Crystal Spear is a Spear in Elden Ring. The Crystal Spear scales primarily with Dexterity and is a good Weapon for short range melee combat and to inflict magic-based attacks.

Spear fashioned from pure crystal; a deed impossible for a human.
Enwreathed with powerful magic, its attack scales with intelligence.

The inscrutable Crystalians have but one clear purpose; to safeguard their crystals unto the end.
One theory posits that they yearn for the return of their creator who will carve for them new brethren.

Where to Find Crystal Spear in Elden Ring

The Crystal Spear weapon can be found at the following location:

  • Can be found inside Sellia Hideaway. From the Stake of Marika, head towards the boss while hugging the right wall. When you reach a body with an item (Preserving Boluses), hit the bare wall to the left of it to reveal a room containing a chest with the Crystal Spear.

While this weapon (and others like the crystal sword and dagger) seem pointless, the reason they exist is to be your offhand with a non-used weapon skill and somber stone upgrades to save you materials. Your main weapon would be in this case a magic/cold-infused spear with the Ash of your choice, while this simply exists to fill your offhand slot for L1's. It's a shame because they look really distinct and cool but I honestly can't think of any other use for them.

I don't really get the point of this weapon. You can just take any other spear that can be infused with ashes of war and make a magic spear and it will have similar scaling and damage and you will have the versality of having different ashes of war. And impaling thrust is just an OK special. Style 9/10. Usage 2/10

Cool looking weapon for a Crystallian style character but has poor damage and can't use ash of war on it. The damage/scaling compared to other weapons makes it hard to be usable, it has B scaling in Dex at max upgrade but there are better options if you wanted a Dex weapon. Would be nice to switch my Clayman's Magic Harpoons for 2 for these.

I don't get weapons like this that require a decent investment to Int/Fai but don't really benefit from Int/Fai at all. It's just there as a stupid stat check that force you to waste some points into stats that are irrelevant to your builds (for pure builds or hybrids learning to Dex/Str) or giving you false hope that your stats would help these weapons become viable (for pure Int/Fai or hybrids leaning toward Int/Fai).

Like, why the hell would you ever use this weapon if all of these are better than Crystal Spear?

            1. Dex build: keen spear is better than Crystal Spear
            2. Quality build: by far the best build to utilize this spear, and quality infused spear is still better than Crystal Spear because it doesn't have split AR and you can add resin
            3. Dex/Int hybrid: cold spear is better than Crystal Spear
            4. Int build: magic spear is better than Crystal Spear
            5. Overleveled Dex/Int hybrid: cold spear / keen spear + Scholar Armament is better than Crystal Spear

            • There are two Crystalians with spears out in the open in Liurnia of the lakes. In-between the folly and converted tower grace sitting on some crystal outcroppings. I'm curious if they drop anything.

This would've been a slightly better Clayman's Harpoon if it was actually droppable and could be modified with different AoW. Why is the Rotten variant droppable but not this? FromSoft needs to redo certain weapons as well as changing up which enemies SHOULD drop the weapons that they're holding for potential powerstancing, unbelievable.

What's up with from putting the worst AOWs to weapons that cannot change them?

Bravo from, making half of the weapons you put your hard work on obsolete so no one uses them

                  • Anonymous

Would have loved to be able to put ashes of war on this. A cold crystal spear would go much better with my Elden bling than the clayman harpoon

god im so mad we cant put weapon arts on these things. A very pretty spear completely overshadowed by nearly anything else because its stuck with strange scalings and and plain moveset. Unironically, I think a cold naginata completely outclasses it, and it will also have bleed on it!

"Enwreathed with powerful magic, its attack scales with intelligence"

My brother in Grace, this thing has more strength scaling than int- why the hell did the devs write these wacky descriptions that include flavor text which doesn't accurately describe the weapons half the time.

                        • Anonymous

it doesnt even scale highly in intelligence and doesnt have a unique moveset to any other kind of regular spear, cant have ashes equipped to it and is locked to impaling thrust, meaning its weaker, less versatile, and more restrictive than even a regular spear or partizan, quite a LOT of effort to hide away a highly inferior weapon.

If you wanna cosplay a Crystalian, go ahead, but other than that, just put magic/frostbite on any regular spear and swap the ashes as you wish.

They should really allow tinkering on crystal weapons. It's cool if I could at least use Icy Spear on it.

Actual instructions to find it: from the Stake of Marika before the boss fight, stick to the right wall heading toward the boss. When you find the corpse with the item on it, smack the walls.

                                "left of the boss room"
Hold up your hand vertically, thumbs extended parallel. The hand that makes an "L" is your left. THE GODDAMN SPEAR IS ON THE RIGHT.

Enter the room After the stake of marilka, and stick the right side. There will be a skeleton with an item and the hidden door is next it.

                                  • It can be found in Sellia Hideaway behind an illusionary wall in the room before the boss. The wall is located to the right side of the room, next to an item.
