Elden Ring Ground Slam Guide, Notes & Tips
- This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Ground Slam.
- FP Cost: 14 on use.
- This Skill is not Chargeable
- Upon activation, the user briefly crouches before leaping into the air, falling down and creating a shockwave at the point of impact.
- Deals 15 Stance damage with the shockwave and an addtional 30 from a direct hit. Rounding adds another point for 46 total.
- Has a high poise modifier, allowing the player to not be staggered by most attacks
- If used without FP:
- Doesn't produce shockwave on impact.
- Deals less damage on hit
- NOTE: This Skill was changed in Patch 1.07 as follows:
- The time between using the skill and being able to roll have been reduced.
- Attack Power has been increased.

As of 1.08 this ash is bugged; it will 'bounce' off of shields and hard enemies giving you recoil. This also includes stone miners and jars.
I explicitly know that it was not like this before 1.08 because I would use ground slam to kill jars and stone miners easily. Not anymore I guess :(

I wonder if it’s affected by claw talisman which enhances jump attacks?

Real Talk - Why can't this be used to dodge ground based attacks like Godfrey's arena wide Tantrum Stomps? Literally go higher in the air than a jump but you still get hit by attacks that a jump would evade. Make it make sense!

there's proof on youtube that ground slam's aoe doesn't work on water

I keep this on a stitcher for my GODSKIN NOBLE build. Swapping out for another stitcher with Giant Hunt and another with Lightning Ram for an accurate NOBLE moveset. Very fun for invasions.

good against dogs as these brainless creatures have low poise and love getting close to you

Anyone know if the iron perfume does anything for ground slam?

How would I make a smough build with this ash of war? Any armor sets that would help complement that "giant fat person" feel? I was also wondering what weapon would be best for this.

You can still use this without FP, you just lose out on the AOE. I think some enemies might suffer multiple hits from this move, especially if you manage to land directly on top of them, but that could've been just some lag on my end rather than my end ending enemies.

Nothing feel better than killing demigods with my Killer Butt
Use this, its absolutely insane. You get good damage, good hyperarmour and unbelievable poise damage. This stagger the crucible knight boss and other every hit, and can stun foes like agheel, Margot, godrick etc in like 2 or 3 uses. Basically free ripostes. Praise the butt slam.
Great with caestus to have an aoe for mobs or to stack poise damage on bosses
