Death Knight's Twin Axes is an Axe in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Axe in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Death Knight's Twin Axes scales primarily with StrengthDexterity and Faith and is a good Weapon for __goodfor__.

Golden war axes of the Death Knight. A pair of weapons made to be wielded in both hands. Crackles with lightning, the power of the capital's ancient dragon cult. The knight, once the personal guard of Godwyn, was also the protector of the Prince of Death's cadaver surrogate.

These axes are VERY good, very awesome weapon art and a good design... but my god is it obnoxious in PvP. Covers enormous range, does huge amounts of damage, very little downtime, and has the Bloodhounds Step invisibility which can throw off timing and spacing. All in all, very awesome weapon, just needs a slight bit of PvP tuning

Ash of war is cool but really disappointed they have the basic axe moveset, especially since twin axes have the worst powerstance moveset.

IM IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!! Death Knight killed me with style and i smiled after i ripped the axe out of that boss dead body

          • The moment I found out you can be staggered out of wa follow-up after you dash (80 poise!) this weapon went from A tier to dookie tier for me

            • Anonymous

literally the only weapon in the dlc I've found disappointing, the WA is so cool but the damage needs so many charms and buffs to hold up to the norm

              • Anonymous

Honestly wish they would just revise the entire dual axe moveset. It's been notoriously bad since day one and you're generally better off just two-handing a single axe.

                • Anonymous

I know everyone's miffed about its weird scaling and the powerstance axe moveset still sucking, but these things are a beast at catching anything and anyone trying to run away from you thanks to that hilarious Ash. Give it a try, even if it's just for a soft or hardswap to chase people down.

                  • Anonymous

These are really cool, the ash is neat, and they're lightning weapons that actually scale with faith... but they commit the sin of being twin axes, and so they're cursed with the worst moveset in the game.

                      >new paired axes
                      >no twinaxe moveset
From was too busy making weeb weapons instead of simply importing existing animations from previous titles (also no BKGA)

                      • Anonymous

So it's worth noting that this is buffed by the Rellana talisman, and obviously rotten sword/millicents. This makes the full attack combo escalate north of 5000+ with 40+ strength and faith.

The highlight of this weapon is THAT it's a twinned weapon, not the lightning damage.

                        • Anonymous

I see a lot of people malding about the damage, but considering the amount of bs you can stack on this
                          -millicent prostesis
                          -winged sword insignia
                          -shard of alexander
                          -godskin cloth
                          -lightning scorpion
                          -lightning + thorny cracked tear

it kinda makes sense to balance it to be underwhelming without them
also people seem to be scaling the AoW incorrectly. Some people said faith, some people said dex. Do we have a final verdict on the scaling?

brief testing does seem to show iframes on the dash, let me know if I am wrong (or if any of these talismans even proc)
also people seem to be missing the proper value complaning about the axe moveset, who tf is using normals in the late game, are you saving mana for elden ring 2?

                          • I really wanted to like these, but you basically need heavy investments in all 3 stats to see decent damage. They don't even have a unique moveset. Shame.

Are the death knight weapons good with min faith max str builds? I got 25 faith for buffs but rest is in str.

                              • Anonymous

Really lame and weird audio issue with these, where one of the axes sounds like a wooden weapon when it hits things.

                                • This and the Longhaft version are cool and all, but after all is said and done the *only* somber lightning swords of any kind in Elden Ring is Dragon King's Cragblade and Dragonscale Blade. I was kind of hoping for something more, but apparently FromSoft really likes lightning axes considering the Stormhawk Axe and Dragon Halberd also exist.

Despite what the tooltip says these give you a lot more damage on a quality build (54/56) compared to pure STR (80/13)

I have a character in Titan Quest, yes, that's an old game in 2006s, he uses a great phrygian helmet and dual lightning axes

with the coming of these axes, now my cosplay of my old character is complete

bullgoat helmet, these axes combined with stormhawk axes is a lot fun, especially when summoned as a hunter to help others being invaded

This weapon does not only scale with faith, it NEEDS dex as well or else you'll be hitting like a wet noodle. Cool weapon but the fact that it needs dex is a huge bummer.

                                        • Anonymous

I had 40 str, 40 fth, and 25 dex. Damage on this wep and the aow felt lackluster. I think its a dex weapon although the scaling seems to indicate its a str/fai weapon.

Man, they've already reused so many animations from previous games, it wouldn't take much effort to just put the Lothric angel's twin-axes move set into this thing

                                            • Anonymous

This axe is more anime than the katanas. It seems you can redirect yourself from the initial point of direction of the first dash. I could see this being used a lot by ppl mindlessly spamming it, but it is pretty cool.

Weren't people claiming these dealt deathblight in the 3 hour event? Wonder if they changed it, or if they were just wrong/lying. Still cool as hell though.

Anyone know what the skill scales with?

Usually Lightning skills and ashes of war scale with Dex but this weapon has Fth requirements and scaling so wondering if Fth actually contributes to any of the damage on the skill.

Fun ash of war, has the normal dual wield axe move set when you 2h them, charged attack when 2h to dual wield only swings one axe. Seems that this axe will mainly be used as AoW spam, but easy to miss on humanoid bosses

                                                      • Anonymous

Unfortunately designed as a high level weapon, since you should have decent investment in all 3 stats, remember that the dex scaling feeds into both lightning and physical damage which is why this isn't just a str/fth weapon, the weight to damage ratio on high levels is really good though and it's extremely badass looking and has a Fun L2

                                                          • Anonymous

They scale mostly Str/Fai (with Dex less so), but as a Str/Fai build, these were incredibly disappointing and weak… which is heartbreaking because Str Fai never gets any lightning damage outside of incants
