would be nice to get the satisfaction of seeing this thing do 2-3000 damage to people and not just 900 if they remembered to level vigor for once

      • Anonymous

Would be fun if it had shorter wind blades outside the fight, making it a non faith version of Siluria's Woe

        • Anonymous

Don't be fooled by the fact that you lose the wind blade outside rykard's arena, this beast of a weapon doesn't really need it. Landing the weapon skill + follow-up deals 4000-ish damage.

Ever wanted to ****ing stagger a goddamn giant in literally one hit?
Well I've got some good news for you.

This thing might seems useless as hell outside of the boss fight, but it's actually pretty good and absolutely usable. Its hyperarmor during the "charging" is insane and can catch people off guard + pierce counter bonus can even one shot people sometimes. It's also usable against bosses and good at guardbreaking providing you know their movesets and can face tank some of their attacks.

All the comments here about how this is useless outside of the fight with Rykard, but it's also pretty useless during the fight as well. Shield poking, even with greatspears, is even faster than standard R1 combos, (and doesn't suffer from the pause that normally happens after the last attack of the "combo,") and with a 70 str character that regularly gets summoned to fight Rykard, I can easily get 20k+ damage from a single stamina bar worth of poking, while this thing usually struggles to manage even 5k, costs a ton of FP, and leaves you vulnerable for an extended animation.

In general it's pretty disappointing, especially compared to the Stom Ruler weapon art from DS3.

Most satisfying AOW in the game for my money. The hyper armor is absolutely through the roof, and the damage on counter hit is rarely ever not worth it. It works surprisingly well on most players that even know the weapon, and I say that having primarily used it in duels. The timing is weird, and aggressive players will think to themselves " surely if I hit him a THIRD time the hyper armor will break". And they will be wrong, and they will be very sad. I've yet to have hyper armor be interrupted on this thing in PvP, colossal R1's, storm stomp, whatever. The move is coming out, and if they don't get out of the way that trade is gonna immediately change the momentum of the fight. Especially the second follow up swing, which hits like a truck, has a weird animation, and comes out WAY faster. I'm done gushing but you should give it a try for sure, super fun, top tier mind games.

Dang, I really wish this still had a beam of light outside Rykard. Obviously it would have to be much smaller and deal less damage or else it'd be too OP, but as it stands, you may as well do charged R2's, and that doesn't use any fp either.

                    • Anonymous

Sucks that it doesn't do much poise damage, I'd use it more if the charged r2 combo wasn't both faster and a guaranteed stagger on most enemies

                      • Anonymous

if only this still made a beam of light outside of the boss fight, unfortunately it's stuck to the coolest looking spear with the highest strength scaling and you can't swap it off.
