PassiveSpread Crossbow is a Crossbow in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Crossbow in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Spread Crossbow scales primarily with Strength and is a good Weapon for __goodfor__.
A modified crossbow made by combining two crossbows into one. Capable of loading multiple bolts and firing them simultaneously, enabling a spread of fire.
Where to Find Spread Crossbow in Elden Ring
The Spread Crossbow weapon can be found at the following location:
- A Spread Crossbow can be found on a body by the riverside and the Ellac Greatbridge. Past the Ellac Greatbridge turn right and head to the lower level. There is a smaller camp with three Messmer Soldiers. There you will find the Spread Crossbow. [See Shadow of the Erdtree Map]

I can confirm that JhinDW's damage numbers below are correct and the damage numbers on this page are sadly incorrect. So only 166 damage per shot at +25 instead of 272, so the ammo efficiency is extremely bad (especially since you're firing 10 shots at once to only land a few of them against most enemies). Also I tested it at +24 against a Troll (in Stormhill) and it was only doing 432 damage every time, which definitely does seem like only 3 shots per volley are allowed to hit a single target. Very disappointing weapon in terms of damage and especially ammo efficiency, but I do see the comments saying it's strong in PvP with status bolts.

I don't think Mimic Tear can run out of bolts. Had it bring this with bleed and rot bolts for the DLC final boss and it zimmerman-ed the **** out of em lmao.

tested it at +0 against black-key crossbow (same AR at 68 for both) and when all 10 bolts hit the same target it dealt exactly 3 times the damage of the Black-Key, so there appears to be a cap of 3 bolts per target for damage. I could see uses for it in pvp where just hitting a target is more important than ammo conservation, but for pve this seems to be a mostly worse pulley crossbow that eats through bolts. fun to shoot explosive bolts with though!

Crazy shotgun, but let's be honest Fromsoft just add the option for PvP Arena to forbid sleep and madness and we all are happy

if you don't go for the horrible oppressive sleep route - normal bolts hit HARD, and you can use explosive or perfume bolts to just blanket an area. genuinely think you can take any boss with this shotgun.
