Contradictory scaling. Florissax's dragon transformation boosts Dragon Cult incantations via the Priestess Heart, while the Rock Heart transforms you into a more masculine dragon that boosts Dragon Communion incantations. One would think that this weapon would have inherent lightning damage and scale with faith. I suppose since shes the founder of Dragon Communion it makes a bit of sense, but I do think faith scaling makes more sense.

This absolutely could and should have been a faith arcane weapon, the character and her weapon are literally lore wise the bridge we needed/suspected between the dragon communion and the ancient dragons, it would have made perfect sense gameplay wise too finally giving dragon communion players a proper assigned weapon (the one we got is quality??)

Please note : if you give the dragon priestess Tholliers black sleep potion for her ashes + the incant, you lose the possibility of getting this weapons + the priestess heart in your playthrough (check wiki page with thollier and his black sleep potion)

Does anybody else have issues with the range of the skill? Sometimes I hit things and sometimes it goes behind them?
I could be stupid, but it's irritating when I miss an enemy, take a micro step in any direction, and then suddenly hit them perfectly

Anyone know if the description means this deals bonus damage to dragons, or if its just referring to it dealing pierce damage that dragons are less resistant to?

Shadow of the Erdtree easy mode:

80 Arcane, 58 strength, whatever vigor/mind/stamina you feel comfortable with. Put the rest into dex (I only have 20). No need for int or faith

-Flowerstone gavel +10
-Poison perfume as secondary weapon

-Talismans: Godfrey icon, lightning scorpion charm, shard of Alexander, kindred of rot exhalation

-Physick: Lightning cracked tear, spikey cracked tear

Bossfights: use the weapon art on poison perfume to poison yourself and trigger rot talisman bonus. Switch to flowerstone gavel. Chug physick. Spam charged weapon art. Win.

Exploring: Switch the rot talisman for the blessed dew magic talisman. No need to worry about triggering poison because you can just delete enemies without the extra buff

I find it funny how the Dragon-Hunter, a weapon heavily stylized with Dragon Communion, doesn't have Arc scaling. But the Flower stone, a weapon that has lots of benefits for a Dragon Cult build because of its lightning debuff, is the one that is made for Dragon Communion users. I'm not complaining, I just think that's kind of funny

You don't need any of the correct attributes for the Ash of War to work and apply the Debuff making this actually a really good option for a pure faith build.

Decided to play around with this on my character who just happens to be 43 Arcane 11 strength 16 Dexterity, fully upgraded to +10 Flower Dragonbolt was hitting with almost 1000 AR with no buffs or anything. Pretty pretty good.

Scales off Arcane, but debuffs lightning resist?

There's literally no Dragon Communion incantation that deals lightning damage outside of the very underwhelming Bayle "remembrance," and all the dragon cult incantations that actually use lightning scale off faith.

Some weird decisions here.

This seems like it was meant to work with Dragon Communions builds running Bayle's Flame Lightning. That's my guess, but I use Placidusax's ruin with it like a pleb XD

Tested on the crouching Omen by the Underground Roadside site of grace one-handed with Godfrey Icon, Shard of Alexander and the Lightning Scorpion Charm. At 99 arcane with minimum strength/dexterity requirements, the weapon had an attack rating of 552 and Flower Dragonbolt dealt 2377 damage. At 99 strength with minimum arcane/dexterity requirements, the AR was 566 and the skill dealt 1268 damage. At 90 strength, 90 arcane, and minimum dexterity, the AR was 704 and the skill dealt 2350 damage. So it seems that the damage of the skill scales entirely off of one's arcane.

this is busted for pve. the AOW damage seems to scale from AR as well, I tested with different stat spreads between str and arc and it was very similar (22 str 65 arc and 37 str 50 arc). Someone should test it with full str vs full arcnane. The AOW gets boosted by all of the lightning damage boosting items. This also has pierce damage which is amazing for a hammer. And no split damage!

Strange that this scales only with Arcane when Dragoncult incantations (and Gavel Stone seal) only work with Faith builds.

I think it'd be cool if the skill got boosted by things that empower dragon spells i.e. Dragon Communion Seal+Princess Heart

Probably the strongest item from the dragon questline/route, the skill deletes everything from decent range, really good at dealing with the stronger elite mobs, so strong against bosses you might want to not use it at the start to see the fight more,recommended to +10 if you want to smite your foes with lightning.

One of the biggest problems of dragon communion builds was the complete abscence of a good weapon to pair them with. There where options, but the requirements and the scalings were never worth It. Then I found this weapon. At first the scaling may seem strange, but at +10 with a decent spread in arcane and strength it can reach up to 800 damage. And that Is not even the best part. The weapon art combos perfectly with the dragon transformation, as It lowers lightning damage negation, making dragon cult incantations even more op. A charged lightning spear can deal up to 2000 damage with the right talismans! All in all It may not be as choreographic as other DLC weapons, but It sure gets the job done

YO. This thing is absolutely NUTS. What the actual hell.

With 85 Arcane stat, using Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon and the Lightning Cracked Crystal Tear, I am currently hitting the albinaurics in the palace for a touch over 3000 damage per fully charged cast, 2000 with no charge. The lightning also has a small AoE around it! Absolutely crazy for 16 FP. I was able to hit some of the Messmer Soldiers in the DLC for 4500+ damage in one hit with this same setup (if striking them while they are unaware). Insane.
