Corpse Piler is a Skill in Elden Ring. Corpse Piler is a special skill that is only available for the Rivers of Blood, and cannot be applied to other weapons via Ashes of War. Updated to Patch 1.07.
How to get Corpse Piler in Elden Ring
- Default skill for the Rivers of Blood.
Elden Ring Corpse Piler Guide
- This is a Unique Weapon Skill
- FP Cost: 17 on use
- 9 FP cost for the next two following inputs.
- Using all the inputs totals to a 35 FP cost (17 + 9 + 9).
- This Skill is not Chargeable
- Upon activation, the user slashes twice to the front in an X motion from a low stance.
- Inputting the Skill button again allows for another follow up, with the user making a brief spin before slashing thrice side-to-side.
- Inputting the Skill button after this allows for one last follow up, where the user makes an overhead slash all the way to the ground.
- The total amount of skill inputs are 3, for a total of 6 hits.
- The moveset is very similar to that of Double Slash, however, each slash leaves a trail of blood.
- Each and every single slash of this Weapon Skill leave behind trails of blood, which increases its effective range.
- Deals 9 stance damage per slash, 32 total on a full combo.
- Deals Physical + Fire damage with blood buildup per hit.
- The Fire damage is significantly higher than the physical portion of the damage.
- This weapon Skill can be parried as long as the parry tool meets the weapon itself.
- Patch 1.06 decreased the damage and bleed build-up of this weapon skill when hit with the blood attack. When hit by the blade, the damage is only decreased slightly.
- Note: This Skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows: Attack power has been slightly increased.

I have about 100 players and these swords stuck to the front of my giant crusher... should up the stance damage, but doesn't... :(

someone spams in pve: i sleep
someone spams in pvp: ya like bloody helice?

Nerfed due to pvp complaints, then the no-brainer of having separate damage scaling for pvp finally implemented. Re-buffed for pve, should have just had the separate scaling to begin with.
- Anonymous
To the person below me: The skill adds hidden bleed build up on the blade itself.

The nerf was obviously well-deserved, but at this point an occult nagakiba with double slash works just as well if not better, it does similar damage but with only 1/3 of the fp cost and no damage falloff

This feels like cheesing but it’s truly not because it’s so easy to punish and it takes so much stamina that it’s just as easy to get absolutely destroyed doing it as it is to melt the boss

when i use corps piler i just do a flip slash and not the ash of war that should be used (not the x slash with blood) does anyone know why i cant use corpse piler
- Anonymous

the actual blood part of the attack is still very good for rollcatching, it just no longer does a bajillion damage and bleeds them out 4 times in the process.

I can do a bleed build with double slash and I’m pretty sure that I’ll mimic corpse piled with out the nerf

The only thing needed for this skill to be balanced is less FP cost
- Anonymous
This skill is useless, double slash consume less FP and with a blood or occult infussion is far more powerful, in order to make a true balance this skill should use less FP, tested with the haligtree knights with 70 arcane I used the skill corpse piler two times meanwhile with a blood infused nagakiba and a occult flamberge I only needed to use double slash one time, in conclusion this nerf is a joke there is no logic in this "blance" changues, this was a good skill because of the blood wich gives range but now since you need to hit with the blade to make it work this is now a double slash that consumes more that double FP and do less damge

So I have 10 completly OPAF builds in ER, minimum. One got nerfed now.
Allrighty...

Even as of 1.06, this skill is still insanely overpowered at 80 Arc and meeting the minimum physical requirements on ROB. Testing on Malenia it took ~4 full combos for 1st phase at varying distances, with 2nd phase being roughly the same (maybe 5 or 6 full combos) while mostly staying out of actual melee range of the sword. Hopefully it's been nerfed a bit more when it comes to PvP (the patch notes do not make it clear if it's just been nerfed in online play), but as for PvE it is still ludicrously powerful.

Just got hit by a nerf, the weapon's damage and bleed buildup gets weaker the further away the enemy hit is.

Patch 1.06 "Decreased the damage and bleed build-up of weapon skill “Corpse Piler” when hit with the blood attack. When hit by the blade, the damage is only decreased slightly"

Fire greatswords with bloodhound laugh at this, smashed a lot of people trying to do fancy stuff using just brute force

Why are they holding off on reworking this? It makes zero sense to me.

Does anyone know what percentage of damage of the weapon art is physical and how much is fire. I’m trying to work out if flame protect me is better than black flame protection to counter this. I’ve won atleast 900 invasions and the prevalence of double or triple Rivers of Blood is starting to get to me.

This skill is really bad ass I love it so much just press l2 and all your problems are gone bosses? decimated invaders? Just a pile of corpse I told all the elden ring players in my class about how amazing this is and now they all respec into using this LETTTS GOOOOOOO

Not even worth using, it doesnt do enough damage and bleed buildup. Wish FROM would buff it as its basically useless.
- Anonymous
They should quadruple the focus requirement to make this thing impossible to spam, or it can drain hp, both would work fine

Insane that Bloody Slash requires you to use HP and this doesn't.

If you use dual katanas is it always better to dual hand when doing Corpse Piler? Or doesnt it matter?

This skill is the latest meme. It's so significant amongst all available skills people actually took it seriously and begun to develop counter builds, just for RoB. Hilarious.

if you are only gonna use this in rivers of blood which is better 30 dex 80 arc or 80 dex 30 arc or 55 both

In bloodborne this would have been balanced with life drain on use...why isnt this one?

Kinda wish they pulled a Chaos Blade with the weapon art where it causes bleed buildup for using the weapon art. Would help ward of the RoB weapon art spam.
Oh well down the path of other Soulsborne weapons getting nerfed into the ground.

What’s the negative number in the fp cost listing
FP Cost: 17 ( - 9)

I wish enchanting double slash (ash of war) would turn any weapon into this
would open up possibilities

My idea for balancing it:
Damage per hit reduced by 33%
Bleed build-up per hit increased by 20%
Reasoning: This ability can 100-0 you within the first few hits. It's ridiculous. It's a bleed weapon, not a oneshot weapon, so reducing its damage while increasing its bleed frequency should keep it viable but also fair. There are abilities in the game that are harder to land that are less rewarding than Rivers. Part of that problem is that the abilities need buffs (Scarlet Aeonia and Death Lightning) but part of the problem is also that Rivers is way too strong.
These changes would also make it a highly potent anti-shield tool, since Bleed continues to stack even if the hit is shielded. As it currently stands, Rivers is a potent anti-shield while also being...anti-everything.

Cool skill, feels good to use. Shame that it's exclusive to a cringe weapon that only weeb nerds use. Wish this was an ordinary Ash of War.

Just something to consider: a Nagakiba w/ double slash is a bit shorter range, but much cheaper in terms of fp cost. A Cold or Blood Nagakiba are both good options in terms of affinity. Pair a Cold Nagakiba w/ Rivers of Blood, and use the Nagakiba on main hand to apply frost, then use Rivers of Blood's fire element to reset the frost so you can proc frost again. Obviously both will also be applying bleed. Of course, spamming Corpse Piler should still be stronger than what I suggested if you aren't worried about the fp cost
- Anonymous
If anyone wanted the same skill to put on weapons it's called Double Slash (Don't let the name full you it does the same full combos if you keep pressing minus the blood)
- Anonymous
Useless against bosses (too slow to proc). At least until they fix the scaling bug.

"Now I see. You deny your weapon its purpose! It yearns to bath in the blood of your enemies… but you hold it back!"
