This lowkey goes hard with combo talismans like malenias arm, rotten winged sword insignia...you just have to beat that goddamn spider boss
(use imbued stonesword key or ng+)

two questions: one, does Shard of Alexander boost the special R2's? and two, does Old Lord's talisman boost the duration? (i know it says spells but i just wanted to check lol) Thanks!

        • If I could buff this Ash of War, I'd make the damage buff scale with weapon upgrade level, something like +10 Holy damage per upgrade. Currently, the weapon performs wonderfully at lower levels, but then gets progressively weaker the farther you get into the game. The buff gets almost completely eaten up by Defense late game, and don't even get me started on bosses that have 80% Holy Negation, or in PvP where 100 Holy damage gets converted to ~25 Holy damage per swing, couple that with the lower-than-average Physical attack of the sword itself and you'd be better off running almost any other Powerstance Straight Swords, and that's including additional weight and requirement differences. I'm not saying this weapon is bad, there are certainly worse ones you could be using, I just think it could made to be a lot better without it becoming too strong.

Finally the buff it deserved. Before, from my experience, the swords would become more difficult to wield from mid game and beyond. Now it crushes even more in the early to mid, and is far less difficult to run with in the late than before. Gosh this sword is fun to use.

How long does it last? Is the holy damage flat or scale off a stat? If so, does it scale off of faith or faith + dex?

This is an example of FROM's balance adjustment failure. The duration is way too short. TOO SHORT. Adding only 80 holy damage is just fine. The problem is that the duration is TOO SHORT!!!!!!

Here is some information I gave found while using these at level 1 vs Hero of Zamor:

                  Normal falling-attack: 134 dmg
Falling-attack after using the weapon buff: 306

Hero of Zamor is susceptible to fire damage, but I'm not sure what type of damage the buff is considered to be.
