Glintblade Phalanx or Carian Phalanx. These fire-and-forget spells allow you to focus on dodging Alecto's swift and powerful attacks. You can use Ash of War: Glintblade Phalanx on your weapon for quick access. Maintain your distance and wait for openings and breaks between her attacks to cast your spells and then prepare to dodge her upcoming onslaught. While these spells are not particularly damaging to Alecto, they deal massive damage to her Poise, allowing you to get a critical attack in. Keep up this strategy throughout the whole fight and you should be able to bring her down.

Sweeping Attacks: When Alecto is far away from you, she's much more likely to close in than to stand back. She has incredible mobility but low poise. She leaps from side to side and will easily dodge most magic projectiles such as Glinstone Shard or Stars. These leaps can't evade spells with broad sweeping arcs such as Carian Greatsword or Adula's Moonblade, though. As she starts closing in, time your cast to catch her right as she reaches melee range. This will stun her and interrupt her attack. Keep casting over and over, stun-locking her until you knock her on her back. This will buy you time to sprint away, use FP flasks, or prime Glintblade or Carian Phalanx (as above). She'll often leap far back after being knocked down, so just wait until she closes in again to repeat the process.

Night and Flame: Wielding Sword of Night and Flame, back away from her along the rim of the bowl to avoid most of her chain attack combos and physical attacks (as long as you don't run out of stamina). You can use Night and Flame Stance's Night Comet attack after she does a Helmsplitter. This will usually knock her onto her back, allowing you to repeat the process. Be careful that you're back in Night and Flame Stance before you attack again or you'll start swinging your sword and potentially chop your way into her knives. If you miss, back off to regain stamina and FP. Be careful to avoid Imbued Helmsplitter, but that's fairly easy to dodge to the side if you're at a distance.

Alecto moves too fast for most ranged weapons to be able to handle her. Some jump attacks with a bow may connect safely but it will be a slow and unreliable source of damage.

Faith/Flame Strategy

Alecto can be handled fairly easily by overwhelming her poise by spamming Giantsflame Take Thee. Using talismans (such as Flock's Canvas Talisman, Fire Scorpion Charm, Godfrey Icon) and a Wondrous Physick (Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear) which boosts its attack, when Giantsflame Take Thee lands, Alecto will be knocked to the floor, allowing you to continuously spam it until you run out of FP. When that happens, back off, restore FP, then cast again until it knocks her down. Rinse and repeat until she is defeated.

Cheese Strategy

If you find yourself incapable of dealing with Alecto's attack pattern you can essentially break her AI by standing on a specific rock in the evergaol arena. As soon as she spawns in jump onto the rock located directly to the left of her. She will be unable to reach you unless she paths her way around to the left side of the rock. She can also occasionally use her Helmsplitter moves to get on top of the rock, in which case you should simply lead her off of the rock and then get back on it as quickly as possible.

To effectively and safely deal damage to her while using this strategy you should use ranged weapons and/or long-reaching melee weapons such as spears and thrusting swords to poke her from a distance. If these weapons don't work for your build, you can also use jumping heavy attacks with the melee weapon of your choice and retreat back onto the rock while she recovers.

Be aware that Alecto's Blade of Death can still sometimes hit you while you are on top of the rock. Also avoid the hole behind the rock against the wall of the Evergaol, from which you will fall off the map and die.

Incantation users can utilize Black Flame Ritual spell, which will chip away her health while providing protection against her attacks (as it breaks her attacks).

Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Refer to the Black Knife Assassin page for Alecto's base movesets and counters.
Imbued Helmsplitter Alecto brings her knife to her side, imbuing it with a dark flame before leaping upwards and performing a Helmsplitter. On impact, her knife bursts into an explosion of swirling blades that deals immense damage as well as additional
damage over time.
This move takes longer to start than the standard Helmsplitter but can also close much more distance, deals much more damage, and is very difficult to dodge if you're too close. Sprint away as soon as you see her begin to infuse her knife. Just as with the regular Helmsplitter, use this opportunity to cast spells or get a hit in.

Got to love a boss that has an instant kill attack if you get too close, and an instant kill attack if you get too far away. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Particularly annoying because if you just deleted ONE of those bullshit attacks she'd be a fun, challenging encounter. As is she has rotted in that prison forever in every one of my subsequent playthroughs, Tiche isn't close to being a necessary piece of gear.

This whole comment section is just people complaining that the boss is stupid or how they cheesed the fight. Taking an extra oneshot move aside, it's a completely fair fight just like other assassins and if you're having trouble, just look up at how good players are no hitting them and learn, it's much easier than you think.

        • Anonymous

I just fought her again on NG+3 forgot how annoying she was.Godskin Peeler+25 Weapon Art when shes bated in knocks her down, use Hoarfrost stomp uchigatana to catch and control neutral, when she gets hard knockdown, I can get a fully charged ADLS off on her and that usually hits for 26-4500. Shes an easy fight when you control her pressure.

          • Anonymous

I realized wearing some briar armor pieces really helped. (Could NOT manage beat this boss before lol). Alecto retreats instantly when taking any damage so when you roll away from an attack that was about to hit it saves you some damage!

            • Anonymous

I had alot of trouble with this boss, I'm running a bleed/int/some dragon rot breath build and could not beat her, that was till I decide to pull the night and flame sword out of storage to get it a try and got it my first go, kept baiting the night comet thrust and kept getting her locked even stopped the flying death blade dance by a lucky chance.

              • The shield definitely isn't useless - I beat her using parries and criticals. The point to remember is you can't JUST hold your shield up and expect that to save you. When your stamina gets low, make sure you have enough to dodge backward as her knife has little range. And don't block (just dodge backwards) on any attacks where she leaps into the air to attack you (usually the final move in her combo or her embued helmsplitter.)

If you have Carian Retaliation, you can also parry the knife she throws at you.

Sword Dance on a Cold Nightrider Glaive. Dodge her combos and Dance with her when she's about to recover. Rinse and repeat - only used one health flask and one fp flask.

Boy I sure do love enemies that have one-shot attacks. Super duper cool and fun. What the hell is the point of having 60 vigor if you just get killed in one hit?

                    • Anonymous

Giant Hunt and Piercing Fang can seriously trivialize this fight.

with Giant Hunt, make sure to follow up with fully charged heavy attack, that will instantly bring her to her knee.

                      • Anonymous

Marais sword made this fight a joke every time you use eochaids dancing blade she comes at you and gets staggered by it. Had trouble initially with a few different setups but this made the fight extremely easy.

                        • Anonymous

Dodge forwardleft, forwardleft or whatever. Most of the time she'll stop whatever she's doing because you're not in front of her anymore. When she jumps up to do that one hit kill attack just run tf away and roll just as she's coming down

                          • Anonymous

Aspect of the Crucible: Horns and a heavy weapon works incredibly well. As she runs towards you, charge her with horns to get her on her back, then do a single heavy charged R2. Doing this 2-3 times breaks her poise and the charge will always interrupt any attack. She didn't even have a chance to do the insta-death attack.

                            • Anonymous

Shield is not useless, don't pay attention to that nonsense. I used a heater shield for when dodging wasn't a real option and it still blocks her attacks fine without staggering you too much or losing too much stamina.

                                here's what worked for me:

                                - light load (i looked uncharacteristically pretty for this fight!)
                                - 90% running away
                                - heavy attack after her jump move, or timed well as she ran towards me. when i finally won it was with Stand Off, that got me a handful of staggers.

probably the longest fight i've had in this game yet! i tried some item buffs (frost, shrimp, defensive elixir) but none of them ended up making a difference.

Guard counter. Big shield breaks many of her attacks and only a few guard counters and she's stunned. Super easy.

What worked for me is sprint away from her, only dodge the projectile attack, attack a few times when she calms down and starts RP walking.

Alecto needs every one of her 17482 HP for the emotional damage from all the heartless misgendering in the comments calling her "him".

                                        from https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Ringleader's+Evergaol

                                        this worked for me

Here is an easy way to beat her.

Upgrade the Cross-Naginata to 18± and slap on a Cold infused Sword Dance, then attach a Winged Sword Insignia and a Stamina Talisman.

I beat her first try when I switched to this weapon.

The weapon has a long reach, and the Ash kept stun locking her when she approached.

The cold removes 10 percent of her health and reduces damage absorption.

Though she can still be threatening with her grab attack, and the Maliketh aoe, she may also back step from the Sword Dance.

I suggest you stay close to the circle, it helps to predict her when you're circling each other, and sword dance when she approaches, then back off and wait for your stamina to refill, rinse and repeat.

                                        Hope this helps!

barricade shield isn't useless, it lets me land guard counters on certain attacks even with a greatsword. still gotta dodge death attack but still...

How to completely trivialize the fight. Bolt of Gransax. Spam Lightning Spear (full charge), it knocks her down every time. She hardly ever avoids it and just runs straight at you. Combine with Godfrey Icon, Shard of Alexander, and your physick with the lighting and stonebarb tears; completely wrecks her. She may get off a blade of death or two but you should be able to tank thru them.

Bloodhound Finesse' can break her stance in two hits if you also do the follow-up. As long as you dodge around her attacks and then use the ability, it won't miss. After her stance is broken, you can immediately use the ability again, and wait for a window of time to continue spamming. A bit broken though...

                                                    • Anonymous

Light attacks break with collosal swords break her poise and can be chained. 4-5 break her stance.

Died 2 times to her trying to use heavy attacks or guard counters.

Killed her on 1st try when i figured light attacks are the way to go

This was a tough boss on my fists only run. I ended up killing her with parries - after a parry, I was able to get off a charge attack plus two r1s for an extra ~1000 damage, meaning it only took ~9 parries. The grab attack and the giant nova were extremely obnoxious.

                                                        • Anonymous

Try square off, two hits breaks the stance. Just beat her by dual wielding 2 cold broadswords. Dodge big attack, punich with backstab or square off heavy. When she stuns riposte her and heal health or FP while she recovers. Took me 3 tries at lvl 100.

                                                          • Anonymous

If you are a sorcerer build carian piercer can keep her locked on the ground until you run out of mana or stamina. Fully charge it and time it right so when she walks up she gets hit and lands on her back. Then immediately use a fully charged one again until you run out of mana or stamina, then create space, recover and repeat.

spam a dozen or so times and you kill her without getting hit

If your weapons are early game, Bloodhound Fang is the best. It allows you to escape her strikes with L2, has a good R2, and a jump attack which if done consecutively can pose break her

                                                                • Anonymous

The rock cheese still works as of December 2023. You need to get her near the edge of the cliff and stand in front of her so she doesn't leave the area. She will just endlessly walk at you without attacking. There is a recent youtube video detailing where exactly you want to get her to stand.

This boss fight ****ing sucks and so does the reward so the real strat is to just skip her entirely

                                                                  • Anonymous

I just did a combo of Phalanx, a Bastard Sword with Gravitas on it, and Gavel of Haima for once I pulled her in. All three combined would poise-break immediately. Plus occasionally I could get off another Gavel or Gravitas while she was laying on the ground. The damage wasn't super duper high, but I barely took a hit because she was constantly stunned.

                                                                    • Anonymous

The fact that I beat her in under 80 mins of dying proves it can be done. By anyone! (Insert deprecating sarcasm). I tend to suck. I have a dex katana build with a shield that can block regular damage. I used the charged counter attack and backstab talisman for the most part. I always waited for her to attack while locking on. After 3 hits, you break her poise and backstab. Be patient—being aggressive will kill your stamina and then you will be dead. Also, I never rolled because you lose precious stamina.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

Tried several times with my lvl 150 blood/arcane/great stars build and wild strikes. No chance.

Equiped giants red braid main hand and swarm of flies offhand. Super easy fight. Spam flies while in range and dodge / whip all the attacks. When you get the chance, poisebreak with whips art of war. Did it first try with this tactic.

                                                                          • Anonymous

Quite effective method that I found. Charge Noble Presence while she spawns and keep using it repeatedly until breaking her stance (you will be able to stun lock her if you get the timing down). Infinite FP tear helps at the very start at least.
Or maybe use Chilling/Freezing Mist. She will dodge the attack of Chilling Mist, but will completely ignore the mist part. Reset frostbite with a fire attack and repeatedly proc frostbite. Might trade a few blows, but you will have more than enough flasks.

                                                                            • Anonymous

Just activate her by walking to the opposite end of the arena
Then Crouch and sneak around her by walking along the edge of the arena
After you get behind her just spam freezing mist
                                                                              She won't aggro

                                                                              U can items/talisman/armour if U don't have enough INT

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

If the boss is in your face and not grabbing or using destined death attacks guard counter. If you have to roll away from imbued helm splitter get some distance and when it runs to you, do a jumping R2, the only times I pressed r1 were for Frits, break that poise and you have it in the bag

                                                                                  • Anonymous

She brought the death fade, but yea, glint blade phanlanx is your friend. Please use it by the good grace of the moon, please use it.

Hey, I know, why don't we take a super agile, super fast, super aggressive boss; and also give her as much HP, defence, and status immunity as the heaviest, slowest tank? That's going to be fun, no?

                                                                                      • Anonymous

I think the only problem with her, like with a lot of bosses in ER, Is her health/defense.
To keep high the difficult they just made a lot of bosses immune to stats or similari, but the result Is turning them in something frustrating.
If you make a super fast and dodging enemy with two ohko move, then you have to give It some more weak point but the poise.
Otherwise you must focus on stagger her or learn every single pattern as usual; at least make this a fast and dynamic encounter, but with al that hp you must be "perfect" or a single error can ruin the whole fight.
You have kinda the same feeling at fighting almost every boss here, dragon or thief doesen't matter

                                                                                        • Bit harder than expected. Solution is simply poise breaking, and preferably dodging. Good to use in mixed physics that tear which increases poise breaks. Also some two handed heavy stuff. Last but not least, if you can hit Lions Claw ash of war, then you will simply win as that paired with any sizeable weapon just put her on her ass. Then few attacks and poise gone. Having weapon enchanted with frost just makes it a bit nicer and faster.

Also given its more or less "human" enemy, you can actually do grab attack like Lifesteal fist. Kinda funny..

Heavy weapons stagger her quite a bit, so you can punch her till you near out of stamina, then back up a bit to refill and repeat.

Surprisingly, strategy here is just simply keep hitting her and dodge a bit. I usually play with my equip load near max, but in this case either having tear to make load light or dropping load to medium is needed as few of those attacks really need to be dodged, given she uses effectively black flame in the attack which will just eat your HP away, not mentioning it hits like a truck.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

Freezing mist + greatblade phalanx. Try to break her stance in the mist; I managed to frostbite her twice and just ran around getting the phalanx up and drinking

                                                                                            • Anonymous

I was struggling a lot with this boss but here's how I beat it:

Equip a shield with 100% physical negate
Equip good poise damage weapon (I used Great Stars)
Guard counter her lunging stab (hold R2 the moment you hear the block so she can't follow-up)
Dodge to her back when she does that jump attack and back stab
If she does that destined death move with like multiple slashes, run away just out of range then back stab her

For all her other moves either walk away while guarding or dodge, up to your preference

                                                                                              Good luck!!!!

                                                                                              • Strong spirit ashe against bosses who benefit from connecting attacks (like when malenia's attacks heal her) or who devastate traditional tanks that block, rather than dodge (like how radagon can kill almost anyone by connecting just one or a few attacks)

                                                                                                • Anonymous

either im doing this wrong or it just doesnt work anymore but standing on the rock doesn't do anything to stop her or break her at all. also I have to mention that this fight feels impossible for someone who is an int caster, as she literally just dodges faster than all of your abilities can travel and you cant utilize cheese like poison or scarlet rot.

the fact that her AI is so powerful that it can fully dodge a rock sling by moving completely behind the caster after the spell is cast is also kind of BS.

typing this after trying to fight her about 15 times and barely even managing to get a quarter of her HP down, im doubtful I can beat her even after trying 30 or more times. as an int caster anyway. if I were strength or faith this would be so much easier.

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

Cold storm stomp zweihander. Stuns often, use crits to move her towards the ledge. Can L2 when she gets up to prevent her from turning direction with a dodge.

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

Figured out a new cheese strat, it's a bit tricky but it once you get it down it's reliable. It's mainly about the setup - first you learn her moves well enough to not get hit by them all the time. You'll know it worked when you reduce her health to 0 before she kills you. This revolves around a weird bug I discovered where you can retry the fight as many times as you want, and even though you improve every time, she always uses the same tactics. It feels unfair tbh

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

equip a weapon with giant hunt -> press l2 -> repeat -> win

This is seriously the easiest time i've ever had beating the damn thing, she just goes flying every time you use the ash which requires 0 skill to perform.

For some reason she just wouldn't dodge out of it and would try to attack everytime i L2'd on wakeup.

I also stance-broke her every third L2 using a spear, i assume it could go down to only 2 attacks with a heavier weapon that has better base stance damage.

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

Without build-shifting, keep your distance (even as a melee player) and identify the 3-4 attacks you can comfortably attack after. Don't try to go face her front-on because nobody's reactions are good enough to consistently deal with her backstab attack, but she never tries that the first move in a combo or after the bleed/leaping/floor-dragging attacks, so you should rarely get it and be well out of range when you do. I had no ways to deal damage but melee and got her down a couple of tries after working this strategy out.

                                                                                                          • Anonymous

If you're lucky you get her trapped against the side or a rock, if you're lucky she doesn't backstab you a lot (which strangely isn't even listed here under attacks, 2 of these close together and you're dead end of story). If you're not lucky you're likely dead. It's all RNG.

                                                                                                            • Anonymous

Aspect: Breath will reliably flinch her for every single damage tick, Aspect: Tail covers a massive area and a single hit will knock her off her feet and open her up for damage, and Aspect: Horns flips her when fully charged and true combos into Ordovis' Vortex for massive damage despite their Holy Resistance.

                                                                                                              • Anonymous

Aspect: Breath will reliably flinch her for the whole casting, Aspect: Tail covers a large area and one hit will put her on her butt and open her up for more damage, and Aspect: Horns flips her and true combos into a fully charged Ordovis' Vortex.

                                                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                                                  • Anonymous

She wasn't even stunlocked, but between each attack she didn't try to fight back. It was like her AI prioritized trying to slowly walk away from the ledge over anything else. Very strange.

                                                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                                                      • Anonymous

I found her when I was barely lvl50 and by the time I finished the game with 322 deaths, 51 of were from her alone. How did I beat her, you might ask? I didn't. ****ing input reading idiot dodged me so hard she fell off a cliff (one part of the evergaol is open right beside the cliffs) and died due to fall damage. Basically: Use her overagressive attack by using either delayed spells or night spells. Adula's moonblade is also pretty good to the wide-range and medium distance aoe.

                                                                                                                        • Anonymous

I found that she was *very* susceptible to them, especially after her long distance lunging attack. If nothing seems to be working & you're not usually a shield user, try picking one up and just punishing her when she attacks.

                                                                                                                          • Anonymous

But I thought hey, why not try the Royal Greatsword because if Blaidd was able to merc a bunch of black knife assassins with it, it's worth a shot right? and just spammed its skill Wolf's Assault whenever she got close enough, the forward flip works great as a dodge from her attacks and the cold blast messed her up with frost. Not only that but it knocked her on her butt every time which made it much easier to get a couple hits in. Worked like a charm, just had to be careful to dodge roll her blades and helmsplitter attacks. But seriously, the sword saved me! Bring some freezing pots as well. I couldn't believe I beat her first try, but I might've been a bit overleveled at 122 lol.

                                                                                                                            • Anonymous

Than I upgraded it to +8, activated the Ash of War that imbues the sword with frost and got her easilly with the heavy attack.
Four or five hits broke her stance and allowed me to hit a critical.

Didn´t even need to block any of her attacks

It's a tough one-on-one boss, just keep your distance and using counterattack I could finish him off without taking a hitkill with his flying knife skill with great area attack. He only kill me with this damn attack. But once i decide to keep distance and do only counterattacks, end the problem.

I'll use cheese if I'm absolutely walled by a boss, but stunlocking feels like I'm not really playing the game. Gliding around and dancing with this boss is a ton of fun, and I look forward to using these ashes + new weapons here each playthrough.
