St. Trina's Torch is a Torch in Elden Ring. The St. Trina's Torch scales primarily with Dexterity and Faith and is a good Weapon for Faith builds looking to inflict Sleep effect with their off-hand.
Candlestand torch that burns with a light-purple flame. The carvings depict St. Trina, but in adult form, somewhat unnervingly.
The light-purple flame induces sleep

pvp players discussing and testing sleep viability of the torch vs. ooo pretty purple light pve players

Would this be good for a pure int or fth spell caster? Staff/seal on the right and this on the left for WA sleep build up?
- Anonymous
Would this be good for pure int or fth spellcasters? Like have this in the off hand with a staff/seal in the right and use the WA to inflict sleep build up?
I was hoping to find a little lore about it, why does Saint trina look like she's ready to break cthulu out of hell and... Try Tarnished, but, HOLE!

I mean, if you can't make sleep pots for whatever reason...I guess this will work.

You don't have to kill the trolls pulling the carriage to get the torch. I felt bad enough about their lives impaled pulling a carriage and didn't want to kill them. I followed/rode it all the way to the end and they take a rest and go to sleep and you can open the chest and get the torch then.

Makes Godskin Duo a much funner fight. You run in, and you're trying to get one of them separated, fast, so you can lay this thing's ash of war on the ground in front of/under it. This'll probably take a few tries considering they're pretty mobile and you have to free aim the breath. Once you've got one asleep, it becomes a hyper aggression fest. You need to burst the other one down quickly before the sleepy one wakes up.
From there it should be smooth sailing, considering fighting one noble or apostle at a time isn't particularly challenging, even a few in a row.

There is another place where we see "adult St Trina": in Melanias arena, the Tree was taking partly human form and grew a head and half a torso. The bottom half of the face is the same as on this torch. And we already know that Miquella is St Trina, so i expect a giant wood mecha with sleepy flamethrowers. The Age of Tranquility
- Anonymous
The face on this torch looks like the face you see in the haligtree roots during malenia's phase two cutscene.
At least that awful fight might be giving us some good lore.

I know there are lists of which enemies are vulnerable to which status effect, if any. This being available in consecrated snowfield is handy though. The giant land octopus here have a stupidly large health pool but this torch puts them right out, much more straight forward to deal with.

really good on my pyro build. slowly buildup sleep on people and then blast them with a charged o flame spell. tons of fun and much harder to pull off than dual trinas into giant hunt
- Anonymous
I've been going round in f**kig circles trying to find this. Plenty of wandering idiots, a rabid stray and just to make it more fun one of the wandering idiots just turned into a rune bear and killed me. This whole area is so much fun.

Best torch, hands down. Great for putting the more "pain in the ass" enemies down for a critical hit, trolls, crabs, lobsters. Handy af my man
- Anonymous
the ash of war is bugged and applies your right armament's buff to its flames.
- Anonymous
I don't think you'd really need to upgrade this considering you're gonna be using it for the sleep buildup rather than damage.

Fromsoft I'm begging, make this into a waist lantern. The color Is just too cool!

Help every time I equip this torch the song riders on the storm by the doors starts playing. I even unplugged my speakers but it just keeps playing!

St Trina priest? The torch/sword in main hand and golden order incantations in off hand. Hit wrath of gold when they fall asleep. Naturally Trina Priests would use fundamentalist spells... we find Causality spell from finding Miquella and find triple rings in Ephael. And the Trina sword channels intelligence/dex while this channels fth along with miquellas knight sword.
Deep lore speculation: Miquella will likely return during an eclipse in a DLC and this eclipse will bring death blight. The haligtree will be the only safe place from the death blight. Just like Griffith of berzerk and his plans with demons. Trina was Miquella being like Jesus and going around the lands proselytizing. We likely find the flowers where ever he’s gone. His missionaries made those cookbooks we can’t beat godskin duo without and he also befriends the albinaurics who have the medallions and the ivory sickle. He also bewitches Loretta to serve the haligtree. The eclipse shotel seems to have been made by Miquella but at the very least points to the coming eclipse bringing death blight and resurrecting soulless demigods from the mausoleums. Death birds will naturally be involved as hinted by mausoleum knight armor and the winged scythe/shotels connection to death. Miquella will prolly be a Christ like figure against the Prince of death but will have likely orchestrated this doom secretly... or realized it was coming due to Causal factors and prepared for it. When he made the Golden Epitaph I believe is when he began to give up on fundamentalism and become St Trina. Latennas sister is also somehow related to this coming eclipse as she is in a deep sleep much like Miquella. Perhaps after he has gained incredible powers from his slumber he will fix the albinaurics and make a new race from them with her.
I’ll copy and paste this to the relevant threads.

It's got a much mellower glow than the other torches. Which makes it worthwhile

the weapon skill makes sleep buildup where the fire is, if the enemy is mobile two hand and whack them with the torch instead
- Anonymous
I'm reading the comments here. Sleep build up like bleed up, like poison, scarlet rot and frost, the weapon applies sleep not only through it's ability but also just by whacking things with it. Build up on a weapon is passive, if combined with a skill the skill certainly will add to the build up. If you want sleep, please do not rely on the weapon skill.

Just go directly Northeast from the Consecrated Snowfield site of grace, and I mean DIRECTLY Northeast, you'll find the hearse just past a large rock. **** whoever put that marker on the map so far north, they probably just wandered around looking for it until they found the hearse far from the initial spawn point, ****ing idiot

begging weapon at the ending of the game just get the sword kinda pointless at this point
Does the caravan only show up during a certain time of day? I can't find it in that location.
Stopped the caravan and a rune bear charged in out of nowhere and destroyed it. That's enough elden ring for today.

To the people wondering why this scales with Faith and the sword with Int, to quote Discuss of Light and Triple Rings of Light incantations:
"A gift from the young Miquella to his father, Radagon."
This gives away Miquella is versed in Fundamentalist Incantations, so for me makes sense that there are items from her that scale with either Faith or Int.
On an unrelated note, my wild guess is that there will be sleep-related sorceries that mirror the Faith/Int fundamentalist incantations in a future DLC made also by Miquella, especially considering she used sleep to help Malenia by stopping the progression of his Rot curse while she tried to perfect the unallowed Neddle.

Please, do not waste your time getting this torch if you're planning on using it for Godskin Duo. Just use pots or the sword if you want something renewable. I cannot stress enough how pitifully little the sleep buildup is. Yes, I tried aiming it at the ground. No, it didn't help.
- Anonymous
Not sure what's up with this but from what I have seen the sword seems to apply sleep far faster despite having lower buildup. Maybe sleep scales with int....? If so, strange.

The Bill Cosby torch map coordinates are way off. Not normally and issue but the snow storm obscures so much i cant find it. My Cosby build cannot be completed because Im blind!

Before you invest into this weapon as a priest: Dont.
I went into the game thinking to create a firepriest with this torch as main weapon to spit fire and add some sleep.
But the fire deals NO damage and the build up is too slow.
Most enemies move fast and wont get staggered when running into the fire, because it deals NO damage.
Which means you use that ability, are rooted on the spot with a slow attack animation, deal no damage and receive hits because you need several usages until sleep applies.
A total let down. It should be a better steel wire torch.

no clue why this is in the game the l2 does absolutely nothing for me no dmg no build up no nothing

This page claims that the weapon can be buffed by magic and consumables, but I haven't found any that work. I tested various weapon greases and the incantations Bloodflame Blade, Electrify Armament, and Vyke's Dragonbolt. It would be cool if it could be buffed, but it seems not. Also, the torch doesn't seem to be able to backstab or do any criticals, so it can't take advantage of the sleep it causes very well.

The dlc will prob have an area full of enemies that do sleep.
- Anonymous
flame grant me strenght and golden vow make this perfectly usable in pve
- Anonymous
Ok so this is actually kind of insane. You get like 550 ish ar st +10 and it swings pretty fast, so decent damage.
But then it has more sleep then the sword, and arguably a better range weapon art. So you can main hand this and put a stronger weapon in your off hand, put enemies to sleep in like 2-3 quick hits or one weapon art then wail on them with your other weapon. I killed the dogs and crows in caelid in ng+ easily to test, 2 hits sleep them and then you can do like 4000 damage before they wake up with soemthing else.

Cannot dual wield torches. Sad. I had an idea of a faith character dual wielding these and coded swords that will no longer happen.

Spawn at the consecrated snowfield grace and travel straight NE - you will always run into it in a few seconds.
- Anonymous
I wanted to see if the melee attack adds sleep so I equiped this in my right hand and a haigtree knight it was only listed as 405 damage but when I smacked him it did 680 without any buffs on me then I tried a charged heavy and it did 803 and he fell over asleep is this thing secretly over powered?
- Anonymous
Not sure if its a glitch or not but I wasnt able to leave this specific item for a friend
The carving of St. Trina on this torch, as mentioned in the description, is bizarre - it shows an almost Medusa-like figure with a "third eye" in its forehead and what looks like years coming out from its other eyes. Unnerving indeed.

I cant open the chest for the curved Sword (there is no "open" prompt) and the Chest for St. Trina's Torch is not even on the carriage. Did i do something to trigger that?

Has anyone tried making a sandman build in PvP where you just quickly put your foes to sleep... then.... just let them sleep while you meditate over their sleeping body. Repeat for 2h.... Sounds kinda fun to me...
- Anonymous
Confirmed with damage numbers and enemies that react in specific ways when hit with fire damage, THIS TORCH DEALS 0 FIRE DAMAGE. It's shows a nice split in its tool tip of about 33% phys 66% fire yet you only get the physical portion
Basically you only deal 1 3rd of its total AR.
- Anonymous
That's some immense sleep build up. I wonder how this performs in PvP? Especially considering it applies during i-frames by virtue of the crappy netcode. Getting an opponent to fall asleep would be a downright death sentence I assume, with spells like rot breathe and what else have you.

So... i put my first enemy on this status with the torch and the game kick me with the anticheat message, be careful
Mine (The caravan) was found right next to the Night Cavalry x 2.

I like the beast torch the most because it will keep any animals that attack to keep a distance from you, but it doesn’t stop them from attacking you if you get close to them. I’ve walked past many rats, wolves, and dogs to just grab the loot and go without being attacked.

Suggest to add info that the caravan containing the torch spawns somewhere at -80 ; 144.7
Both caravans are now added to the map! Curved Sword one: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Interactive+Map?id=4409&lat=-75.88&lng=140.11&zoom=8&code=mapA and the Torch one: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Interactive+Map?id=2964&lat=-76.42&lng=145.84&zoom=8&code=mapA
I found the torch north of the stated location on the interactive map (-73 : 145), the caravan was stationary. I have picture proof.
Been trying to find the 2nd caravan for almost 2 hours and still can't find it..
Really confused by people not finding the torch as I got it from the caravan and have video of doing it... does someone have video of picking something else? Are you sure you’re in the right spot?
- Anonymous
the location is wrong, the caravan gives the flowing sword not the torch
- Anonymous
I just don't get how you can be lit on fire and feel drowsy at the same time
- Anonymous
Hmmm. The fact that this torch scales with faith makes me think St. Trina's straight sword is SUPPOSED to scale with faith. Hopefully they'll fix that in a update in the near future. Would be cool to make a "Sleep Cleric" build.

i looted the caravan wagon and got a "Flowing curved sword" instead... any idea where the torch could be else?
