This weapon skill is the most frustrating thing in the game to me. Not for any good reason, I'm just mad that they neutered its animation since DS3. In DS3 you could buffer the second input and you would seamlessly transition into the follow-up, it was one of my favorite weapon arts in the game back then because of how fun the triple spin looked, it looked like you genuinely built up a ton of momentum with the first two spins that was carried into the final downward smash. Now there is that awkward pause in between the first swipe and the follow-up. Went from my favorite weapon art animation to my most despised ash of war with one minor change. I do like the dragon halberd variant though, however I think that weapon would benefit from its skill having a different name so the chance of someone overlooking its (technically) unique ash of war would be reduced. (also would be cool if there were more than like 2 lightning weapons in the game but hey beggars can't be choosers I guess)

Where did the albinauric cosplay in the video clip come from? I thought the helm wasn't part of a set but in this clip the character has a pot belly.

This skill may seem basic, but do not underestimate its usefulness. When used with faster-attacking weapons, it will stunlock most enemies with all three hits for massive damage and status buildup. Invaluable on bigger enemies who normally wouldn't be stunned by light attacks. I've been loving it with a cold uchigatana.

For people like me who somehow always end up surrounded by enemies even when being careful, this and Sword Dance are quite handy. Just remember that you're not limited to carrying and upgrading only one weapon. Especially if you put in the time to get the bell bearings for the different smithing stones. Endurance increases carrying capacity and you'll be needing a good amount of Endurance anyway, so don't worry about it.

Useful early PvE skill, capable of mob clearing, damage bursting and catching off low-flying enemy.

the default ash of war on WAY too many weapons. sadly overused

imo probably the most underrated ash of war. On weapons with long range like Nagakiba it feels downright busted sometimes, yet I never see anyone using this. Hits 3x very quickly so its great for building status effects

2x this on Nagakiba stuns knights in capital while this on grave scythe DOES NOT stun the nights. And I was just playing crit build with grave scythe, such a shame.

does this cause scarlet rot? because this ash of war comes with the rotten crystal sword so i just wanna know

When Bernthal moves to the mansion how do you purchase the ash of war?

Works really well on long range weapons that apply status effects. Cold Nagakiba goes hard with this for example as it quickly applies frost + bleed with decent poise and range

Literally switched from the default "Unsheathe" to this for Uchi (and Nagakiba) and never look back. Not only it's great for crowd control but also great for staggering larger enemies.

For easy cheese apply to either of the scythes. Will chew through enemies and apply bleed many times over. I killed Starscourge Radahn before he could even get to his second phase. (lvl 60 rn)

Why is this one so lame compared to the DS3 version?
