Yelough Anix Ruins Walkthrough

Of note in these ruins is the Unendurable Frenzy spell found in a chest in the underground treasure room. The entrance to the room is found west of the central section of the ruins, surrounded by walls from all sides. The maddened Giants can destroy the walls using Unendurable Frenzy (the cascading orange lights that emerge from their eyes), allowing you jump the wall using Torrent. Alternatively, the larger structure to the east of the basement has on its western side a sloped broken pillar that can be used to Torrent double-jump. There is also a Stonesword Key far in the north inside a small open structure.

God I love all the King in Yellow references!

“Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
      The shadows lengthen
      In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
      But stranger still is
      Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
      Must die unheard in
      Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
      Shall dry and die in
      Lost Carcosa.”

      -Robert W. Chambers

A sprinting dismount off Torrent will sling you through the open window on the NW side (the window you exit the room by)

First there's the cloak wearing trolls. You'll easily see them first. What you DON'T see however, is the fact that 1-2 - it might even be 3 - Spectral Dragonkin(!) Soldiers show up out of nowhere as well. Yes, the same guy as what was in the Lake of Rot and below Nokstella. They have a sweeping arm attack that generally will oneshot Torrent that, from my experience, they always open with as their 1st attack. Unlike Lake of Rot/Nokstella, these guys are NOT slowed down, so are going to be moving around far faster. As a piece of advice, head towards the frozen river that cuts across this entire section of the map. Once you do, the blizzard dies down and its vastly easier to see what is going on. If you try to go straight to the ruins from the 1st grace you come to, you'll be going in effectively blind due to the blizzard. And the Dragonkin, even though they are 'glowing' are still near impossible to spot until they're right on top of you. Of course, it doesn't help that if you do come from the Grace and are sprinting on Torrent, you'll more than likely have passed directly over/through the spawn point for one of the Dragonkin, so have no idea it just spawned behind you. Meanwhile, if you go north to the river instead, then head west and turn down to the ruins (use the map) once you're directly north of them, you will usually manage to keep them from spawning in unless you head to the open area east/southeast of the ruins. Then its just dealing with the troll, or rushing to the basement, your choice.

Repeatedly ran into the issue of being unable to roll or jump here at random no matter how much I spammed even if the attacks weren't going in my direction from the giant trolls. Very odd.

            • There are 2-3 Invisible Dragonkin ghost soldiers at the front of the ruins in the empty snow area. You can only hear their footsteps and when you get close they appear. They seem to regenerate endlessly. I killed 3 of them and they keep coming back.

Jumping in the walled ruin that contains the cellar is pretty easy to do with Torrent and there are multiple spots to do so.
Once you grab the treasure, you can either jump out with Torrent in a corner or simply roll through the window.

The hidden basement is not in the central section of the ruins, it’s in the single small room in the west of the central section.
