"How do we try and assert that Elden Ring isn't a Souls-game, even though it's the same genre, gameplay, and developer?"
"We could completely reverse the traditional scaling of a repeat weapon, sir."
"Excellent idea intern. Have a cookie."

It looks pretty cool, but I think that it is outclassed by the black bow. The composite bow is only better on horseback, but worse in every other instance.

The strength requirement's less of an issue since you'll always two-hand. Minimum 10, ya?

Traditionally, a composite bow was meant to be good in horseback. If they actually made this bow do at least a little more damage or shoot quicker while riding on Torrent, it would be amazing. Still does the job when you're riding on Torrent, but really wish it had some passive advantages unique to other bows.

Does this actually have a greater range than a regular Shortbow?

The note about the scaling being listed wrong, is wrong. Scaling grades are a range(there's a reason you can do upgrades or change affinities and get the blue highlight without seeing a change in the letter grade). The Composite bow has slightly less STR scaling than the Shortbow, and more DEX scaling.

Does exactly the same damage as the Shortbow, but weighs more and has higher stat requirements. Great job, FromSoft.

If your using this with roa to proc bleed/sleep/poison is it worth upgrading it?
- Anonymous
This is a straight upgrade to the short bow once you have the stats for it, which are pretty low anyways

At +25 with 80 Strength (120 two-handed), 80 Dexterity, Grant Me Strength/Golden Vow, Arrow damage talisman, Blue Dancer charm with no armor, and normal arrows this reaches only 514 Attack rating. Mighty Shot on a Castle Sol Lion Guardian does only 602 damage.
Bows are not a viable option for a build at the moment, use them simply for status application/pulling enemies, for which a Pulley Crossbow does better.

The merchant that sells this bow can be specifically found near bellum church, I don't think I've seen anyone mention this fact yet.
I remember that Composite Bow was good for a Str build, both in DSR and DS3, which it had its own reasons to use.
Now here in Miyazaki's Ring, we have a DEX Composite Bow... Which is something that the other Light Bows and even some Normal Bows have...
Why Miyazaki... Why did you make this...
