Bloody Helice is a Heavy Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring. The Bloody Helice scales primarily with Arcane and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for Piercing Damage and additional blood loss along with a complementing Unique Skill, Dynast's Finesse which allows the user to avoid an attack and follow up with a strong attack.
Ominous piercing sword with a winding blade. Carried by the noble servants of the Lord of Blood.
Designed to bore into flesh, causing severe blood loss at the wound. The extracted blood trickles gracefully down the length of the blade.
Where to Find Bloody Helice in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Bloody Helice Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: Dynast's Finesse
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War or buffed with Magic and Consumables
- Bloody Helice can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones
- Causes Blood loss Buildup:
(55)
- Its weapon art is a back-stepping dodge, an R2 attack used during this animation will cause the player to follow up with a heavy forward thrust. An additional R2 input will cause the player to utilize a two hit combo follow up attack. All parts of the weapon art utilize additional FP.
- This weapon has a unique R2 shared with Dragon King's Cragblade, this also affects its feint animation.
- The R2 attack is a heavy forward thrust
- The Feint attack is similar to the standard heavy thrusting sword moveset, but it features a wider arc on the backward sweep attack
- Good weapon against very aggressive players. Especially very good against those who repeatedly use the Rivers of Blood Ash of War.
- Sell Value:
200 Runes.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed of Heavy Thrusting Swords crouching attacks has been reduced. Also the stagger caused by double-handed Heavy Thrusting Swords jumping attacks has been reduced. And finally, Poise damage has also been reduced, but only for PVP.

In older versions of the game (I'm meaning basically launch edition - before banished knight Engvall was obtained in murkwater catacomb and you instead got the duelist hammer) I remember getting this weapon BEFORE ALTUS plateau, I think the game used to give the sanguine noble at rose church a garunteed drop of this because I had it before Altus on my first character but when I restarted after some major updates I only got it in writueblood ruins can anyone confirm???

Elden ring Colosseum experience is literally 50% this weapon.

Call it cheap, but this complements the Golden Beast Crest Shield really well.
They both use similar shades of gold.
But while the Bloody Helice has Mohg as a symbol on its handle, the Golden Beast Crest Shield is blazoned with Serosh. Serosh acting as the beast that keeps the Golden Lineage from succumbing to bloodlust.
These further combine well with Raging Wolf armor set’s gold coloring on its legs and blood red clothe.
The scummy playstyle kind of adds to the theming.

Only thing that would have made this weapon even cooler was if the blade spun like a drill during the weapon skill's follow up and charged R2's, like how Ghiza's wheel does. Honestly disappointed they didn't think of that.
- Anonymous
Wish it would have a special interaction if you have the reduvia in your offhand
- Anonymous
the iframes are so generous, its really hard to deal with without a thrusting weapon
- Anonymous
Impossible to punish if there is even a bit of lag. So much iframes, and coupled with lag the punish window simply doesn't exist - either that or you always end up trading.

While it's good to have weapons with unique Ashes of War, I'd actually love this to have Blood Tax. Would fit incredibly well with the design and description of the weapon.
- Anonymous
Wouldn't it be cool if you could powerstance this with the Reduvia like Mohg's bloodboys do?
- Anonymous
Very fun weapon, the weapon art can sometimes get you in trouble if you try to follow up during a combo, but if you know when to evade and when to combo, you can do rapid damage and bleed buildup. I enjoy pairing it with a Bloody Godskin Stitcher in the offhand, both aesthetically and because you can use Seppuku to up your bleed buildup.

This weapon should also have the "blood puddel" as part of it's move set. Seriously missed opportunity since the sanguine nobles use that attack, but now that you have their weapon you can't.

I encounter plenty of “duelist” hosts at base level using this weapon and rune arc spamming jumping R1 R1s, running R2s but otherwise playing extremely passive. This weapon is so annoying fighting at base level having this kid just keep running in circles until I get bored and attack and he just spams the broken jumping R1 R1 combo (comes out WAY too fast and has broken tracking) to 2 shot me with bleed. Elden Ring PvP is truly amazing and well balanced lmfao
How, exactly, do you use a feint? Nothing in the game calls any attack this, and nothing anywhere on this wiki clarifies which move it is.
- Anonymous
In pvp this weapons WA has a too many I-frames. Everything from the wind up to the dodge to the attack are all invincible. There’s no interrupting with an attack and the lunge doesn’t miss for anything when in range. Could use some tweaking to balance it out in the arena.
- Anonymous
Seems the helice has been nerfed since this was made. now only sporting 33 bleed. which is a big drop
- Anonymous
I know thrust and pierce attacks hit hard, anyone having doubts will soon be put straight after getting a taste of what Radahn soldiers using partisan and a greatshield, or even worse the dragon knights in leyndell who buff their spear with lightning can do to a high level character's HP bar. but for personal preference, I much prefer slash or strike weapons over thrusting weapons with pierce damage. I don't like the moveset.

Really fun weapon. I don’t usually like Arcane-bleed builds, but man, this weapon is just so fun. The dodge makes it feel like something out of Bloodborne.
- Anonymous
Thrust attacks are probably the least resisted types of attack in the game and bleeding is almost always useful. Probably one the best weapon in the game.

Aight so this has been my main dueling/pve weapon for a while with a DCS in the off hand and I really really enjoy this weapon for its utility, like all great thrusting swords it’s greatest strength is it’s versatility and the ability to go passive chip damage to lethal aggression in seconds if very fun and come naturally with the wide array of chip and fast mix up spells like pocket sand and catch flame. It works very well with my build and is my favorite weapon in the game is what I’m saying. However I can’t feel all that right when I use this weapon cuz of that weapon art. It’s badass, fun as ****, and if you can free aim/ untarget fighting it’s ****ing beautiful but the Iframes make me feel disgusting at points. Not duel nags with BHS levels or even the levels of the katanas and yk I understand like the pvp side everyone has something they are abusing but I want to feel erect when I use this thing not shameful so a de tune to the iframes pls cuz I love this sword, it goes hard it looks hard and goes well with my fashion and the weapon art is badass but I hate feeling cheap
So In conclusion add back chain casting

This has way too many i-frames.
You can use this and dodge and attack without being hit in sequence.
- Anonymous
I use this with a reduvia in the off hand. It's a lot of fun.
- Anonymous
Good weapon against very aggressive players. Especially very good against an RoB L2 spammer.
- Anonymous
What is worse than dual cross-naginatas with bleed and bloodhound's step? Nothing, but this comes close.
- Anonymous
Thrusting and bleed, the two most powerful things in the game in need of a major balance pass both rolled up into one package. People keep focusing on Rivers spammers and not the people using this "bloody" nightmare. You can tell team B AND A made Elden Ring together because thrusting weapons were absurd in Dark Souls 2 but in every game team A works on bleed is OP until it is nerfed.
This weapon is the result of that unholy union.
- Anonymous
Free aim seems inconsistent, sometimes the follow up thrust goes where I am aiming and sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. What’s weird is that it is functional about 80 percent of the time normally, but when I walk into the Godfrey boss room, it goes from inconsistent to consistently trash. This only happens when I try to move forwards with it and thrust forward, otherwise it works as usual

Instead of a Halberd and 'offstoc' (offhand Estoc), ARC builds could run Bloody Helice and 'offspur' (offhand Antspur rapier) for a double- or triple-status effect build that scales great with Arcane
- Anonymous
I did some testing with scalings and infusions and came to the result that there is no heavy thrusting sword with higher ar that doesn't deal split damage.
At max level the Dragonking Cragblade has slightly higher ar but split damage and regarding the other two they only get higher ar than this when infused with cold, but that also has split damage. I know getting all scaling-relevant stats to 99 is... unlikely, but nevertheless I thought this may be an interesting find.
- Anonymous
99 blood loss at plus 9 with 80 arc, the the weapon art seems to act a little like some of the other weapon arts that have inherent blood loss, they must apply more then what is listed under the hood. plays a little like bloodhound fang when you lean it to it, highly recommend checking it out.
- Anonymous
Bloody helice with reduvia off-hand is amazing in pvp. Bleed doesn't build up at ridiculous rates and base damage is great as is. Poke when they get space and slash away when they come in your bubble. Collosal users never expect that single slash between their hits and filthy spammers will forget you have a dagger off-hand and try to start-up trade to death.
- Anonymous
Pro-tip: If you aren't locked on to an enemy, and have your back turned towards them, you can use the skill to quickly lunge at you enemy since the skill propels you backwards. Really great for throwing the enemy off guard.
- Anonymous
This weapon seriously rewards knowing how to play unlocked from an opponent. Turning around right before trading with an opponent and pressing l2 will put you behind your opponent. With testing ive also learned you can face away from your opponent, l2 towards them and 180 r2 into them for a huge gap closing attack but it only works unlocked. If you lock on after the l2 you will only spin 90 degrees towards the enemy. Now if you know how to reverse backstep into this combo you become a finesse god.

I can't decide if I want to use this or a knights greatsword (just for the looks and move set, don't judge me) with blood affinity bloodhound's step. Both look really cool and proc bleed pretty quick with high arcane. I like bloodhound's step a bit better defensively but offensively Dynast's Finesse is a bit more reliable and looks way cooler.
The I-frames of Dynast's Finesse wes tested by modders in the Elden Ring PvP Discord.
It has the same amount of I-frames as Bloodhound step, but 6 frames longer of a recovery time.

I like it. It reminds me of a Twizzler. Looks good with the Cleanrot Knight Set.
- Anonymous
As far as bleed buildup goes this is quite underwhelming, as you can get about double the amount by infusing the Great Épée or the Godskin Stitcher with Blood affinity. What I feel is the main selling point of this weapon is its skill, because you get huge i-frames while at the same time being able to counter the enemy. Also, it looks gorgeous.

People starting using this to counter ROB and eleonora spam... But now so many people are using it and spamming its weapon art. They've become the very thing they've tried to destroy

Spiral rapier easter egg :D <3 Praise the Arcane ! do you hear our prayersss ?

I think the name was mistranslated, as "helice" is not actually a word in English. Maybe it was supposed to be Bloody Helix
- Anonymous
Got a fun build for you all - Helice with Blood infused Palisade shield (Shield Crash). Max out your shield as the blood buildup when you use the shield crash AoW is insane. Helice can also do great pokes around your shield. Shield crash even sends some foes flying, allowing you to 2hand the Halice and stab and use it's AoW.
Combine with the Briar Set for fashion souls. Briar Set is great too as if you roll through an enemy, you'll build up additional bloodloss, plus it does a micro stagger to them.

How much damage is lost by not meeting the arcane requirement?

Elegant and beautiful weapon. Blood weapons in ER are so well designed, give them a try and you will love them!

Lovely move-set, although you might want to carry a faster backup weapon.

So I tested around with a lot of weapons and while there is a number of weapons that are fun to use, I couldn't find "my weapon" for a long time. I went from Axe to Uchigatana/Nagakiba and then ended up using Twinblades, namely Eleonora's Poleblade since it has a lot of style nice damage and monstrous WA, especially for PvE.
Yet I still wasn't completely satisfied.
Then I found this little beauty and what can I say? It's absoloutely amazing!
The Bloody Helice has everything I was looking for in a weapon. It has relatively high attackspeed, backed up with good damage and stagger. This, paired with its quite high innate bleed build up that also happens to scale way better than I innitially thought, made me fall in love with it really fast ngl. I would even say this fine little thing is actually a bit underrated. Especially the WA is REALLY good! There is no broken mechanic behind it. It's just a backwards dodge with more IFrames than a normal dodge has, followed by a long range R2 which can be followed by another R2. Great "counter" WA with good damage and decent stagger.
I feel like the Bloody Helice hits a nice sweet spot where it is not OP by any means but still performs very well against all kinds of enemies + MOST IMPORTANTLY, it looks rly dope!
However, I can't really say how good the damage is in late game. I am only +5 so far and have around 380 AR and around 80 Bleed build up or something like this with 18 STR/30 DEX/40 ARC. (I am using Godricks rune some I am not 100% sure about the exact values here)
Conclusion is, Bloody Helice has nice damage, good bleed, very versatile WA with a lot of "Outplay" potential, great range and nice attackspeed. Paired with the fashion I would say, give it a try if you haven't already!

Youtuber just did some frame testing on this, it has 41 iframes, compared to bloodhound's step which has 40. Really strong weapon art. Quickstep only has 30, while a roll has 26.

Right hand a weapon with "War cry",
Left hand this weapon,
Apply "War Cry" then 2hold this weapon and use R2 to charge and do massive damage with multiple hits and stagger.
Totally broken
- Anonymous
The weapon skill can be parried but i've only been able to do it with the buckler. If you see someone dash back time to bring out the parry tool. Still very inconsistent due to latency and it still does some big poise damage if you miss the parry
- Anonymous
Im willing to trade something for another one of these,, If someone can think of something they want, just message me on PSN... DexySoulS

The weapon art is one of coolest and most versatile ones in the game. If you're locked onto the target, the dodge will be away from the target and the thrust towards it, standard stuff. But if you don't lock onto anything, you have the ability to dodge in any direction, then stab in a different direction again, so a really cool idea is to use this as an extremely long range thrusting attack by looking away from the enemy, pressing L2 then directing the stick towards them and pressing R2
- Anonymous
You can get this pretty quickly on a new character if you beeline for it, and you'll get enough runes along the way for the stats needed.
The first part of the weapon art is similar to quickstep, where you are able to cancel a lot of recovery frames after an attack.
- Anonymous
Weapon is perfect for a prisoners start as radagon will give you the stats needed off rip pump stats for bleed and other bleed based spells. Pair with dragon seal and albernaric staff you have great coverage for close long range with crazy hyperarmor/ iframes
- Anonymous
Originally I wanted to dual wield these, but now I feel like it might be better paired with the brass shield. Two handing the weapon doesn't confer much extra damage, because it has very little strength scaling. However, when paired with a brass shield, you have the option of shield poking as well as weapon art spam. The weapon art is where this weapon shines.

There seems to be some confusion as to what some feel is a reduced blood loss buildup, when actually it's that the patch is allowing it to scale with arcane properly, I have 51 ARC and it has 77 blood loss buildup. Weapons that scale with arcane have their effects increased the higher the stat including poison, bleed, and occult

This thing is pretty cool, operates kind of like a thrusting Bloodhounds fang, WA+R2+R2 is pretty deadly. Can be used poking behind a shield as well and has extra stagger damage being a heavy weapon. A bit slower than a normal thrusting sword as can be expected, but hits harder. Boss that drops it is not too hard, using unimproved wolves

does alexander's talisman work with the attack you chain with the Finesse?

usually im not a fan of dodge ash of wars due to how weird it is to press L2 to dodge but i really like this once. the follow up attack does a ton of damage.
- Anonymous
If you're doing a fresh Arcane playthrough, this is pretty easy to route early on. Boss can be tough at low levels without summons but with +0 wolves you should be able to get free hits/bleeds in with reduvia or greatknife.
Frankly, this thing is phenomenal in PvE and PvP. Somber stone upgrade is great for early game and the Ash of War gives a crapload of iFrames and is great vs most bosses and humans. The poise damage/stagger from the AoW follow-up is very high, feels equivalent to a fully charged R2 to my eye. It also combines really nicely with the Spear Talisman for almost guaranteed additional damage.
Enjoy using this gem.

Does arcane increase the bleed amount? or the physical damage in any way? or both?
- Anonymous
At 32 dex and 65 arcane this thing puts out 620 ar, with a bleed buildup of 100. Combine with lord of blood’s exultation for a nasty 730 ar when you proc bleed. Landing the full ash of war counter attack is nearly guaranteed to kill in pvp unless they are a heavy armor build. Not to mention the running heavy attack is insanely good at catching runners
- Anonymous
If you aren’t locked on to anything and you wait until the moment just before the WA animation ends you can aim the follow up heavy in any direction; even directly behind you. You can close distances very fast if you know what you’re doing.

A very good weapon. I'm currently running an Arcane build with this in the main hand and a Blood Godskin Stitcher in the offhand.
Firstly, aethetically, it's a beautiful weapon and the Godskin Stitcher complements it nicely with a similarly gold hilt and a spiral pommel.
In action, it hits hard, has decent bleed and scales nicely with Arcane (For comparison with 65 Arcane my +7 Helice is doing the same damage as my +14 Occult Grave Scythe with similar bleed build up)
The weapon art gives a bunch of iframes and the first strike from it does huge poise damage. The second attack is kind of meh doing about 1.5x the damage as a normal R1 (Tested against the Trolls around Stormgate with 21STR 20Dex and 65ARC my R1's were doing ~450 damage, the first WA attack was doing ~750 damage and the second attack was doing ~150 + 400 the only positive is as it's 2 attacks it procced bleed easier).
Powerstance moveset is okay, I like the slash on the second L1 attack as it gives a bit more reach and is faster than Helices 1h R1's (Where the slash is on the 4th swing) though the third hit of the L1 combo has a huge windup which is kind of awkward even in PvE.
- Anonymous
Good moveset. Apart from the rolling LT (duel wielding). As it doesn't do both attacks at the same time. But the dashing LT will do both attacks which allows it to proc bleed in one attack. The Weapon art is good for mixups and also for getting some room to breath if using incantations in the left hand. Does tons of poise damage also. Probably one of the better (if not the best) weapons I've used on a arcane build.
- Anonymous
curious how this stacks up to blood great epee, I just got this but I'm not so sure about the weapon art but maybe I need to get good. I like the r1 better on great epee + infusion freedom, but this is so much sexier
