Miquellan Knight's Sword is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. The Miquellan Knight's Sword scales primarily with StrengthFaith, and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for dealing Physical Damage, but also can deal Holy Damage during combat.

Sword forged by servants of Miquella of the Haligtree, with a design modeled after those carried by Carian knights. Instead of glintstone however, amber from the Haligtree is embedded in the blade.
A sumptuous piece, yet it has never been offered to any knight — an ill-starred sword with no master. Skill: Sacred Blade

Miquellan Knight's Sword Location in Elden Ring

The Miquellan Knight's Sword can be found in the following location:

  • Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree: Found atop a bell tower. You can reach this bell tower by entering the second alcove on the left of the eastern walkway, heading up the stairs and then jumping onto the tree branch on the balcony. Follow the tree branch up and across to reach the tower.
If you have unlocked the Haligtree Roots site of grace, you can get to the bell tower where the ladder is by simply taking the elevator in one of the adjacent rooms from the site of grace, up the stairs next to the scarlet bloom. [Elden Ring Map here]

Nifty, but late game bosses have 40%, 60%, and even 80% holy damage negation --- combined with abysmal scaling and low damage and you have the world's shiniest rolled up piece of newspaper to lightly whack the Thor/Baldur combo and the glowing cosmic being that puppets him.

      • Anonymous

Pulls the best damage from leveling Strength and Dex, but you still want to level faith a bit for increased damage with Sacred Blade.

At 35/35/35 it gets 589 AR one handed, 386 is phys, 202 in holy.
At 43/42/20 it gets 602 AR one handed, 411 is phys, 190 is holy.

Note that this is for a 150 build, here's for a 120 for you PvP fellas:
(Keep in mind that I am using 60 Vig and am on a Confessor for the starting class)
At 30/30/25 it gets 563 AR onehanded, 369 is phys, 194 is holy.
At 25/25/35 it gets 553 AR onehanded, 350 is phys, 202 is holy.
Of course you can always take some health away and instead use that for damage, but the D scaling can only take you so far.

Generally speaking, you're better off investing into str and dex more so than faith. Even though each stat is D, the holy scaling only gets to D after some upgrades meaning that it's a lower D scaling than str and dex. If you want to take better advantage of Sacred Blade, it's probably better to just use the Alexander Shard.

My take away: not a terrible SS, in all honestly. In terms of pure AR it beats some of the lesser SS's, but it's split damage can be more of a bane than a boon for most cases. The unique R2 can be paired with the Axe talisman for good lunging attacks, and it's length isn't all too bad. My only wish is that it had higher scaling across the board, because D/D/D is pretty damn bad.

Curved sword talisman. Straight swords are one of the few weapons in this game with solid guard counters in pvp. I like no skill in my shields because sacred blade got buffed and is a very powerful ranged option.

          • Anonymous

For how far in the game you have to get to, in what is the hardest area in the game, this weapon is extremely underwhelming. The unique R2 doesn't come close to making up for the triple D scaling. Throw in the fact it uses Holy damage at a point where it's mostly a detriment and you can't swap the skill or buff, and you have a weapon that's more than likely just gonna sit in your box forever.

It's a shame too, because it's a flat out gorgeous sword. I love the details on it so much.

            • Anonymous

Literally the only straight sword in the game that never gets above a D in scaling in anything. Y u do dis, From?

              • Anonymous

Its found so far in the game and it only has flat D scaling across 3 boards, while you can easily connect a charged heavy on this the stat scaling doesn't really help much. I would've hoped its at least B in faith or double C's in either strength or dex and then faith.

                • 15 seconds buff? To give you some extra holy in the late game where everything is resistant to holy anyway? And we can't even change the weapon art? Alright.

                  • Anonymous

My favorite straight sword. The unique r2 is a game changer for it. Can charge and lunge forward and staggers really well. Follow up r2 same move as a follow up r1 but more power. The r1 is faster obviously. Running r2’s into r1’s combo. Great weapon two handed. Why don’t other straight swords have this special r2? Scaling is a bit weird for end games weapon but it does enough damage fully upgraded for me to be happy. I don’t need a powerhouse. I care more about movesets and fun over most power.
Basically a katana moveset in a straight sword with the best r2 you can find imo

                    • Anonymous

It has higher dmg and physical attack than a Sacred Longsword in case you're wondering between infusing a regular Longsword or this weapon. But if dmg doesn't matter to you then it's a difference between rather you want the Longsword stab R2 or this weapon's delayed quick backslash R2. This weapon is better for dedicated paladins as it's specialized for faith and holy. If you started the game with a longsword on a paladin build then this sword is a natural transition.

                        Kenneth serves the TRUE ORDER.
He gifts you an Erdsteel dagger, which was forged for the Erdtree Royalty.
A pair for this dagger is found at the Royal Capital.
He offers you the title of knight, but can't give it to you yet, for some reason.
Miquellan knight's Sword is described as a Sword without a knight, and is found at the Haligtree, which belongs to a member of the Erdtree Royalty.
A knight without a sword and a sword without a knight.
Kenneth is related to Miquella. Further hints are given via a few details, like the merchat near his fort selling St Trina's Arrows, a few St Trina and sleep related content around the region of West Limgrave, and the fact that the Knight that took over his fort wields blood magic, something related to the Formless Mother and Mogh, who, again, are related to Miquella/St. Trina. Also, the most obvious: Half of the Haligtree Medalion is found in the fort.
Perhaps if we never give Nepheli Loux the Storm King ashes, and we go as far as finding the Haligtree, get our hands in this sword and return to Kenneth, perhaps he will finally award us the tittle.
Smells like those secret covenant stuff.

                          Very underrated weapon.
Yes sacred blade is a bit slow, but it can catch a lot of people off guard with good timing especially casters(500-600damage).
For some odd reason in pvp from my experience at least, players seem to underestimate the fully charged heavy attack(600-800 damage).
It also has high chance of breaking stance(really good for PVE mobs) and shields(PVE/PVP).
Don't let the scaling fool you(it pretty much means nothing).
If you don't mind distributing your attribute points to 3 different categories(STR/DEX/FAITH) then it might be a good weapon to try out.

TLDR Miquella's sword scaling is a lie, requires precise timing to be effective and 3 different attributes invested.

Thinking of making an int/fth build with a hint of strenght and dex in it, powerstancing this and the carian knight sword, could it work?

                            • I think we can all agree that the weapon art should've been something unique. As the description tells it is the counter part of carian sword.. Well.. Why not give it basically Carian Grandeur but in golden and holy? I don't give a damn about a 15 seconds buff with projectile that takes a bit too long to cast. In a mmo 15 seconds buffs are good. In souls games they are trash and not worth the commitment and effort imo

Why FS? First, you put a Quality Holy Infused weapon End Game that has Holy resistant Boss. Second, you have this sword scaling DDE and Low AR/105 and Third, @ +10 only improves to DDD.... Smh. At least give this weapon BBC +10, increase AR to 125. This sword only Viable with very High Level character, say Level 200 with no less than 50 in Str/Dex/Fth

                                • Anonymous

Neat weapon, but it's a shame From restricts people from putting ashes on weapons like this.
Why not let us change ashes/skills without changing affinity/element dmg, or make the weapon change it's element dmg depending on the ash used.

This is just a non-customizable longsword with a different R2 at the very end of the game. I like it's design, but I wish it was more unique.

At least make the non-customizable skills unique. Like make it's sacred blade blue, and do magic instead of holy or something.

I’ve come back to say I still think this is the best straight sword and with the buff I’m hitting people for 5-700 damage. I’ve also realized guard counters on str8 swords are good in pvp and use a shield with scimitar talisman. Sword and board has never been stronger.

Wanna this weapon, but with lightning damage (not holy) and with Ash of War like Thunderstorm / Ice Lightning Sword

                                      • Anonymous

How to make this better ,give it a B scaling in faith at least and a weapon skill projectile like lothric's holy sword from DS3.

                                        • Anonymous

36/36/24 str/dex/fth and it vigor checks people. Weapon art seems bad but the buff is powerful. So powerful I now use it with holy shrouding tear. Landing the projectile nets me some 600 damage avg

                                          • Anonymous

Stack Golden Vow, Holy atk boost physick flask, and the weapon art at once and you will get AR in the mid to high 800s, on a straight sword. Along with having an amazing R2, I firmly believe this is the best straight sword on a hybrid faith build

                                            • Anonymous

It seems to scale optimally at 45/45 STR and DEX and 20 FTH, So it's a quality weapon that dabbles in faith.

                                              • Anonymous

This is such a strange weapon. In theory it should be a bad weapon, but when upgraded the scaling is higher than DDD and it does decent damage.

                                                • Anonymous

bad scaling but more guaranteed attack power, damage output similar to other straight swords in actual fight. Wish it could have more default attack power to make it a "raw infused weapon" choice for low sl runs. Currently the scaling is not low enough and the default attack power is not high enough to make it a good choice for my low sl run characters.

                                                  • Anonymous

Don't let the dismal-looking triple D scaling fool you. At level 130 with 43dex 50fai 25str, this thing does damage on par with all my other +9 somber weapons. I'd say it's just slightly worse than Winged Scythe, but I still really like it and it pairs awesome with a greatshield.

this sword is a meme and the fexra comments are trying so hard to get naive people to believe in it. dont. its scaling is atrocious and even low level "minimum stat" builds for throw away meme pvp have dozens of better options.

                                                      • Anonymous

Best straight sword for pvp. I’m only running 22 str and 18 dex, 32 fth at 125 to boot. Not even the optimal stats but I can reliably win using the amazing move set. Charged r2 will catch people off guard and uncharged will roll catch point blank. The guard counter with shield will also catch people off guard if they face hug and try to trade. The ash of war leaves much to be desired but it can catch people if you know they’re about to cast or chug. The buff from the ash is very nice tho. Won’t stand up against multiple opponents with my stats... but I imagine with 40/40 dex/str it would

Very strange weapon. Some more range than usual straight sword, but so awful scaling in late game. Lost 30% from my holy damage? No thanks.
P.S. Nice Heide Knight`s attack, also.

This weapon is extremely strong for twinking. High AR, low scaling, unique R2. The AoW also adds +85 flat holy damage, which is busted for low-level PvP. Holy resistance is often disregarded and this sword will make you regret it.

                                                            • Anonymous

Absolutely melts bosses, even those that have holy resists. The range of the lunge on its fully charge R2 cannot be understated. It comes out quick and has a lot of stagger too. It doesn't seem damaging at first glance, but with the right buffs I was able to keep it around ~800 AR for most boss fights. Not the best available for sure, but the moveset compensated for it big time for me.

                                                                Fancy R2s? Check.

                                                                Roll & Poke? Check.

Holy damage? Not ideal, but OK.

Only attainable right before an end-game gauntlet of holy-resistant bosses? Come on From, you were so close.

                                                                • Anonymous

It does not have the same R2 as the Carian Knight's Sword; this sword, you bring it down to the ground and sweep forward on both attacks, whereas the Carian sword brings it up horizontally in front of you to block and then sweeps diagonally down.

                                                                  • Anonymous

meet the min requirements for this and it does a decent amount of damage, whats really good is even with 60 vigor you have 93 free levels that otherwise wouldve went to scaling that can go wherever you want Eg you can go 80 vigor and 80 endurance and just be a super tank with all the heaviest armor

                                                                    • It would've been interesting if they gave it a buffed version of sacred blade sorta like how the halo scythe has a buffed version of the AOW variant, allowed it to kill skeletons without the need for buffs like some other holy weapons, or you know, just gave it a wicked cool unique WA like empowering it for more holy damage and lengthens the blade for a longer reach or something incredible.

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

The Charged R2 on this sword is a monster. I thought losing the poke was going to be a huge issue, but the range and stagger on the charged heavy is almost like an on-demand guard counter. (Same damage, slightly less stagger) This straight sword will turn even the most devout R1 spammer into a believer.

                                                                          • Anonymous

It's so weird hearing people trash this sword without having used it. Scaling letters lie to you in these games. The FUGS in Dark Souls 3 supposedly has an 'S rank' in Strength scaling but never outpaces the Greatsword, yet Ledo's Greathammer, the heaviest and highest STR requirement weapon in that game, only gets an A rank.

This thing is a pocket nuke, especially with its high stagger strong attacks, perfect as a mainhand, offhand, or dual wield setup for a Quality build that wants holy damage, or a DEX/FTH build, or STR/FTH build. It shines when used with hybrid setups, and buffs its own damage with Sacred Blade.

                                                                            • Anonymous

I transferred this to a new character and it is very much a Quality weapon, not a Faith weapon. Great for sword-and-board paladins that only use enough faith for healing and defensive incantations. It's a real shame it's so late game though, since it's a great starting weapon for builds that want that holy knight feel that don't want to pump Faith to extremely high levels early.

                                                                              • Anonymous

So this sword gets a VERY bad wrap and you really need to look past the scaling letters. The weapon art for this sword (which cannot be changed due to being a somber weapon) is Sacred Blade. Sacred Blade in addition to letting you kill undead without an extra hit, doing bonus damage to undead, and shooting out a holy wave attack also buffs your weapon with additional holy damage. That means this is a split damage sword that can actually be buffed by using it's weapon art, that's pretty rare. But you can apply Sacred Blade to other weapons though, it exists as an Ash? Right, however when standard weapons are turned Sacred their Str/Dex scaling falls to an abysmal E with C Faith scaling. This sword retains D scaling across the board, and a higher base physical damage than any other straight sword when turned Sacred. That's the trick, this isn't a Faith build sword, this is a Quality build sword that let's you do very high levels of Holy damage, and it will have higher AR than any quality straight sword unless you maybe get 60+ in both Dex/Str. With the right build, once the weapon art is used, this sword will break 700 AR..... 700 AR on a straight sword. It also has an interesting high stagger unique R2 attack using vertical swings. So pay this weapon some respect, it is better than you think it is.

                                                                                • Anonymous

Alternatively, to reach the thing, instead of just taking a walk from Prayer Room site of grace, you can use the Haligtree Roots one. Head into the side room with the big flower, take the elevator up, round the corner to the left outside the tower and up a ladder right to the sword. Don't know why anyone else would need that particular elevator, unless maybe jumping over to the outer ring?

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Really needs a buff to its faith and possibly another scaling. This thing is suppose to be the faith counterpart to the Carian Knight sword, yet scales worse in every way. Even its base damage is worse. The main thing going for it is how nice it looks.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

For those of you looking for a weapon to cosplay Artoria Pendragon (Saber) from Fate Stay Night and Fate Grand Order, this is THE Excalibur Look Alike in both skills and design.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Golden Epitaph is just plain better, but if you want a decent offhand for dual wield straight swords as a Faith build with low Str/Dex, this is as good a choice as any.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

So, I really don't get what the use case for this sword is. By the time you can possibly get it, odds are any build that would want to use it has a fully upgraded Golden Epitaph/Sacred straight sword of your choice, both of which do better base Holy damage and have better faith scaling. I guess you could use it as a skeleton-killer on a quality build, but you can have a straight sword with Quality scaling and the sacred blade skill for that as soon as you get the Iron Whetblade in Stormveil.
I'm just really struggling to see what you can do with this that you can't do better with weapons accessible far earlier in the game.
Other than looking really nice, I just don't see why you'd bother using this.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

Int Sword: At the second area near the start of the game.

Faith Sword: At the secret optional last area of the entire game that most people won't even find.

Not to mention that it feels like half the weapons in this game have an int requirement.

                                                                                            • Anonymous

I finally got this sword but I'm disappointed with the scaling. Everything stays on D, which is a Damn shame. If I make Blessed Infused Longsword it will end up with much higher AR.
This is for a pure Faith build with min Str and Dex. A Quality build with min Faith would rock this sword with much better results.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

Absolutely love this sword. The design is gorgeous and it hits like a truck. My favourite weapon in the game along with the Carian Knight sword.

                                                                                                • Anonymous

very confused as at +9 the game says it has d/d/d scaling and all of the said scaling is worse than the +9 epitaph, the only difference being that this weapon has much higher base physical damage. While it does have a beam attack for a pure quality build or even a paladin build, unless you want your weapon to be more physical damage-oriented then I would suggest the epitaph as strictly better for pure ar and scaling.

                                                                                                  • Anonymous
