How to get Charge Forth in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Charge Forth Guide, Notes & Tips

  • This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Charge Forth.
  • FP Cost: 16
  • Deals 24 stance damage
  • This Skill is Chargeable (charging only increases the range, not the damage, however equipping Godfrey Icon does increase the damage)
  • This Skill can be Parried (only the final thrust can be parried)
  • This skill helps your character perform a piercing charge forward, that can also be guided to keep track of enemies. It is not easy to direct, but can have devastating effects if it connects.
  • The heavy attack version of the charge goes further than regular attacks.

NOTE: This skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows:

  • Directional control and motion speed have been increased.
  • Delay between the end of various actions (like using items or attack animations) and being able perform the skill has been reduced.

You ever play Monster Hunter online? You ever have a Lance user just run you over from behind when you're supposed to be co-operating? That's this attack.

I think this and Giant Hunt are the only ashes of war that can make a weapon do a damage type it normally can't do.
The Golem Halberd can only ever do Standard damage normally but this Skill forces Pierce.
There might be other skills that do this but they're not Ashes of war, rather they're unique to the weapon and unremovable.
Giant hunt is also pierce so unfortunately you can't make your claws do strike or your pickaxe do slash.

Not only did they fix it, they made it monstrous. Maybe it’s just me, but the hit-box when I use it is insanely big. I almost feel bad hitting someone from a senseless distance away.

Paired with the hyper armor, stunning, and damage, it’s a beautiful piece of work.

I hate this skill. Not just think it's bad. This was only put in the game so enemies can use it to rollcatch you. Can't roll late, you get stagger locked. Can't roll early, you'll get flung. Can't use it yourself, you get interrupted during charge up. Can't interrupt enemy charge up, you get hit. I would rather every spear in the game shot glintstones than any have this.

Default skill of golems halberd but literally cant be applied so you can change affinity thanks fromsoft.

For the amount of fp and stamina it uses it sure deals low damage compared to piercing fang or giant hunt. Doesn't deal stance break either but the final thrust deals emough poise damage to stagger Zamor warriors. Needs another patch to make it balanced. Either reduce the fp and stamina cost or increase the damage of the final poke and make it stance break enemies.

The fact that hitting someone doesn’t deliver the full damage or even poise break makes it bad. But against enemies without poise it will nuke them. I also like free aiming it at max range since I can trust ghost range to impales someone who was too confident in walking to the sides as if this is a spell.

It says that it is chargeable on the Godfrey icon page, but no chargeable on this page. I reckon this page is wrong since it can be held for longer duration and therefore more damage similar to eochaid’s dancing blade

                      >called charge forth
                      >is not chargeable
                      >but actually can be held to go further

Yeah i know, semantics and all that, but cmon. I would call it chargeable because your attack changes basef on held time.
