Carriages are Locations in Elden Ring. Carriages are found throughout the Lands Between. They are sometimes slowly towed by two Trolls from one place to another, and often have a treasure chest in the back. There are also many stationary Carriages, most of which are empty.

Carriage Walkthrough
If the player kills one of the two Trolls pulling a Carriage, it will come to a stop, allowing one to loot the chest in the back.
Elden Ring Carriage Gallery and Notes
- Carriages have also been referred to as Hearses, Wagons, Coffins, and Caravans.
- The game refers to these as Coffins, as seen with the Abandoned Coffin Site of Grace, however since "Coffin" is also used to refer to the teleportation by the game's prompts, and those coffins are far more integral to the game's progression, so for the sake of reducing confusion, this page is named Carriage. The teleportation Coffins are included in the Waygates page.
- They bear a strong resemblance to some Victorian Era horse-drawn hearses, and it is extremely likely that they contain the corpses of fallen war heroes.

I was running around limgrave and opened the chest, got the item (I believe great axe?) and then a kaiden sellsword enemy on a horse just hit the carriage and it disappeared. One of the trolls started attacking me too, so that was pretty chaotic

No need killing the trolls you can just hit thrm and theyll stop

Not sure if it's a bug but killing all the escorts allows for grabbing the carriage item without the trolls stopping.

This specific page could be set up better. There are 2 carriages in Consecrated Snowfield and absolute ZERO indication of which of the rewards come from which carriage.

Troll carriages eventually stop if you wanna be patient, you can hop on just behind the trolls for a nice ride too

You don't actually need to kill either of the trolls pulling the carriages to stop them. Simply attacking one of them once will make them stop temporarily, and with some finesse it's enough to loot the chest on the back.

The Flowing Curved Sword is also in a carriage in the Consecrated Snow Field

I found a bug, it happened to the carriage in Liurnia. While I was fighting the trolls, one of them destroyed the cart like it was a prop. So I ran back to the site of grace, and when I returned, there was seemingly no chest on the cart. However, after the trolls stopped walking, I found that the chest containing the Carrion sword was still there and lootable, it was just invisible.

There is one broken in the filed of caelid wich is always empty idk why.

Having trouble gaining the goods within the carts? Don't wanna wait until the trolls reach their destination? Hit em with mists of slumber and when one sleeps the other will stop, don't stick around too long though because this will break the sleeping trolls chain and when it gets loose it can destroy the cart and the loot inside it! (Temporarily, it'll respawn)

This is worth absolutely f**k all to anyone. Lists what is available from each chest on the caravans but doesn't say which caravan has what in their chest. Might as well have not made the page at all.

did anyone know trolls can destroy can destroy carriages? its really weird because of their size

i rode the carriage in limgrave (the one with the greataxe) to see where it would go and it eventually stops at gatefront where the trolls get tired i guess
interestingly while i was on the carriage my agrro range was massive, way bigger than normal and enemies that shouldn't have seen me ran towards me
Lol i just let the trolls to stop at the gatefront ruins and then loot the chest without agroing anything
