Greatsword of Radahn (Lord) is a Colossal Sword in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Colossal Sword in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Greatsword of Radahn (Lord) scales primarily with StrengthDexterity and Intelligence and is a good Weapon for __goodfor__.

Greatswords of black steel wielded by Radahn in his youth. A pair of weapons decorated with a lion mane motif. These were in his possession immediately before his triumph over the stars—the swords of a lord who does not rely on physical strength and gravity alone.

This lord version and the light version should have been single weapons and if you get both and power stance them the AOWs would combine and work like a stance where l2+r1 is lord's aow and l2+r2 is light's aow or something, its so weird to separate them into two different paired weapons.

Honestly the design made me sad too. They could have kept the gravity theme but still made them look way different. I dunno some unique boss weapon or maybe even miquella’s catalyst. I don’t wanna call From lazy, but having 3 similar looking, paired remembrance swords in the game seems that way almost.

So, for those wondering, the ash of war does Magic damage, not Holy

Also with how this thing hits, I've yet to find an enemy (or boss, but I haven't done much boss testing, I need to check the Fire Giant) that isn't stance broken by the AoW chain alone, if you wanna speed it up for chain space breaks, use the Stonebarb Cracked Tear, if you want more damage output, any from the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear, Thorny Cracked Crystal Tear, or the new Bloodsucking Cracked Tear.

Or if you're like me and want to facetank everything and walk out fine: the Crimson-Sapping Cracked Tear and Cerulean-Sapping Cracked Tear.
You'll be hitting so much that you'll essentially pull a Melania restoring your health and FP, just chaining non stop till whatever you hit is dead.

Side note, after the initial startup, this thing has bonkers hyper armor

The most annoying thing about fighting someone with this weapon is you don't know if they have the lord or light version until they start using it...

            • Anonymous

Really disappointed with the damage output. Decided to go all in with these and build my high-level character around them with 80 STR, 80 DEX, and 42 (the rest) INT, meaning I had perfect stats for this weapon. Turns out that even with this ideal setup, it loses out to the Starscourge Greatsword damage-wise (970 vs 979 damage). Just insane that the reward for beating the most difficult boss ever is an inferior version of a mid-game boss weapon.

              • They seriously did a copy of the twin prices from 8 years ago but couldn't bother to include the part where you can combine both weapons into one? Cmon we didn't need 3 of these just for weapon arts.

                • Anonymous

Fromsoft missed a big opportunity to make a unique moveset and have these be curved greatswords vs the larger one you get from Radahn the first time. Give us Twinned curved greatsword moveset! Combine the weapon arts on the two weapons into one, curved greatsword moveset and these swords would easily be my favorite. As is now, Pontiff 2.0 blades are better....and proof they could do it too.

Did some testing and it seems the AoW damage is physical/magic NOT HOLY. Damage scales with your str/dex/int stats but seems like quality scales better than str/int or dex/int. It does get boosted by the magic boosting physick as well. Does get a very slight boost from circlet of light but it's only like 3 extra damage.

so you're telling me we DONT get the fly up in the air with gravity rocks, on EITHER sword, because it HAS to be two swords, with very similar moves, no faith scaling btw, right...................

Some PSA for people interested on using this weapon.

Malenia's Great Rune has amazing synergy with the AoW of this weapon.

Each of the small pillars of light of the AoW will trigger the health recovery of the rune. You can trade without loosing any health. Using endure and quickly swapping to this weapon to use the AoW works wonders against big moves from some enemies.

Multi hit talismans also work very well with this weapon, when using the paired moveset and the AoW. They work much better with paired weapons than if you used normal weapon dual wielded. Damage builds up much faster and Godskin swaddling cloth will also trigger frequently for more heal recovery.

Sacrificial Axe or Serpent Curved Sword are also amazing offhand weapons to have, as you will recover FP or health when killing enemies.

Carian talisman + the new passive fp regen talisman + offhand Sacrificial Axe = AoW can be used now as if it were the regular light combo of the weapon

Does anybody know if Miquella's light from the Ash of War scales with Intelligence or Faith? I know the weapon itself scales with Strength. Dex, and Intelligence, but the AOW is so confusing to figure out.

Does the Miquella lights produced by the AOE get boosted by the Circlet Of Life? Says in the item description of the Circlet "While also boosting the power of Miquellas light.

"the swords of a lord who does not rely on physical strength and gravity alone." What else does this lord rely on? Apparently, miquella's light. More evidence he was not being controlled. These swords imply his autonomy.

It's an ultra great sword, that looks like a curved greatsword, that requires and scales (as usual with Radahn) with Strength, Dext and Int, while the ash of war is holy ????
For some reason it has a second variant with everything identical except the ash of war ? Why not put both ash of war into the same weapon like Renalla's weapon ?

What a big letdown for the final boss weapon. It's not even a side grade to the old Radahn sword, as crag blade is a way better ash of war.

They couldn't even be bothered to make a unique moveset for these, it's literally the final final boss's weapon

I blew a huge load when I realized I could become radan , the best boss fromsoft ever made. Best sword in the game

If someone has this weapon, can they test the AoW in pvp? From some videos I've watched it seems that the AoW is a pseudo true combo, as even though you can roll in between, its very hard to get out of its AoE. I saw one video where the full combo did 2k damage with very large AoE which seems way too OP.

So now we have 3 different variants of the same sword, 2 of which just have a different light beam ash attack. Truly the most Kevin game of all time...
