Ancient Dragon-Man is a Boss in Elden Ring. Ancient Dragon-Man carries a katana and moves quickly in between attacks, and is found in Dragon's Pit, he drops the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana once defeated. This is an optional boss as players will not need to defeat him to advance in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring Ancient Dragon-Man Location

Ancient Dragon-Man can be found by dropping down into the deep pit in the room filled with lit candles between the stairs and the large basin. From the Dragon's Pit Site of Grace, continue along the path and you will end up in a large room with a deep pit in the middle, from there you will be able to see the basin below. Continue down past the candle-lit area into another path where you will see stairs going down. Once you see the pit, drop down to face the Ancient Dragon-Man.   • Ancient Dragon-Man is a boss exclusive to Shadow of the Erdtree, and does not appear in the base game.

Melee Users

The Ancient Dragon-Man is encountered when you explore the Dragon's Pit. You will find the entrance after dropping down a deep pit in between a set of long stairs and a large basin in a candle-lit room. He moves quickly and is always dodging so it may be difficult to attack him.

He has 2 similar attacks, one of which he can perform a charging attack. He will distance himself from you and jump up, while he is in the air, he will charge up his attack and swing toward you, releasing a wave of damage that will lessen close to a third of your health. While he is charging his attack, this gives you time to dodge out of the way of the slash wave. He will also come closer to you and perform the same attack without charging up. So he may jump and slash down directly when he lands. You can also dodge his attack to avoid receiving damage. You can corner him to a wall and perform heavy attacks on him to break his poise, he may move quickly but once you have him against a wall and his stance is broken, he is easy to defeat.

Attack Description Counter
 Charged Jump Slash The Ancient Dragon-Man will dash back to gain a distance from you and then will hop up and charge his blade to glow red. He will then slash it toward you sending a wave dealing heavy damage to you. When he jumps and charges his weapon, it gives you enough time to dodge to the sides of his slash wave as it goes in a forward direction.
 Jump Slash Like his charged attack, the Ancient Dragon-Man will jump up and swing downwards, slashing his katana at you as he lands. When he jumps while he is closer to you, you will have to dodge toward the sides or backward from his attack to avoid receiving damage quickly.
