Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is a Colossal Sword in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Colossal Sword in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity and Arcane and is a good Weapon for __goodfor__.
One of the treasures of the ruined forges. Greatsword of ancient meteoric ore, ending in a sharp point. Fashioned from an excavated shard of an arrowhead that once was a part of the old gods' arsenal. A capable piercing weapon that excels at thrusting attacks.
Where to Find Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword in Elden Ring
The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword weapon can be found at the following location:
- Ruined Forge Starfall Past [See Shadow of the Erdtree Map]

Elden Ring Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: White Light Charge : it charges you forward, covering a large area, and can then be followed up with an burst of white lightning, damaging enemies within a small area.
- This weapon's skill deals magic damage and is therefore affected by the Magic Scorpion Charm and not the Lightning Scorpion Charm,
- This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War
- This weapon cannot be buffed with Incantations, Sorceries, or Consumables.
- Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones
- This weapon makes a great use of the Spear Talisman since its moveset consist of many trusting attacks.
- The Arcane scaling increases both the Physical and , in a minuscule amount, the Magic damage. And despite being only D the attack rating increase is significative (around 3-4 points per level from 19 to 50)
- As a Strength-Arcane weapon without secondary status effects, it doesn't fit well in most conventional builds but it can be use in a low Faith Paladin build that uses the Dragon Communion Seal to cast spells and damage negation buffs.
- With 54 Strength and 50 Arcane , the AR is 883 and 952 while 2 handed.

I checked its WA combo with/without twin blades talisman and somehow the DMG get reduced

Ash of war is great for punishing any enemy that missed their attack. Just use the first part and combo it into a basic light or heavy for mixups. Plus this looks like a finished and cooler Malikeths blade.
- Anonymous
God I wish this had been Str/Int with purple light charge instead, str/arc got so many toys in this dlc, it even does gravity-coloured magic damage.
- Anonymous
People seem to be confused about this weapon dealing magic damage. Common, it is a meteoric weapon. Particle effects on hit show, that this is imbued with gravitational magic since it came from the stars. Already forgot about astel and his boys, eh?

i like this as a backup to a reduvia build for bleed immune enemies. stat spread isn't ideal but it still does good damage and the different damage/playstyle type is nice without having to respec

Great weapon but the hit box on the lightning explosion seems messed up. Enemies need to be right next to each other to be hit with it when it's a huge spark. The hit box should be just as big as explosion. Also, if an enemy you're targeting is declined or elevated even a little from your level it won't hit. Love it otherwise though.

This thing smacks! The L2 is basically nameless kings thrust and you can follow up with R1 extremely fast. The poise damage this thing is unreal.
The PS5 version of this sword prior to Calibration v1.12.2 incorrectly required 16 INT instead of 19 ARC. It has been fixed as of Calibration v1.12.2 - you have to "LOG IN" to the game online to fetch the newest Calibration version.

For me, this is the jackpot. A colossal sword that has a stab R2? a gap closing ash of war that does amazing damage if I want to cash out? Synergizes with STR+ARC so I can lean into dragon communion builds with it? Sign me the hell up.
- Anonymous
The white "lightning" attack deals magic damage interestingly. It aow is boosted by the magic scorpion charm and other magic boosting effects.
- Anonymous
Scales much better with Arcane than the D scaling would suggest. In the 50-60 range I'm still getting +3 damage per Arcane level.
Worth using a shield with this, or too heavy? I assume with that new two handed talisman this thing is a beast without a shield
- Anonymous
Why the hell does this scale with arcane? It doesn't even have bleed or status. This is really a stupid design decision. This should be a faith weapon.
- Anonymous
"Weapon Skill: White Light Charge : it charges you forward, covering a large area, and can then be followed up with an burst of white lightning, damaging enemies within a small area."
The charge forward is very long, but the explosion is very small despite how large the light flash appears. Feels like it was designed to only blow up the person you skewer, not to blow up a group.

The arc scaling really feels off on this, I’m running 55/55 str arc and was maining Marais Executioner sword which continued to be better in almost every single situation. For str arc the two scenarios where you whip this out are duels where you don’t think you can pull off the weapon skill on Marais or Mohgs spear, and I do find myself putting it on in some of the tougher legacy dungeons simply because it has zero talisman synergy so there’s no opportunity cost to running a purely defensive talisman selection. The pokes are also very good for pvp. It’s a very niche weapon, and for str arc overshadowed by blood fiends arm in the DLC, but - it looks insanely cool.

This one is pretty decent for the final boss.
With 54 Strength, 52 Arcane, 19 Scadatree level, the Two Handed talisman, the Axe talisman, the Charge Attack tear, Golden Vow and Flame Grant me Strength, charge attacks hit for 4.6k. They drop to 3.9k soon-ish after Flame Grant me Strength expires. Still, enough damage to get him to phase 2 in 4 charge attacks. Can hit for over 6k with the Spear Talisman if you trade... but I wouldn't recommend trading, the boss is tanky as hell and you'll forfeit a charge attack opening to heal.
A weird interaction is that if the boss is slain with a crit, you don't spawn right in from of him in phase 2, but you remain at the entrance of the arena. Which is great, because if you run from the initial nuke immediately, you get to rebuff yourself as the boss's aren't all global.
It's decently easy to force a crit before p2 with the Poise Damage tear, but you have to trade with him at least once/sneak light attack in tight windows, since his combos usually allow him to reset his poise gauge.

At +9 Each point of Arcane seems to provide +2 physical AR and +1 magic AR. Strength +3 or 4.
At +9 with 40 Str/ 35 Dex/ 50 arc, this thing has about 700 physical AR and 140 magic AR. So it scales kind of like bloodborne split weapons with magic, really never getting high levels like other weapons. But the massive physical dmg alone sets it apart from some of those. Still, it’s essentially rocking a full time magic grease/paper as those usually provide +75 - 140 or so.
Haven’t even mentioned the sexy WA that can do 2-4k damage with both parts hitting. Worth specing into imo, but even if you hit just the arc requirement, and pump str, you’ll likely blow past my AR levels.
Oh. R2 poke 1 and 2 handed. Yeah.
Tested the AoW with only shard of alexander to see with what actually scales and here's the result:
45 str + min requirements = 1879
45 arc + strenght requirements = 1973
So yeah, the AoW scales with arcane

For INT requirement bug try:
"Calibration Update 1.12.2
The calibration update can be applied by logging into the multiplayer server.
If the Calibration Ver. listed at the bottom right of the title menu is not "1.12.2", then select LOGIN and apply the latest regulations before enjoying the game."

So this essentially being the weapon of a primordial outer god, I understand the Arcane requirement.
But it would have been cool if the DLC gave you more freedom to use certain weapons under different requirements. For example, I could easily see this also being a STR/INT weapon as astrologers would have studied the meteor this supposedly came from.
A lot of the new weapons fall into this category. Like the Putrecense Cleaver being associated with Ghostflame, but not having Int scaling.
I wouldn't be surprised if they meant for you to be able to use a lot of these weapons with different requirements and they just didn't get around to it.

So.... I know Elden Ring and Dark Souls are supposed to be different/unconnected. But if hawkshaw's taught me anything, color's really important in Elden Ring, and WHITE LIGHTNING from an OLD GOD'S ARSENAL made from an old arrowhead makes me get lots of ideas here. Haven't beaten the dlc yet but I'm feelin' something's afoot here
- Anonymous
I don't understand we need int or arcane to carry the weapon?
- Anonymous
Did a bit of testing on our friendly turtle pastor (seriously this guy doesn't mind at all and he's extremely hard to kill)
STR 35/ARC 80
Normal attack: 670
AoW first hit: 897
AoW first + second hit: 2954
STR 80/ ARC 19
Normal attack: 636
AoW first hit: 877
AoW first + second hit: 2889
Definitely not the most scientific approach but it did the job. Make what you will of this information, I'm sure someone will do a better job eventually.

This does not require int, it's 19 arcane, it scales with arcane and optimal stat setup for it is 54 strenght, 45 arcane.

Yall pay attention. Some of us have the wrong data for the weapon. So our version of this weapon has a 16 int requirement, and a b in arc scaling when fully upgraded. IDK why but it is a real problem.

I feel like the reach of this weapon should be talked about a bit. Its thrusting r2s have the reach of a pike.

I kinda want it to make purple lightning just to match the color with gravity spells.

Hitting people with it also produces a purple magic effect, sort of like how the Godslayer's Greatblade produces a black flame effect. Purely visual but looks dope as ****
- Anonymous
Who made the sheet for this weapon, its completely wrong, max upgrade does 338, not 377 and it requires int, not arcane, but it scales with arcane and the arcane scaling is wrong, max lvl it has B scaling in arcane, not D.

What "old gods' " is this description referring to? There is the "old god" (singular) from the time before Marika, and then there are OUTER Gods, like the Formless Mother and so on. But, there are no mentions of "old gods" (plural) in the lore so far. What "old gods" is this referring to?

Since this is a meteoric weapon, like the katana version, does it do any extra damage to something like Fallen Star Beast?

I love this weapon but im afraid they will nerf it in a patch or two, it's bigger, faster, and stronger than most Colossal weps.

I'm never going to regret making my character level 470 ever again. I forgot how annoying requirements could be lol, I've literally only had to meet 1 requirement in the entire dlc and that's for the twin moons sorcery. Anyway weapon does bonkers damage lol.

The Arcane scaling seems to impact both the Magic damage AND the Physical damage. Whether this is a bug or intended I'm not sure, but in terms of raw numbers it seems to make leveling Arcane have a much bigger impact on the weapon's damage than its "D" scaling would imply.
- Anonymous
This Weapon is absolutely Cracked And The AoW is Literally a Ballistic Missle Strike which Does Insane Dmg, Poise Dmg is Good too. But the best part about this Sword is the Combo of Heavy Attack into The Ash of War for Sure. Literally my Favourite Weapon from This DLC so far.

Found this weapon and fell in love with it. Same moveset as the Zwei, but longer and does much more damage per swing in every aspect. AoW is a far-reaching charging thrust with a short-range (hitbox starts at the thickest mass portion of the sword, above the hilt, so it's a very strange reach, will hit most things in front of you but not behind you unless they are RIGHT at your back) explosion followup. 35 FP cost in total. Will out-trade most attacks outside of bosses, including many regular PvE mobs and PvP scenarios. Incredible for PvP and invasions. The charging thrust only costs 10 FP without the followup and its lingering hitbox will rollcatch most people in majority of situations.
- Anonymous
Insanely strong sword. top runner for one of my favorite weapons in the game. Has a poke heavy like the Zwei, but a longer reach and MUCH beefier damage output/scaling.
*Personal weapon review, take what I say with a grain of salt and do what you will with what knowledge you have*
PvE wise, going for a charging R2 build is great. Piercing damage is no joke. Combined with UGS poise, you're gonna be a tough cookie to knock down while dishing out thousands of damage, and that's with only a 40 str/50 arc spread. Even with full survivability talismans, maybe a two-handed sword talisman and maybe Alexander's for an all around build would make you set. The AoW is good, but not its strong suit. It still does lots of damage, but IMO abusing the poke attacks on the UGS (crouch and R2) is more viable due to it not locking you in an animation for as long.
Not to mention, the followup AoW costs a fair amount of FP (35). There are definitely better AoWs for damage with much better FP ratios. In fact, I use the AoW more for the utility on its charge. The charge is absolutely incredible for switching to targets far away, plus it has fair stagger and poise to boot, and only a cost of 10 FP. I only really use the followup as a finisher or if the opportunity allows it. Although, at the end of the day, it IS a UGS, meaning it's slow and you will absolutely tank hits trying to throw some of your own.
PvP wise, it's an absolute truck. You can easily chunk someone for 1/4 or 1/3rd of their life bar from a single swing of this, make that half their lifebar with an R2 or full AoW combo, and with UGS poise and its dumptruck damage you can out-trade almost anyone and anything, outside of maybe someone with a stronger weapon (looking at you, anvil hammer) than you. It has ridiculous reach, so phantom range is REAL. This sword is so thick and so long that it will hit things you have no intention on hitting or don't even know how the hit connected.
The AoW here is the bread and butter in PvP since it combos so well with almost anything. It will stop at your target, despite having a large charge range, so overshooting is difficult. But you can R1, AoW to gap close a roll, R2 or 2nd AoW followup, or R1 again, even crouch poke after your AoW gap close to catch another roll - there are so many different things you can do with it. The AoW itself is an insanely powerful panic roll catcher, since its windup and lingering hitbox is so unorthodox that will catch almost anyone. I don't like the followup attack though, it has a very small hitbox so sometimes it doesn't hit, but sometimes it will hit everyone in an aoe. It seems like a tossup half the time. It makes the real damage portion of the AoW feel kind of lackluster, especially since it doesn't do as much damage as it seems like it should (I consistently hit around 1.2-1.3k with both the stab AND explosion) especially since it already seems hard enough to land, as it doesn't true combo with the first portion of the AoW.
All in all, in PvP the swing, poke damage and range more than outweighs the negatives of the lackluster AoW damage, since the charge stab only does around 300-400 damage vs its stronger damage followup explosion, but the speed of the charge alone combined with its hard-to-dodge hitbox is in itself insanely powerful as a standalone UGS PvP AoW even without the followup explosion.
PvE rating: 8/10. Big Damage. Big fashion. Big fun. Still a colossal weapon tho, GL swinging at bosses.
PvP rating: 7/10. Same as above, except GL swinging at people who know how to dodge or reverse backstab. GREAT for invasions, though.

So does the weapon art im mainly talking about the explosion scale with arcane?

The D in Arcane seems to be wrong. The scaling feels quite similar between ARC and STR (or at least that's what I'm seeing in the AR when I level each stat up).

RISE! RISE UNKINDLED ONE!!! YOUR TIME HAS COME KNIGHT SLAYER TOSRIG!

Spam the firat part of the weapon art to stay close and very personel forever. Weapon art has massive reach and borderline no stamina cost. It is very good, against things it can stagger. Against other enemies, mediocre. The second part of its skill does much less poise damage than one would think.

- Anonymous
This weapon is incredible!
- Stab R2 can be built around for a strength focused build. Almost all of the weapons AR comes from Strength.
- The first part of the weapon art is fast and track quite well. The FP cost is also relatively low, so it's still a great utility for strength focused builds.
- The second part of the weapon art hits like a truck and knocks down opponents, BUT it comes at a rather steep FP cost and seems to scale primarily with Acrane. Not recommended to spam with builds low on Arcane, though it does have its uses (e.g. knocking down knights)

clearly supposed to be an int weapon, it has magic damage on it (arcane is not associated with this) and no status of any kind (something commonly found on arcane weapons). its also called meteoric ore, commonly associated with int. it will likely be fixed to be int/str in a patch

This has to be a Devil May Cry reference right? The weapon is Dante’s Devil sword and the weapon art is Stinger.

Apparently its bugged on console, which is why people are wondering about the Int requirement

Soul Edge is that you? Very close to that weapons unique shape. At least in it's classic form.
Tldr Soul Edge is the giant monster sword from the Soul Calibur fighting game series. Specifically the form that's in SC2 and SC3.

This thing is so sick, big R2 pokes when 1H and 2H, a stinger weapon art with an aoe followup, and arcane/str scaling. It's like a dream come true for my arcane dragon incant build.
- Anonymous
Can someone please elaborate how a weapon with "meteoric ore" in its name is an arcane weapon? I was so excited when I saw this thinking it was a proper str/int weapon.
Sure arcane builds get a cool weapon, but nothing about this strikes me as arcane.
Royal great sword is the only int colossal sword. Radahn's and ruins greatsword are strength weapons with an intelligent requirement.
- Anonymous
To others.
Both PC and Consoles have different scaling, so it is bugged.
I think PC is more correct in that it has arc scaling and arc requirement. Console has int requirement but arc scaling.
Scaling of arc is also higher in console at max upgrade compared to PC (changes to B in STR and Arc on console whereas it's B in STR and D in Arc on PC)
- Anonymous
One of those rule of cool weapons that looks better than it actually is. Not that it's bad, just don't expect it to be as long or as strong as it probably looks to be.
It appears to be bugged (on PS5 at least). Without the arcane requirement being met you can still use the Ash of War to full effect. It may be that arcane isn’t meant to be a requirement and there’s some wonky code adding it to the weapon by accident, or it isn’t reading the requirements properly.

As if the weapon art wasn’t cool enough this has the FUGS poke R2 !

This weapon is OP. Personally it's a must if you use collosal weapons. Weapon art is amazing and fast. You can close distances. And on top of that, insert another input and get a *highly* damaging explosion (was doing 3k). Who wouldn't like that?
My new favorite weapon, the charged heavy attack and AoW helped a ton for doing consistent damage to the final DLC boss.
