I have never seen a single player use this that wasn't terrible at the game, literally all they do is spam the mediocre AoW at you for an easy punish

      • Anonymous

No skill bleed spammers weapon who uses this against Malenia has no right to say they beat her worse than Rivers of Blood smh tbh

        • Anonymous

Worse than rivers of blood, ****ing npc fight made me quit the game for 4 weeks and I play hard games I am good I played sekiro and cuphead already so I am used to frustration but this is just for no skill idiots who spam bleed and sweat in their mom's basement I hope everyone who uses this has a bad day I Hate the makers for adding this weapon that can one shot you and then the dragon spell spam which is also bullshit I hate it **** this weapon it is no skill bleed spammer and worse than rivers of blood.

          • Anonymous

If you meet the stats for this, you can 2H the bloody helice. I use both on my faith/arcane dragon build, and there is not a single problem I cannot solve

            • Anonymous

              Cons

Large weapon with deceptively short reach
Has less bleed than bleed twinblades
Has less AR than fire twinblades
              Very situational AoW
Falls off against bosses like mohg who are 80% fireproof

              Pros

              Stylish AoW
              Stylish weapon
Great stagger and poise break potential (cough cough malenia)
Inflicts a lot of bleed with the AoW (Many hits)
              Fast twinblade moveset
              Low weight
Good for chaining hits (milly's prosthesis, Rotten insignia etc)
Good for flame grant me strength
AR can easily go above 1500 if you land many hits and bleed enemies and have your buffs active.

Total rating: 9/10 weapon, 10/10 twinblade

              • Anonymous

TIL you can get this weapon after killing elden beast even after skipping most of Yuria's quest. I went to the church to get nagakiba and was invaded

                • Anonymous

I've used this weapon quite a bit

Dex arcane build with Millicents prosthesis, rotten sword insignia and lord of bloods exultation (swap for shard of Alexander if you can't bleed a boss), and it NEEDS a nerf, this thing hits as hard as a godslayer greatsword and as fast as a Katana, Jesus christ someone nerf this monster.

                  • Anonymous

A burning tree should be left well alone. Oh I know very well how the elden ring beckons so sweetly. Only an honest death can cure you now. Liberate you from your ambitions.

                    • Anonymous

Absolutely broken in pve, i didn't think anything could match marais executioner's sword in terms of damage. Rotten winged sword insignia, Millicent's prosthesis, shard of alexander, thorny cracked tear, flame-shrouded cracked tear, white mask, lord of blood's exultation, blue dancer talisman, golden vow, and flame grant me strength, this is how we solo malenia, boys!

                      • Anonymous

Weapon bleeds suck, the ash of war moveset is two big which means you can't use safely and since the blees is so low it's better to use a Katana and land some heavy attacks and get the stun instead of using this weapon art... which is a shame on regular enemies is amazing but for bosses? This is a big nop.

                        • Anonymous

Not great. Low blood build up, low and split damage, locked into ridiculous ash of war. Blood twinblade outclasses it.

                          • Anonymous

I don't get what the hype for this weapon is about. I can't even bleed low level bosses, and the damage is barely even considerable at +9. To actually use this weapon, you have to have a setup of physick tears, buffs, consumables, and talismans to even do anything with it.

                            • Anonymous

I have no clue what the hype is about this weapon. I can't even bleed low level bosses at. This weapon doesn't even have very good damage at +9. It's not really a competent weapon unless you have a setup of buffs, talismans, and physick tears.

                              • Anonymous

It's kind of crazy how much damage you can get out of this with the Rotten Sword Insignia + Millicient's Prosthesis + Lord of Blood's Exaltation. A charged R2 has rapid hits that build up the stacking damage buff from the two aforementioned talismans, the multihits build up bleed to proc the Lord of Blood's Exaltation, and you might even stagger the foe with the stance damage.

                                • Anonymous

Most weapons do not have a combination of damage, stagger, speed, and status buildup. That does not apply to this weapon.

                                  • Anonymous

I'm using this on the left hand along with the Godskin Peeler on the main hand and oh boy... I don't even know what to say it's so powerfully good, Winged Sword Insignia, Green Turtle Talisman and any other one depending on the situation. It's a dex/arc build, along with mimic tear it simply melts everything it faces lol

this thing carried me through my first playthrough. i don't touch it anymore ng+7 and beyond, but it still holds a place in my heart.

If only the game had a notoriously difficult boss who happens to be very weak to bleed, fire and staggers. Hmm.

Twinblades are an absolute favorite weapon type of mine in elden ring, and this one is a 100% favorite weapon in the entire game. "There isn't much base damage" L + Ratio + Bleeds you + burns you + staggers you. It's so good. Oh you don't have blood? Fire. You don't burn? Blood. Neither? Stagger. Not that either? Damn dude I'm gonna go crazy aaaa go stupid aaaaaa

What armor set looks good with this weapon I'm trying to make a dex arcane build but I want it to look good

i was using a build with tiwnblades, fire affinity, and fgms, it was so op (killed radagon and elden beast in under 2 mins first try) untill i founds this. works with fgms and has bleed? YES SIR

                                              • Anonymous

Pretty frusrating to use the map link to try locate an item but its impossible because every single item location and place of discovery is covering the map with an a million obnoxious symbols hiding the one item I am trying to locate. Kinda makes it worthless if I have to go somewhere else to find the right image showing the location. Otherwise I almost always come to fextra to expand my knowledge in games, but the map feature desperately needs to be fixed.

                                                • Anonymous

Best weapon in the game, bar none. The raw stats are misleading as the moveset is incredibly versatile, does TONS of stagger, hits fast as lightning, rips through Malenia, and even splitting damage between fire, bleed, and physical, it still tears down health bars.

                                                  • The base damage is very low and it doesnt have good scaling either. A +10 poleblade only has 352 base damage, a +25 flame art twinned knight swords has 468 base damage. Thats 25% less base damage at the same upgrade levels and the trade off is that you get a bit of innate bleed on it. The problem is, enemies weak to fire are usually immune to bleed (tree spirits and avatars) or not worth trying to bleed because they are regular mobs with relatively low health (cleanrot knights and kindred of rot).

The scaling on this weapon is also problematic. The arcane scaling is only rank D and is honestly quite bad. Dex scales better but doesnt affect the fire damage. The end result is lackluster stat scaling. For comparison, Reduvia has C dex scaling and B arcane scaling so it will scale better. The innate bleed doesnt scale particularly well either. Even with 60 arcane, it only scales to 81 bleed which is honestly not that impressive.

Another problem is that you cant take advantage of flaming strike or lightning's strike buffs, which add a flat 90 damage. This is a huge damage difference, especially at lower upgrade levels. A regular twinblade with either flaming or lightning strike will shred regular mobs much faster than the poleblade due to having way higher raw damage, and when stacking elemental damage bonuses from talismans and other sources, kill stuff much faster than the poleblade can.

This weapon feels more like a jack of all trades, but fire and bleed just doesnt mix well together given that you usually want to focus on one or the other, not both. I think it would be a lot better if dex affected the fire damage as well, then perhaps the lower base damage would not be so bad and it probably should also get B dex scaling and C arcane scaling (or vice-versa). You are usually better off running either flaming or lightning strike, and swapping to blood affinity for the occasional high hp boss like fire giant.

The one potential saving grace is the unique skill. On paper, it does absolutely ridiculous poise damage, 6 hits for a total of 42.5 poise damage and the follow up deals 30 poise damage. For comparison, lion's claw with a colossal hammer only deals 45 poise damage. But so far in my testing, it does not appear to deal that much poise damage, it cannot stagger crucible knights for example so they will just kill you during the lengthy animation. Which is another problem, the lengthy animation gets you killed against fast bosses. I need to do more testing on this however. Damage wise and status build up wise, the skill isnt particularly impressive, spinning slash will outdamage this skill and is significantly faster.

                                                    • Anonymous

This is hands down the weakest weapon in the entire game, mainly in PvP I have never found a host or phantom that did any damage at all, or they only spam the weapon art which a a joke to punish.

Anyone saying you need to be far into the game to get this is 100% wrong. Here are the simple steps to get this fast. 1)Go beat up Bloody Finger Nerijus when he invades you near the Murkwater Catacombs. 2)Kill Bloody Finger Hunter Yura just ahead of where the Murkwater Catacombs are. 3)Get both pieces of the Dectus Medallion and go up to Altus Plateau. 4)Run to Second Church of Marika and beat up Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger. Congrats you now have Eleonora's Poleblade. You don't need to progress far into Yura's questline to get this. You just need Yura to die to trigger Eleonora's invasion at the Second Church of Marika.

Imo rivers of blood is inferior to this beast. It has way more range tan the other twinblades and the r2 is a fkin blender. The ash of war not only has a ton of hyper armor, but it's also an almost guaranteed 6 hit combo + a retreating follow-up wich greatly reduces the risk of using it.

                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

if i could give this twinblade a kiss i would, it upgraded my dragon communion playthrough to S tier for me (esp after a rough int/fth start). Twinblades are really fun to use, and to boot even for bosses that are resistant (or immune) to bleed, there's always the fire damage on top (helpful for a certain end game boss or two). The aow won't usually hit people in pvp but if you manage to get them it can hit pretty hard, and in pve it's pretty great (and style points). Usually I try not to re-use somberstone weapons but I am very tempted to find an excuse to use this again in another playthrough

                                                                      • Anonymous

Absolutely love this weapon. As an mage, I suck fighting up close and my dodging skills are horrendous. So since this weapon has multiple hits, has an insane ash of war, bleed build up and fire damage, it basically makes my short comings less punishing.

                                                                        • Anonymous

I find it's best to pair this with Dragon Communion Seal and use Dragonclaw on bosses that are immune to bleed where you would otherwise use Bloodblade dance

                                                                          • Anonymous

This weapon is amazing for PvE as it applies great bleed build up!!!
But it is the worst for PvP because the start of the skill makes you jump backwards and then go forward allowing other players to avoid it by walking backwards!!!

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

Does it bleed as much as other twinblades? No. Does it get a ridiculous weapon art that staggers enemies and bosses extremely easily on top of having bleed? Yes. Scaling mainly to arcane makes using the dragon communion seal alongside it very easy too, overall one of the more versatile twinblades that's strong in more than just status build up alone.

                                                                                • Anonymous

i just love this weapon, it isn't as good at causing bleeding as other twinblades, but the moveset and the ash of war always makes me choose this instead of the godskin peeler or the twinned knight swords. And i also like the quest to get this

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Alright here's how to get this weapon (and Nagikiba) at base level without progressing any questlines other than Yura's. Start game, grab Torrent. Talk to Yura, then run straight down to the Nerijus invasion and kill him (if you're struggling it's vital to run towards Yura so he'll help you). Continue straight ahead and talk to Yura again. Jump up the spiritspring and go to the Third Church of Marika grace. Two things to do from here. First, go to Fort Haight and get the dectus mdeallion half from there. Second take the teleporter to Dragon Barrow. Go down the hill and find the lower bridge on the left side. Head across past Lenne's rise, take the spiritspring. Down to the back of the minor erdtree take the second spiritspring and head to Fort Faroth. Straight in up the first ladder grab the other half of the medallion. Now go back to the Gatefront and run around the back of Stormveil and into Liurnia. Go straight for the glintstone key, enter the academy and kill the Ravenmount assassin (I put enough points to use Reduvia and the bleed makes this fight easy, just let Yura tank, use the weapon art and a few r1s). Talk to Yura again then go back to the closest blue symbol and teleport to the other gate. Run straight to the lift and head up. IMPORTANT: DO NOT REST AT ANY GRACES IN ALTUS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SKIP QUESTLINES! I can confirm that if you don't rest at any graces then Rya will remain in Liurnia, Blaidd with stay in the Mistwood and brother Corhyn won't leave the hold which I assume means none of their quests have progressed. Resting at a grace in Volcano Manor is fine though. It's not worth trying to fight Eleonora, she will one shot you instantly with dragonroar or dragonflame. This makes trying to knock her off the edge difficult too. Instead, (I recommend looking before fighting her, even on another character already in Altus) there's a spot on the cliffs behind the church where you can drop to halfway down. Look for the big rock on the cliff's edge, it's just to the right of that. You want to drop onto that ledge and then stand where it's thinnest, to minimize the chance that she will land safely. I unequipped all my gear too. Once you're ready go into the church, pay your respects to Yura by looting his corpse. Wait just outside for Eleonora to spawn (wait until she actually appears). Book it for the cliff, drop down carefully and just wait. She'll spam dragon spells for a bit but you should be safe. I got it first time, but everyone's luck is different. Eventually she'll jump down and die. Tada! Enjoy your poleblade at base level and intact questlines.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

As with most arcane weapons with split damage leveling arcane over dex is better until 60 arcane. The arcane scales both phsical and fire damage on the weapon while the dex only increases the physical damage. Despite the lower arcane acaling you get more damage overall from arcane. On top of that you also increase the bleed buildup as well.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

It has a unique Skill that complements 2 Exultation Talismans, Rotten Wing Sword Insignia/ Millicent's Prothesis and Flame Grant Me Strength.
Eleonora's Poleblade simply mows down anyone who doesn't resist Bleed or Fire Damage. Poison/Scarlet Rot is an afterthought.

It's questionable if it works the way it's intended though, the rapid hits of the weapon art can stunlock most things in the game. One of my favorite weapons.

"Oh but some C scalings are different blablabla". If a weapon has a better listed scaling it shouldn't scale worse with that stat. How hard is it to make stuff that makes sense, Fromsoft?

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

The weapon art combo brutalizes them and frequently also stuns them when most of it lands, giving you an additional riposte opportunity if they're even still alive at that point.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

I beat her yesterday without her getting a single hit off and the ONLY thing i did was run up to her, start pressing the skill button as fast as i could (and not die after the phase transition). There was no dodging, no timing or avoiding. It was literally just button mashing the skill.

                                                                                                            • Anonymous

Swarm has capability to stop her waterfowl dance when she jumps in the air if timed right, then when she falls, use ash of war to slice her to ribbons. Then during phase two, swarm of flies will help whittle her health as she recovers from her giant flower attack, might trigger hemorrhage

And yes anyone walking into it is an Npc.
Also Erdtree's Favor+2 gives max 90 hp even on 60 vigor, and Draconcrest Greatshield gets nerfed in pvp from 20% to 5%....

Every-time I make a new character or respec it’s only a matter of time before I come back to this

                                                                                                                    • I just started a Dex/Int/Arc build and I adore this weapon. The Bloodblade Dance breaks poise easily & consistently. Damage stacks well with the Winged Sword Insignia(currently working on getting Millicent's Prosthesis to further stack damage)......Oh, fun tip; if you're helping a friend with an invader, coordinate Bloodblade Dance/Waterfowl Dance, they stand NO chance of surviving :D
