Ripple Blade is a Axe in Elden Ring. The Ripple Blade scales primarily with Arcane and is a good Weapon for those users with high Arcane stat, as the Ripple Blade's damage increases with players' Arcane attribute.

Unique weapon wielded by young Albinaurics, this sword is
modelled after the ripples that are thought to be the origin of their
species.

Its attack power is greatly enhanced with one's arcane attribute.

Where to Find Ripple Blade in Elden Ring

The Ripple Blade weapon can be found at the following location:

Elden Ring Ripple Blade Notes & Tips

  • Weapon Skill: Wild Strikes
Swing armament with wild abandon. Hold to continue swinging. Can be followed tip with a normal or strong attack.
  • This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War, but CAN be buffed with Magic and Consumables.
  • Ripple Blade can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones
  • This weapon has unique R1 and R2 chains, shared with the Warped Axe.
  • Sell Value:  er runes 13 100.
  • At 60 arcane/+25 (525 AR) the only other occult axes that beat it are Jawbone Axe /Sacrificial Axe (533 AR), the Iron Cleaver (546 AR) and the Warped Axe (599 AR but you are looking at 10+ levels of stat investment to use it).
  • This a weapon and the Ripple Crescent Halberd are practically made for greasing because of their S scaling in Arcane and ability to be buffed by consumables
  • Grease Statistics
    • Keep in mind that the only greases that scale with Arcane are: Blood Greases, Poison Greases, and Soporific Greases
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Blade and 45 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 193
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 245
      • Blood Grease - 91
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 116
      • Soporific Grease - 101
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 128
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Blade and 60 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 219
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 278
      • Blood Grease - 104
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 132
      • Soporific Grease - 114
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 146
    • Status Grease Build-Up with +25 Ripple Blade and 80 Arcane:
      • Poison Grease - 228
      • Drawstring Poison Grease - 289
      • Blood Grease - 108
      • Drawstring Blood Grease - 137
      • Soporific Grease - 119
      • Drawstring Soporific Grease - 152
  • The Ripple Blade has better Status Grease Build-Up then the Ripple Crescent Halberd, but has abysmal reach and an inherently worse moveset. Also the extra status is overkill in PvP because both weapons already apply sleep and poison in just two hits with their respective drawstring greases.
  • This weapon is one of the few that can benefit from both arcane and faith stats (the others being Ripple Crescent Halberd and Varré's Bouquet) due to its innate arcane scaling and that it can be buffed (for instance with electrify armament) for faith scaling. This makes it a good option for a character using dragon communion incantations.
  • NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed and distance of some attacks have been increased and the recovery time has been reduced. Also, the stagger damage of Axes’ guard counters has been increased. PVP's poise damage has also been reduced with this patch.
  • NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below.
  • Physical damage updated as of Patch 1.08.

I hate that wiki mentions like it's the only made for greasing but ignoring the fact that till 80 arc it's still get 4 points of damage because of the s scaling, 654 AR for an axe is nutty only if ur going for a dedicated arc build, this is not bad at all for it's pure physical dmg still

      • Anonymous

Considering this and the halberd are upgraded with regular smithing stones and have very basic, non-unique ashes of war, I wonder if it might be cool if the base arcane scaling could be significantly reduced, but allow them to be infused. The occult affinity would basically have the same stats as they currently have now, losing the ability to be buffed with consumables and spells but getting the option to change the ash of war.

        • The notes should say "it has a rare fast attack combo designed to break the limbs of the user". This convinces me the devs are aliens, who the **** would think swinging an axe like that would be effective? I doubt even a violent 8 year old would think that's fine.

I would love if you could grease up left hand weapons as well for power stancing. One for bleed and the other for sleep.

            • Anonymous

I love how goofy some Elden Ring weapons are like what do you mean this entire sword scales with the Item Discovery stat

              • Anonymous

I call it "The Greasy Blade", because I'm always slathering grease all over it during battle. I just kinda wish the non-status inflicting grease scaled with Arcane aswell.

"This weapon has unique R1 and R2 chains, shared with the Warped Axe."
If it's shared with another weapon then it's literally not unique. Rephrase it to something like "rare".

Hidden effect that makes it so you’re actually required to wear this with veteran’s and use sleep grease with it
                      They can’t help it guys!

the sleep grease has a special interaction with this weapon! it inflicts the cancer status ailment alongside sleep!

                        • Anonymous

At 50 Arcane, the Ripple Blade is still out damaged by an Occult - Wild Strikes - Morning Star. Assuming you intend to apply blood grease.

The main benefit is its versatility in applying different greases. But farming can become a pain if you get stuck on a part.

                          • I added the Statistics on Status Build-Up for each arcane scaling grease on the Ripple Blade and the Ripple Crescent Halberd to their respective pages. I hope it helps you guys!

This is one of those "im a high skill niche pvper" weapons. You will likely never see someone using this who isnt a bumbling noob. Its even less likely that you will see anyone powerstancing them. But if you do. Well. Its about to get crazy. Lets just say that.

                              • Anonymous

Underrated weapon. I duel wield 2 of these bad bois with 60 arcane (along with my dual Dragon Cult talismans). Being able to grease them up to the specific need is awesome. Decent stagger if you utilize heavy attacks in your attack patterns along with leap attacks. The backstep swing and Quick Crouch swing is important to pull out quick attacks and maintain a good distance. The secret to this weapon though? Drawstring Grease (blood, rot, poison, Ice). You can easily apply the debuff with wild strikes.

                                  No lol

This weapon is the worst choice for an axe. Axes is general are terrible weapons - zero stagger. Was getting A$$ handed to me by radagon and then switched to the troll hammer, beat him on first try

                                    • Anonymous

If you have an arcane build and are facing a bleed immune enemy, particularly one with a strong elemental weakness like the deathbird, you can apply an enchant / grease to this weapon and do very good damage. This weapon with holy grease on it will absolutely melt a deathbird in seconds. This also works for a gargoyle with magic grease (though the results are not quite as dramatic). The only other arcane scaling weapon that you can apply a grease to is the ripple crescent halberd.

Poison grease, blood grease, and soporific grease scale with arcane when applied to this weapon. Rot and frost greases do not scale.

Have tryed it out while was farming random drop items with 99 arcane. It's base damage is a joke, shouldn't be that low even with being able to buff with grease or magic/electrobuff.
Using this instead of any bleed or at least poison weapons when spent lvls in arcane is just trolling

                                          • I am not sure why this weapon gets so much hate. At 60 arcane/+25(525 AR) the only other occult axes that beat it are Jawbone Axe/Sacrificial Axe(533 AR), the Iron Cleaver(546 AR) and the Warped Axe(599 AR but you are looking at 10+ levels of stat investment to use it). And non of those other options can be buffed. This is, by a not insignificant margin, the best Arcane axe currently in the game.

                                            • I am not sure why this weapon gets so much hate. This is actually the best weapon against the final boss if you are stuck on them. Highest Arcane scaling in the game means that you can get a ton of Holy defense by pumping Arc. Can also be applied with fire grease against Radagon. Finally not sure if the weapon skill is actually strike damage, but if it is then that's another + since that's his weakest phys def.

                                                • Anonymous

This is designed to be used with the poison, bleed, rot, and sleep greases, since this weapon will actually make them scale with your arcane stat when applied. Someone did a test on enemies in the haligtree between St Trina’s sword and this with sophoric grease. The Ripple axe put them to sleep significantly faster than the sword, even with the swords innate buff.

                                                  • Anonymous

imagine how fun this weapon would be if you could infuse with bleed instead of needing to buff it, would be interesting to dual wield.

                                                    • Anonymous

Since no one mentioning it, this weapon makes poison & bleed grease scales with your arcane. It will poisons/bleeds really fast once buffed this way.
This effect does not extend to the bloodflame buff bleed effect, only grease is buffed this way.

If they add some sort of madness-weapon-buff incantation, and you can slap it on this with the dragon-communion seal, ooh boy.

                                                        • Anonymous

Complete garbage weapon. I have it +25 with 99 Arcane and enchanted it with bloodflame and it's still bad. I can do more DPS with an occult dagger or even an occult whip.

                                                          • Anonymous

Other axes with Occult affinity out damage this weapon for Arcane builds. Iron Cleaver and Battle Axe can so the same thing but better. The only reason to use this weapon is for style points.

                                                            • Anonymous

The weapon really seems kind of disappointing even though its scaling with Arcane is so high, it does very similar damage to the knights at Dragon Altar compared to my regular bleed infused weapons, but those obviously also get the massive trigger of bleed damage every couple hits with 60 arcane.

                                                              • Anonymous

I finished the game over a week ago and I went back to collect the Ripple Blade and add it t my collection General Grevious style but her Bell Bearing didnt contain the ripple blade. Even if you guys don’t want it, buy it now before Pidia’s quest progresses too much.

                                                                • Pity you can't Infuse, would make for a handy backup weapon when paired with an Albinauric's Staff, but at least you can Scholar's Armament it up for some crunchy swings. Especially since buff spells finally scale completely on your Catalyst Scaling instead of just... adding stat scaling to the weapon, which I assume is how they used to work given some of the wonkiness with them.

                                                                  • Anonymous

Lots of folks are upset that you can't infuse this with bleed, just so y'all know, you can 100% enchant this weapon with it using very low level incantations. Bloodflame blade requires 12 faith and gives you bleed. Once they fix Dragon Communion Seal to scale properly off of Arcane (still broken as of 1.03) you'll be able to get .4x your incant power in flame damage on top of your arcane scaled bleed damage, that'll be some pretty huge damage. ~100-150 fire from Bloodflame Blade stacked on top of your ~550-600 from the weapon itself. Definitely a strong option.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Just when I think nothing could beat the sword that's just thirty swords mashed together, I find a menora sword

                                                                      • Anonymous

That weapon sounds very good for Dragon Communion Seal users. Very low stat requirements (as a Prophet I only need to dump 1 point in Dex to wield it), and dummy thick Arcane scaling. If only it could receive Ashes of War...

                                                                        • Anonymous

I have to wonder, if this and Ripple Crescent Halberd's inability to be infused with Ashes of War is a bug (Given the bugged state of basically every other Arcane scaling weapon)
