Mistwood Ruins Walkthrough
You can discover the path to Mistwood Ruins by interacting with an antique spectral tree located south of Third Church of Marika, alongside the main road. Upon examination, grace will manifest as a golden human spirit that will wander without a clear destination. The spirit often disappears, but its footsteps can be traced not to lose track of it. Finally, the grace manifestation will arrive to the hidden ruins and fade away.
One questline begins in Mistwood Ruins. Players may come across some howling. If you look up at the taller parts of the ruins, you may come across Blaidd. You will have to speak to Merchant Kale in the Church of Elleh to continue this questline. When interacting with Blaidd, make sure you have no wolf attire on as this will make him hostile towards you and may affect the progress of your quest.

Worth noting that it seems like the Runebear in the ruins is being kept asleep by the Trina lilies around it and will wake up if you pick them. (At least as far as I've gathered the bear only wakes up if you pick the flowers or attack it. Haven't checked if you cen wake it up by being loud around it.)

I have no wolf stuff on and haven't killed a rune bear and ol' Blaidd came out swinging a huge sword. Have no idea why he didn't talk first but there ya go. Was dead in two strikes.

Walkthrough is wrong. Blaidd's hostility is not dependant on what you are wearing. If you killed any Bear/Runebear (even the one that acts as that one cave's main boss), he will be hostile. The only way to revert him back to friendly is to go to the Church of Vows in Liurnia, get a Celestial Dew and use it to reset aggression.

do they really expect me to go back and check all 50 NPCs every time I talk with a new NPC? I stumbled upon a howling werewolf on top of tower and only way to advance with him is to talk to the basic merchant fella at beginning of game first. There is Zero hint to lead you onto that tho. map is huge and has dozens of NPCs. How was anyone to figure that out on their own except by pure luck. If they are gonna pull that overrated edgy bs in an open world game at least give us even a single tinniest fricking hint so we can use our brains to figure it out instead of pure luck. that walking turtle castle has a hint sold by merchant for a obvious as **** solution, his feet, only accessible thing have big glowing smashy rocks which one needs to attack. like, no ****, everyone would've figured it out but even that had a hint for it.

What counts as "wolf attire" for the purpose of talking to Blaidd? Is the Kaiden set safe to wear?
After talking to Kale and receiving the fingersnap gesture, come and use it on the west side of the ruins, you will meet an NPC called Blaidd whom you may recognize from one of the loading screens.
Easily be beaten, if you stand in the stairway to the chest
