Spirit Sword is a Curved Sword in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Curved Sword in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Spirit Sword scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence and is a good Weapon for INT characters in the look for a sword. This weapon comes with the Rancor Slash skill which lets you summon spirits towards enemies.
Sharp blade sculpted into a twisted shape. A sword that has seen many years of use in the gravesite.
Said to serve as a medium for communion with spirits.

Since it's so short it should be changed into being powerstanced with daggers, the same way Wakizashi and Main-Gauche are powerstanced with katanas and thrusting swords.

I don't even care whether there are better options. It fits the night set which is my favourite and that does it for me

This is more of a fashion weapon. It looks nice, and the Ash of War is fine, but where's the damage?
They could have at least made it frost-infused.In PvE and invasions, it's not exactly useless—there are just way better options. You can use it in the Colosseum, but again, it's mostly just for fashion.

crazy how dissapointing this weapon is you couldve just copy pasted shamshir moveset onto it and we would be happy

Any reason to use this over Wing of Astel/Cold/Magic weapons? Wing of Astel and Magic Scimitar/Bandit's/Scavenger's beat it out on a pure INT build and it still loses to them on a DEX/INT hybrid. It has no innate frostbite, is short, only long range attack to compensate being a slow startup skill that shoots out slow moving projectiles.

From me testing, the ash of war have a frost build up. Dont know how much.

Why couldn’t they give this weapon a unique moveset and frostbite buildup at least. From wtf was the mindset behind this weapon.

I like how this is mantis blade but worse in every way, tiny hitbox without the long range heavy, worse scaling in every regard, and not infusible.
Even so, it looks cool af.

yall r nuts thinking this ****'s bad i've been tearing ng+ a new hole with just this weapon

At least this thing has proper INT scaling so you don't have to be deciding if you want good damage on normal hits or the projectiles. Both the halberd and death's poker make absolutely no sense in their scaling.

idk who in their right minds thought to make this a curved sword, when the fire knight's shortsword is a dagger lol.

"Said to serve as a medium for communion with spirits."
dont know why I assumed this was hinting at some sort of secret npc interaction somewhere in the DLC but I guess it's just there to give the item some personality
this weapon just keeps disappointing

Why did they even make this? It could be decent with shamshir moveset and much, much higher damage ig

Kinda unrelated, but am i the only one that thinks this fits on a Ranni cosplay?
It vaguely resembles the Fingerslater Blade, being a dark curved dagger (this is a dagger disguised a curved sword, lets not lie to ourselves)
For those that forgot, the FS Blade is the item we find for her to kill her Two Fingers.

We need to return to Curved Swords being super OP ala Demon Souls
Of course the comments say it's bad. It's an INT sword, and INT users don't know how to use swords
All aspects of the ash of war's tracking is very bad. This thing will never hit anything.
just give it a little faith scaling to match EVERY GHOSTFLAME SORCERY and I won’t even be mad about the steaming pile of (admittedly badass) dook that is this things weapon art.
ffs from, how did you make an entire class of sorceries based around int/fai split and then go on to make every single weapon related to it rely solely on int.

Not terrible but underwhelming. Like the move set, but it leaves my Prayer Room chump enemies standing while I've got 20+ other weapons that don't.

They really missed the chance to make this into a cool weapon similar to the Ivory Straght sword on DS2... it would fit perfectly.

My only complaint is this would have been yet another good opportunity for int faith split scaling, to match the other rancors (minus family heads). Even on my hybrid though, the ash slaps with 50 int. Cool sword. Wing of Astel enjoyers found another pair!

Its hard to make a themed build. You want ghostflame? Well weapons are dex/int but spells require high faith. You want gelmir magma? Well spells are int with low faith while weapons are str+fth and dex+fth. You want golden order? Weapons are pure fth, spells are int + fth.
- Anonymous
Move some of that dex scaling to faith and I think we have a real niche of a weapon

This may just be the worst weapon in pvp... It has dagger range, curved sword moveset, a worse sword dance with longer start time, and it's projectiles deal extremely little damage while also being extremely slow moving.
- Anonymous
One of my biggest wishes for the DLC was From finally giving us a Death themed weapon that'd scale with Int/Fth. Finding this and then checking it in my inventory later was an absolute rollercoaster of emotion. Ah well...
- Anonymous
Fromsoft: Lets make a weapon that is directly associated with an int/fth spell class and have the ability to fire a watered down spell from said int/fth spell class. Then, just for kicks, make it a dex/int weapon instead.

looks cool af, performs very mid. only redeeming quality is ghostflame on hit from L2.
- Anonymous
As cool as this thing looks, when I first equipped it I was extremely disappointed in how short it is. It looks more suitable as a dagger than a curved sword to me, which makes me want to use it less since it'll tend to miss unless you stand very close.

This weapon should have frostbite buildup, it even has the ghostflame effect when hitting stuff. Oh well, at least it looks cool.

The drip is impeccable for my Frigid Death build. Just wish it was Curved GWS or Katana fit more umph

This is not dropped by a demi-human. It is ground loot with a few demi-humans around it, including a swordsman at the entrance to the area.
- Anonymous
One of the very few weapons that scales in both Int and Faith, previously unique to the Sword of Night and Flame and a few suboptimal ash of war set ups.

You can find this weapon in Cerulean Coast. There's this kind of a triangle-shaped lower area between Cerulean Coast West and Cerulean Coast Site of Grace. It's on the right hand corner in that lower area, with a couple demi-humans.
