My friend and I fought the final boss without him. He DOES NOT appear outside the boss room if you don't summon him. I repeat, you DO need him to be in the fight to finish his questline.

Equip this and then switch to a grave scythe with the sword dance ash of war perform the ash of war then immediately reequip the Obsidian Lamina. It changes the ash of war to the end of spinning slash. Is this happening for anyone else?

You dont need to summon him to get the items, Me and Myself killed the last boss and I was able to receive his loot in the arena

So I haven't seen anyone say this yet-- this scythe has a different moveset than the base scythe.

The R1s are the same, but the R2s are different. The regular scythe does a horizontal left-to-right, then a horizontal right-to-left. This weapon swipes diagonally, right-to-left then left-to-right. More interestingly, the charged R2 does a double swing on either part of the attack chain.

yall overreacting, scythe isnt bad at all you just suck at using it lol, I've had nothing but fun with this thing. In duels its terrific too. Not everything needs to be a meta instant kill weapon.

I think the weapon is bugged or the translation is trash. The follow up on it is just the latter part of spinning slash, which doesn’t match the description. It states that it starts with a backstep, then a strong attack is an upward slash, press strong attack again to bring it downward. The actual animation is a backstep, then 2 horizontal slashes, all with 1 strong attack input. There’s not a second input.

At 34 dex 54 arcane has 554 AR and 75 blood loss, AOW under 2000 damage. While Occult grave scythe has 611 AR 96 blood loss, and sword dance does over 2000 damage on the first two swings in less than a third the time. We have a new worst weapon in the game.

Everyone commenting on it being pure DEX and also saying the AR is trash apparently doesn't understand how scaling works. Here's a comparison:

With 80 DEX and 53 ARC (for Bayle's Flame Lightning)

Obsidian Lamina: 689 AR, 75 Bleed
Blood Scythe: 623 AR, 136 Bleed
Keen Scythe: 651 AR, 55 Bleed
Heavy Grave Scythe (80 STR of course): 665 AR, 55 Bleed

The Lamina has the highest achievable AR of ANY pure physical scythe, but also gets solid Bleed from feeding it some ARC. Plus it has a stellar ash, it's great. It's literally the strongest Scythe in the entire game. And to utilize it fully you get DEX -AND- ARC. Ideally 45 ARC, but you can go over for fun depending on your RL.

I tried it but can be infused, can't change ashes, 56 bleed build up at +10 and scaling is E str, B dex and D arcane. Pure dex weapon. Disapointing

You can find this on his corpse in the boss room after beating the final boss and completing his quest. You get his drops regardless of if you summon him to assist you.

This is probably from completing his quest. You get the bow by killing him in needle knight quest and they say that he has put down his blade which would imply that he isn't using it anymore.
