Please, FromSoft, if you are reading this, we here are BEGGING you to make Scarlet Rot buildup scale with Arcane!

I love this weapon aesthetically and it's AoW is cool af but even putting aside the lack of hyper armour on the AoW the weapon atm is outclassed in everything but looks by the Guardian's Swordspear with The Poison Flower Bloom's Twice AoW in terms of damage and having similar rot application time. I feel to make this actually worthy of being a Rememberance weapon it needs not just a damage boost and hyper armour on the AoW but to also apply the stronger version of Scarlet Rot you get from Incantations since Incantation applied Rot is about twice as strong as Weapon applied Rot.
Another option I would love to see is since this is almost a pure Arcane scaling weapon was if the Rot build-up on this weapon actually scaled off of Arcane otherwise the Arcane scaling feels a little wasted over something like a Faith scaling.

its so damn pretty just a shame its a spear and generally bad..
- Anonymous
the weapon cannot be buffed with consumables or incantations.
- Anonymous
Why do From always making this super long animation with no hyperarmor, what were they thinking?
- Anonymous
please give this and rotten butterflies hyper armour like the winged scythe and scarlet aeonia..
- Anonymous
This should have faith scaling.
It would make sense thematically and would make using this with her Incantation less awkward on a build.
It would also be a nice buff.

Love her and her weapon. Smash 100% (would love to lick that rotussy)

Very nice weapon, if you do not like to spam WAs. Moveset, rot, damage, looks, it has it all. However, there are far better arc somber weapons with FAR better weapon arts. They should either buff the wa or make scarlet rot scale off arc. Preferably the former. Also this is pure arc weapon, not dex/arc unlike say morgott's or eleonora's, despite dex requirements
- Anonymous
literally cant even use the weapon art on a wild boar without getting knocked out of it
- Anonymous
What level of rot does this apply? It can also be different depending if an auto or the weapon procs the rot.
- Anonymous
It needs a good buff to be worth it. Or maybe it's good if you want to do some challange run. Other rot weapons are quicker to proc it, the ash of war is nigh useless on how easy it is to be interrupted with it, and guardian swordspear and Loreta's sickle with simiar moveset have higher damage (and the former can be infused with more useful ashes of war to boot). A shame really, it's a beautyful weapon and a neat ash of war in concept. Again though, needs a buff.

Fun fact you can see this weapon and most likely Romina in the DLC's lore trailer. The timestamp is 1:13.
The weapon art animation os so god damned slowly starts, you will get hit out of it most of the times.

I adore this weapon. It looks cool, has a great moveset, and despite how easily you get knocked out of its skill I still find it very fun to use. I'm hoping to find a red/pink armor set to match its aesthetic, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'd say I have a bit of a mixed review on this so far. It's very cool to have a halberd with the Guardian's Swordspear move set that also does innate scarlet rot buildup. However, the weapon art needs a major buff in hyperarmor similar to the Flower of Aeonia incantation from Malenia because just like the early version of that, you get knocked out of the cast very easily, I think pretty much any damage cancels it. With a good hyperarmor buff and some tweaks, it has a lot of potential but won't be a main Arcane weapon for me until then.
It is odd that the weapon art is screwed up exactly the same way Scarlet Aeonia was initially; seems like they could have seen this issue coming given the problem with using it is almost identical. The buff made Scarlet Aeonia so much better, which I hope happens for this weapon soon.

took hitting bayle the dragon till he had like 30% health left just to get him rotted. might have some niche tactic in pvp but isnt the most effective for rotting in pve. damage isnt the highest but anything aside from a boss (theyll almost be dead already) will die before getting rotted.
It says it can't be infused with ashes of war, but can it be buffed? Like the Ripple Crescent Halberd?

personally I love this weapon, fun way to spread rot, I know that WA has poise of wet paper bag but still if you can do at least one hit with it it will stagger most mobs even heavy knights, stil would like to see buff to poise in WA

I was originally pretty excited for this halberd since it seems to have solid base damage along with decent Arcane scaling, but in practice I feel it struggles with the same issues as some other scarlet rot weapons: the status buildup is slow, and the inability to infuse different AoWs makes it inflexible.
The AoW is kind of decent for questing though (I haven't tested it much vs bosses). You can target enemies from far outside their threat range, and the ability will do all the work of moving you forward, slashing twice, and even floating away outside of range again.

What kind of AR it has on arc build? Most arc weapons have innate bleed/poison so they get lower AR to compensate. Since scarlet rot doesn't scale with arc I would expect it to have pretty good AR

i was expecting this to be my new fav weapon since its a halberd with the guardian swordspear moveset and does scarlet rot and looks sick, which is why im so disappointed with it
The skill is completely useless in every situation ever. You get absolutely 0 hyperarmor and with how slow it is you will get knocked out of it 90% of the time. Like it is actually unusable. If you get lucky and actually hit the enemy with both of the attacks (insanely rare) it literally does like 1300 DAMAGE (and thats WITH shard of alexander). And for some reason it costs 24 fp which is just crazy.
This also has the terrible double-hit charged R2 of many halberds, and combined with that useless skill it means there is no consistent way to do stance damage aside from just regular R1s which just feels terrible. Any other halberd (or any weapon of any weapon class) with something like giant's hunt or impaling thrust is instantly 10000000x better

been trying to use this for the npc fight near the end of the game and has anyone else noticed that npcs just do not get rotted? like i swear i hit these guys like 30 times with this thing and they die before it procs. maybe im going insane

The only downside to this weapon is how bright it is, can't seem to find appropriate drip for it
- Anonymous
the AoW has no poise, any dmg gets you out of it which is kinda lame cuz the AoW is coolio, n i kinda wish the arc could effect the rot buildup but oh well, still a cool weapon

A scarlet rot weapon that is actually unique? Check.
A halberd with the better moveset? Check.
Looks good visually? Check.
Has occult-style scaling? Check.
I think I'm in love

What's up with Fromsoft putting ARC scaling on random things ? None of the other Rot themed weapons or spells are based off Arcane, but this one does ? (Same for the Meteoric Greatsword). Meanwhile the Dragon Communion katana has no ARC scaling...

Wow - this is like my fav weapon so far - Same moveset as guardian swordspear, longer range (looks like it at least), with a really nice AoW that if you position it right blends mobility and damage, with rot build up on the side
