Deathtouched Catacombs Walkthrough
At the entrance of the catacombs, you will find a tormented spirit. Open the wooden door, and enter. There is a Site of Grace immediately after. Head down and turn to the left, prepare to fight some Skeletons. Some are melee combatants, while others are ranged ones. Remember that skeletons need to be “killed again” once they are down to be put to rest, if not, they will keep returning to life. You will find 2 Grave Glovewort (1) in the first big room.
Keep moving further down, there are more skeletons in the next room. Beware of the Ranged ones that are on the platform as you turn around., get to safety quickly. There is a Grave Glovewort (1) to the right side of the room.
There is a body against a wall that contains Bloodrose in the next room. Also in that room, you will find a statue with a lever, activate it. Retrace your steps, and as you reach the stairs when you fought the first skeletons. Drop down and enter a narrow corridor, now open. More skeletons await, as well as Grave Violet and Grave Glovewort (1). Kill them and take the left exit, you will reach the elevated platform from where the ranged skeletons were shooting you previously. Deal with them. At the end of the platform you will find another Grave Glovewort (1) and a Uchigatana on a hanging body.
Get back to the beginning of the Catacombs, to the room after the Site of Grace. You will notice that the big door is now open. Enter to fight the Black Knife Assassin. Once you have dealt with her, you will obtain an Assassin's Crimson Dagger and the dungeon will be completed. Before leaving, don't forget to loot the chest to obtain a Deathroot.

Is there any other bosses that start at reduced health? I get why it is lore wise, it's just weird if this is the ONLY guy that is pre-injured. Hell, are there any regular enemies that do?

Test to see the posting messagfe cos i missed it. Sorry Wiki

This black knife assassin has some interesting lore to it, severely injured and has lost their invisibility cape. Makes you wonder just how many of the ones who fled the capital alive were actually able to get out in good condition.

So this guy(?) is clearly injured, like half health at start and I think is covered in blood. What's up with that, did D get a hold of em or something? They clearly escaped injured from something..

Thanks Fextralife. Did my whole playthrough looking for the Uchigatana and I never found it, until now. The one catacomb I missed is where it was, typical :)

Did the boss start off with half health for anyone else? It made the fight easier, but Im not sure if it was intended or a bug of some kind.

Great first location for the Bandit class, run in and get the Uchigatana, two hand it, and then slice foes up. Then either level strength by 2, or get a scarseal or talisman for strength if you'd rather not add to it.

What does it mean when entering for the message to pop up “beast eye quivers”?

does the spirit acknowledge you killing all the enemies? i believe i’ve killed them all but it still says the same line

Can easily dodge and run all the way to the lever, grab the Uchi upstairs and tap the Boss room without a scratch.
Ah yes, final deathroot
