Monk's Missive is an Info Item in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Info Item in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Tutorial items provide information about how to add Skills to your Weapons, Crafting advices, Combat tips, and more. They can be obtained through exploration and looting, dropped by specific Enemies or Bosses, or purchased from NPCs
A letter bearing a terse message and an illustration of a monk, his hands held together. "Seek me to the east if you wish to pursue the way of the warrior. When you find me, you will challenge me to a bout. There is no need for words."
Where to find Monk's Missive in Elden Ring
- Castle Ensis: Located outside, past the Ensis Moongazing Grounds Site of Grace. Looted off the ground just behind where Hornsent is standing. You'll also acquire the May the Best Win gesture alongside this key item. [See Shadow of the Erdtree Map]

Use the "May the best win" emote on the monk to begin the duel

I got the missive but I didn't remember where it was. going to the east without knowing from where it's a really bad game design. who write a missive with not real location indication (what if the missive was moved by somebody ?)
at least, add an information on items about where they have been found.

When picking up this item you also get the gesture, go directly east to find the monk who will just "..." for dialogue. Perform the gesture and fight him!

This page is useless, found the paper, read it, meet up with homeboy all he says is "..." note says "no words just fight" swing on the dude and he just vanishes thinking I got locked out of his quest. Hit the grace and he's still there thankfully.
