How to get Golden Land

Elden Ring Golden Land Guide, Notes & Tips

  • This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Golden Land.
  • FP Cost: 16 (5)
  • The final thrust into the ground performed toward the end of this skill deals large poise damage in the area of the golden glyph seen on the ground during this skill, breaking the poise of most regular enemies.
  • If performed toward certain drops or walls, the latter part of this skill can be cancelled early due to the weapon bounce animation interrupting the cast animation, allowing the player to move far earlier during this skill than intended, while still creating the projectiles.

So do the bullets only benefit from the healing effect from Great Stars now? I tested this on Great Stars, and the bullets will still heal you, but I can't seem to find any other abilities to proc with the bullets.

For anyone who thinks holy damage is the worst damage type, use this on a Zwiehander, trust me it will change your mind.

        • This aint no ash of war holy sheit, this is a goddamn sniper rifle. Was able to hit malformed stars from across the huge cave in ainsel. Longest range of all wa s i think

          • Anonymous

This might be a bug but the Shard of Alexander doesn't seem to buff the projectiles, only the weapon hits and AoE blast. Tested on the newly buffed Great club so it might work fine on the ash variant.

            • Anonymous

Sadly I believe the latest patch changed how damage buffs like bloodflame or black flame can affect AOW like Golden Land. Still a top 10 ash for PvE tho.

Can we talk about how far do the darts fly? Really, you can snipe with them. I could hit the leyndell knight guarding the painter's shack in liurnia with just a few steps away from the site of grace.

How to constantly proc bleed on a colossal weapon? Use this. And save the r2 follow-up for the unstaggerable bosses.

My favorite ash. Great for pve obviously but it's lots of fun in pvp. Predict a running attack and poise through it with this ash and your opponent either takes a truckload of damage or now has to play a bullet hell while you chase.

                    • Anonymous

Does a blast, creates projectiles, and lets you do an r2 followup, all with high poise. Even with these advantages its not op, just cool as hell.

I came here to say the exact same thing 15th August 21:35 has said. As soon as I read the blackflame blade wiki and saw that its DoT debuff could be applied by weapon skills as well as the weapon itself the first thing I thought of was the obvious potential golden land and waves of darkness had to show even more damage than I'm already seeing from them. I've just tested this for myself on the death rite bird in Caelid the result is golden land + blackflame blade + sacred scorpion + death rite bird = DRB getting a brand new arsehole ripped which I was happy to do for it.

Pretty sure everyones already aware of this, but if you put this on a heavy great star and use blackflame blade as a buff, you can apply the DOT affect with the orbs. Its tricky to do but if pulled off correctly you can do nice little chunks of hp to beefy bosses and heal a good little bit as well

This thing is an absolute monster on a pure faith build. If you're an invader and struggling to find a good ash of war for groups than look no further because this is the best one. Infinite hyper armor, massive damage from the initial slam, massive damage from the explosion (most hosts/phantoms are dead by now), and the projectiles deal huge damage too. You don't even need shard of alexander, that might end up being overkill lol

Uhh, idk if they changed something to this in 1.05 when they removed the blood effect, but this feels extremely over powered once you start stacking the holy damage buffs via talismans, physic, & golden vow. I am about lvl 120, not even done w the build and the projectiles alone are doing 500-600 damage a piece.

Anyone know if the darts proc status? I've been reading they proc bleed with bleed innate weapons but haven't been able to replicate it

                                • Initially, I thought the ash was missing from my list, but Golden Land is type specific, only becoming available for strike weaponry like blunt/bludgeoning types of weapons.

Against human sized opponents in PVE, this weapon skill is hands down one of the best in the game, especially against Malenia.

It's strength does not rely on its activation speed, hyper armor or raw damage, but rather its flexibility. The skill has 4 components: a down thrust into the ground, a holy explosion, energy rays and a follow up sweep attack. If you activate the skill once, you do the thrust, immediately followed up by an explosion centered on yourself, with a field of delayed energy projectiles spawning around you; press it again and you a followup sweep attack after the explosion. The Energy Rays are able to stagger opponents, and the sweep sends the target flying to the ground.

This skill is strong primarily because of the energy rays (which is what sets it apart from Earthshaker). Essentially. you can use the skill at range to setup a field of delayed energy projectiles, similar to Carian Phalanx (but does not follow you). Upon setting up the beams, charge at the human sized opponent and wait until the rays spam stagger the target. The barrage lasts long enough for you to use the skill safely again point blank, and to follow up with the sweep attack, doing a ludicrous amount of damage. At the end of the combo, the target will be lying prone on the ground, with you standing over them, allowing you to follow up with an attack.

This ability is not as good against larger targets in a 1v1 situation however.

The initial stab seems to bypass shields and staggers the enemy out of their guard. S tier against fingerprint shield pokers. I put that on a Zweihander and damn near deleted the guy out of the game.

So this is good in pvp but not great. You get no hyper armor and people will reaction jump attack into the blast and take no damage then roll away from the lasers. I wanted to use this like mornes hammer but it actually sucks for trading. It’s fun tho and I like to lay down holy ground and play king of the hill. Just watch for jump attacks

Another great part about this skill is that the bolts have a pretty long range - not quite as far as Loretta's Greatbow, but still very nice

                                          • Anonymous

This Ash is pretty amazing. Not only does it proc ‘on hit’ effects like on Great Stars or bloodflame blade, but the lasers provide great pressure during pvp. Holy damage isn’t amazing, but since its able to accept the buffs its weapon can, if you give your weapon one of the normal affinities, its able to inflict status effects. Most notably bleed and frostbite if put on a bleed hammer and buff it with cold.

Very cool, very strong AoW for sure
The AI acts like the orbs dont even exist and will eat them.
                                              They make players panic too.

This + the Giant Crusher + heavy armor is the most fun I've had playing a tanky character. Deals good damage, and looks awesome.

The golden darts from this ash of war apparently proc 'on hit' effects.

I tested it with the Great Stars Warhammer, which heals 1 % of your HP for each hit. With the golden darts you get healed for each dart that hits an enemy.

When I infused the Great Stars weapon with the bloodflame blade incantation I was also able to proc bleed effects using only the golden darts from Golden Land (my actual weapon never hit the enemy).

                                                    • Anonymous

Basically the same attack as the Erdtree Avatar use to spawn the tracking orbs of Light.
Deals incredible damage if all hits connect. First the thrust into the earth, then the explosion, the the follow up strike and finally the darts which do surprisingly high damage. Very powerful and flashy AoW
