Ripple Crescent Halberd is a Halberd in Elden Ring. The Ripple Crescent Halberd scales solely with Arcane and is a good Weapon for any Arcane build with its decent range and flexible moveset, and is great for Arcane casters in need of a buffable weapon.

Weapon wielded by young Albinaurics.

The blade is said to resemble a partial image of a ripple, and its attack power scales with one's arcane attribute.

Where to Find Ripple Crescent Halberd in Elden Ring

The Ripple Crescent Halberd weapon can be found at the following location:

  • Has a low chance to drop from Albinaurics that wields it, found in Academy Gate Town
    • A group of three Albinaurics who wield this weapon can be found at the first ruin to the east of the Fallen Ruins of the Lake Site of Grace in Liurnia [Elden Ring Map Link].
      • Two Albinaurics can be found sitting at the southern end of the ruin. One can be found standing on top of the ruin.
  • Drops fairly quickly near the Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace. Just past the shoreline, there is a tree with half a dozen or so enemies carrying this halberd.

Elden Ring Ripple Crescent Halberd Notes & Tips

  • Weapon Skill: Spinning Slash
  • This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War, but can be buffed with Magic and Consumables.
  • This is one of few arcane scaling weapons that can be buffed, as arcane scaling increases status-effect buildup as well as damage, this is ideal for a melee arcane build that uses a lot of greases.
  • Grease Statistics
    • Keep in mind that the only greases that scale with Arcane are: Blood Greases, Poison Greases, and Soporific Greases
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Crescent Halberd and 45 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 177
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 225
      • Blood Grease - 84
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 107
      • Soporific Grease - 93
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 118
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Crescent Halberd and 60 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 200
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 254
      • Blood Grease - 94
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 121
      • Soporific Grease - 105
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 133
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Crescent Halberd and 80 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 208
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 264
      • Blood Grease - 99
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 125
      • Soporific Grease - 109
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 139
  • The Ripple Crescent Halberd has less Status Grease Build-Up the its axe counterpart, The Ripple Blade. However, the Ripple Crescent Halberd has significantly longer reach and an inherently superior moveset due to being a halberd. Also, in PvP, the extra Status Build-Up the Ripple Blade has over the Ripple Crescent Halberd is purely overkill since both weapons already proc Poison and Sleep in just two hits using their respective Drawstring Grease.
  • Spell buffs like Bloodflame blade don't appear to scale properly on this weapon, however.
  • Ripple Crescent Halberd can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones.
  • Sell Value:  er runes 13 100
  • Base drop rate is 2% (at 100 Discovery)

Those who are complaining about this not having ashes of war have not played against an arcane build using this in PvP.

      • After some testing I found out how much build-up each type of arcane scaling grease does when put on this halberd for each major arcane soft cap. I put the statistics in the notes and tips section of the page.

If you do the rune farm except instead of killing those downhill from the palace approach road grace kill all those in the blood-filled lake as well (not the one that summons the giant skeleton, leave that f**ker alone) without anything to boost discovery you'll get a load of these things. I've been selling them to the merchants for bonus runes from the farm runs.

          • Anonymous

if you wanna get everything in the game or are planning on grinding for a few weapons with low drop rates this should be one of the first things you grind. Amazing AR for a pure Arcane build and with low stat requirements too hell I'm powerstancing these things at 80 arcane and can do just fine grinding an area like Haligtree.

            • Whenever a weapon has arcane scaling, it not only increases the damage, but also any status effect build-up on it. This and the ripple crescent axe are the only (I think) arcane scaling weapons that can be buffed.

HOWEVER, spell buffs like bloodflame blade don't seem to function properly on them as it took about as long for me to bleed the mad troll outside volcano manor with this on 55 ARC as it did for me to bleed him with a banished knight halberd. Blood grease worked significantly better. So basically this is the ideal weapon for a melee arcane build that relies on greases instead of innate build-up but avoid using bloodflame blade, poison armament, frozen armament, etc. until they fix their functionality with this.

i feel bad for all the people saying it was really hard to get without any drop items. i got one without knowing about the weapon and then ,when i noticed the arc scaling, i tried for another and got that one too without any noticeable time investment . Good luck to all those looking into this weapon i have low arc btw I'm still building the char.

"You can make your faith 15 and use Dragon Communion Seal to buff the weapon with Electrify Armament for extra damage. with 80 Arc and 15 Faith you will get 81 lightning buff."
As the pages for weapon buffs note, weapon buffs ONLY take into account your Seal's faith scaling. You'd be better off with one that scales only with faith rather than the Dragon Communion Seal, no matter how high your arcane stat.

I don't know how long it took, but it was enough to gain 400k runes just farming these guys. 291 discovery. I guess that means a drop rate of around 0.1%?

                    • Anonymous

Tried for about an hour on Mohgwyn's area, using the Sacred Relic Sword for it to be as fast as possible. Did not drop, even with 256 Discovery. Next day, got three of them on the first try. This game's RNG, man...

                      • Anonymous

                        A whole 81 lightning buff!??? That's... underwhelming.
Also as it says in another part of the wiki, electrify armament only scales to faith, so having 15 faith and a seal that scales more to arcane is literally the most counterproductive thing you can do.

STOP THE PRESSES…have this and night rider halberd and super low at numbers like low 300s, had to do the valiant gargoyle fight which is the worst in the game for me, so decided to just go for it, they are super weak to arcane apparently! Beat them first try for the first time ever, give this one a look!

I'm curious who figured out the "2%" drop rate and how. Because I've been farming for hours. I've killed over 300 of the halberd wielding albinaurics with 120 item find. A bit of quick maths suggests I'd have about a 99.8% chance of having found at least one by now at just 100 item find. I'm pretty bitter right about now...

Hilarious weapon with greases, and ChasetheBro recently showcased how good it could be. I finally crash-tested this yesterday for great results -- and not only is the high status build alone good, but it also meshes with the Pulley Crossbow in the offhand for a full-on status build. Rot people, sleep them, bleed them, so many options -- Black Key bolts with a Rot Grease will rot people in a single barrage, Bleed grease and Barbed Bolts will deal over 60% of the bleed bar. The halb itself is still the main source of damage, don't spam the crossbow -- just having sleep grease on and poking deals over 40% of the sleep bar plus damage, while the crossbow can be partially poised and doesn't take advantage of phantom hits as well.

Drops fairly quickly near the Moghwyn Entrance grace. Just past the shoreline, there is a tree with half a dozen or so enemies carrying this halberd. Took me 20 minutes or so of farming for it to drop.

Do the damage greases (fire, magic, holy etc) scale with arcane on this? Or do only status effect greases sale?

"Directly East" of the Fallen Ruins Grace apparently means mostly east and slightly south. The compass has notches on it for a reason. Come on, guys.

It just dropped from one of the red albinaurics circling around a tree in thr middle of the moghwyn area. The item had that purple color of the rare/unique objects... Maybe it is a guaranteed drop from that one dude? Can someone try again?

                                      • Anonymous

So, I’ve been helping folks out with Godskin Duo and powerstanced these are like pseudo-Seppuku halberds. Two L1 attacks would trigger bleed. I think powerstance Seppuku bleed weapons are obviously better.

But if you REALLY want to use arcane greases or the flexibility of buffing your weapons with high arcane, these are your weapons.

                                        • Anonymous

Discovery 235... Did fallen ruins for hours, first try at dynasty mausoleum. Maybe I got lucky but it would have been more runes to start there.

                                          • there is an effect that is unique to these "ripple weapons":

they are enchantable. this means that despite their high arcane scaling, they can still utilize bloodflame blade, as well as the greases (i.e. blood, rot, soporific grease).

so, while their AR is mid-range, they get insane benefits for other status effects that scale with arcane, to the point where you may overly rely on them.

                                            • Anonymous

You use this with bleed, poison, or sleep grease since it will cause them to scale with arcane. Specifically sleep grease, it’s way better than St. Trina’s sword at putting things to sleep.

                                                at +24 and with 65 arcane, it deals 205 + 389

with the silver tear helmet equipped, giving 73 arcane, it deals 205 + 387, and so loses 2 damage... helmet bugged? stats confused? hitting enemies does show to deal 2 less damage so it seems something is off here? Can someone please correct me if I'm just stupid..

I actually got it from the red ones in mohgwyn palace. Before the boss I was collecting runes there and got a few

                                                  • Despite the high Arcane scaling, its low base damage means it will typically be outperformed by other normal weapons with Occult affinity

                                                    (This info is wrong)

                                                    This weapon has 671 AR

Occult Banished Knight Halberd = 666

                                                    Occult Halberd = 661

Also, you can make your faith 15 and use Dragon Communion Seal to buff the weapon with Electrify Armament for extra damage. with 80 Arc and 15 Faith you will get 81 lightning buff.

Weapons like this and Regalia of Eochaid make it possible to consistently damage enemies and bosses that suffer no status ailments, such as specter, gargoyle, and golem bosses.

                                                      Also Crucible knights don't bleed.

So, I’ve changed my tune on these. Are there better halberds? Probably and definitely. However, these do happen to have a niche for arcane casters to squeeze out a few more stat points if they’re going for a certain level.

It would be a non-bleed arcane build which is generally not meta, but in PvE, powerstancing these deals solid damage and the jumping R2 has some stagger power. Since Spinning Slash is kinda underwhelming and having no STR scaling means there’s no real reason to 2H it means using a buckler or using Golden Parry/Carian Retaliation are great options. Being a halberd, it has great reach. Keeping a catalyst in one hand, I like to cast Swarm of Flies on an enemy, then follow after it a jumping powerstance L1. Because of the high arcane stats with Dragon Communion Seal, the bleed is triggered quickly (at 63 arcane it was taking 4 hits of the cloud to proc it) and then you come slamming in with the halberds. I can one shot enemies in Farum at RL 125 because of this.

It’s a slower style compared to powerstance dual seppuku weapons, but it’s safer as you have good reach, ranged bleed spell, and feel less punished to use a shield to address situations. Not dedicating as many points to STR/DEX like other weapons means a little more to INT/FTH.

One downside: for buffing, you’ll need to use a different catalyst outside Albinauric and Dragon Communion. But otherwise, you can reach solid AR from elemental buffs due to scorpion charms and tears.

So, it can be surprisingly versatile as other occult halberd/scythes either require some quality to work or locks you into a non-buffable bleed.

While not meta, it definitely stands on its own with the right build.

Dont know how this comparison was made, i guess under 50 arcane? Dont compare s scaling weapons with anything else before you reached their softcap.

This weapon seems to be bugged, I have 99 arcane for farming, the status windows shows this at +24 has 55 more damage than the ripple blade at +25, but when hitting enemies the ripple blade still does around 100 extra damage per hit in comparison using the same setup.

                                                            • Anonymous

Just a heads up, the value of this weapon isn't in its standard attack rating. It does low damage on its own. It's valuable because it's S-tier Arcane scaling *that can be enchanted*. You can stack Bloodflame Blade on this.

...and the downside to that is that the Arcane-scaling seals are still bugged (as of 1.03) to not account for Arcane and only account for Faith, so you don't really see any bonus from that. But once they fix that bug, max arcane, slap Bloodflame Blade on this for buffed up bleed and an extra ~150 fire damage, and you've got a pretty rad weapon.

Farmed one of these for my Arcane build. The damage is very disappointing. Better to just use something infused with Occult.

                                                                • Anonymous

I recommend farming this near the Fallen Ruins of the Lake Grace, to the right there's a bullet shaped ruin with three albinaurics wielding this. Two are sitting at the bottom, and one is up the ruin. Super fast and efficient farm, took me 5 minutes with 240 disco.

                                                                  • Anonymous

The low base damage for this and the ripple blade make me hesitant to use these even with S scaling in arcane, along with no ashes of war, even if they can still be enchanted. Is it worth using these over a weapon of the same type that can be given a skill and occult scaling? Worth noting my arcane stat will be at 80 (or 70 if it turns out 80 is a little too excessive)

                                                                    • Anonymous

Four guys with this weapon pop out of the ground when you enter the bit of ruin they're surrounding (you can see their heads sticking up) at

I plugged the coords into a link for a different location. The "id" parameter seems to be required, but it doesn't mean anything for this.

                                                                      • Anonymous

why couldn't they have given the ripple weapons the goofy roll the albinaurics do as the skill instead of being stuck with spinning slash or wild strikes?

                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Just had one drop while going through Mohgwyn (at the end before the boss lift). Seems cool, and I love me a good halberd, but the fact that it can't be Ashed means I'll use something else for my Arc character, something that can be Bloody.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                        • Anonymous

Just target farmed this. Running gate town is for the birds. There's a site of grace currently not on Fextralife's map in one of the ruins between the rose church and the gate town waypoint. The other ruin on this route, slightly further east, has 3 of the appropriate creatures. A full loop on Torrent takes less than 60 seconds. That being said, at ~300 souls a run, I still hit 40k souls before it dropped. It's rare. Really rare. Ran this at 15 arcane at the time.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

This drops from the bloated turtle looking guys in the Liurnia swamp, took me about 15 kills to get.

Early in the game, it's a very odd weapon. There is no scaling except for arcane which starts at a B, and the base damage is similar to a dagger. I suspect the scaling will be S which would make this an excellent weapon if it can outscale the terrible base damage.

For early (level ~50) arcane builds, I would recommend Vulgar Militia Saw with occult from Spectral Lance. Innate bleed buildup, good base damage, and decent scaling.
