Miquellan Knight's Sword is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. The Miquellan Knight's Sword scales primarily with Strength, Faith, and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for dealing Physical Damage, but also can deal Holy Damage during combat.
Sword forged by servants of Miquella of the Haligtree, with a design modeled after those carried by Carian knights. Instead of glintstone however, amber from the Haligtree is embedded in the blade.
A sumptuous piece, yet it has never been offered to any knight — an ill-starred sword with no master. Skill: Sacred Blade
Miquellan Knight's Sword Location in Elden Ring
The Miquellan Knight's Sword can be found in the following location:
- Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree: Found atop a bell tower. From the Prayer Room site of grace, walk forward into the Haligtree. Not far from the Prayer Room, you will see a Haligtree Soldier sitting down. Before the soldier is a ledge to the right you can walk out on, attached to a tower. Walk on this connector all the way to the tower. Drop down on the tower's ledge, and walk this outer rim to the opposite side. There will be a ladder that takes you up to the sword.
- Alternatively, if you've already unlocked the Haligtree Roots site of grace, simply take the elevator in the adjacent room with the Scarlet Aeonia bloom (not the one in Malenia's boss room). After the elevator stops, get out, walk around the tower and find the ladder. It will take you up to the sword.

I know it might be a stupid question, but does anyone if the r2 attack boostes by Leda's armor?

This weapon is a good example of how scaling letters can be a poor indicator for viability. Scaling is based on both the letters and base damage of a weapon.
This has low scaling, but good base damage which makes it competitive with other straight swords on a proper build. Despite being D str/D dex/D fth, it's more of a quality weapon. Online calculators show it has 52 str/52 dex/36 fth scaling.
On my str/mininal fth build it's just a slightly worse fire longsword.
AR when 2handing at 54 str/13 dex/18 fth:
Fire broadsword: 620
Fire longsword: 603
Miquellan knight sword: 588
Broadsword is included because it's the highest ar straightsword. Longsword more closely matches moveset. Fire infusion for both to show split damage. Miquellan is the 3rd strongest with these stats.
All around D scaling looks bad on paper, but it's only sacrificing ~15-32 AR for a unique heavy which isn't the worst tradeoff.

Since miquella and radhan would be a god and a lord, their houses got together and merged, like the miquella knight copying the carians ones.
- Anonymous
This & offhand Dueling Shield with Flaming Strike is something else for a crazy Sword & Board build, the R2 has crazy range and having an instant wave of fire to blow enemies back and followup again the pressure is wild.

Beating Miquella and Radahn with this sword would be pure poetry

that R2 tho… love the R2, often use this solely for that move. This & Warhawk talon have the best straight sword heavies

this is one of the few connections of miquella and radhan having something

I think it's still worthy to give this weapon some tries.
The skill shoots a holy beam on the enemies, so it's a good kind of mid/long range attack.
After using the skill, the weapon gets buffed with more Holy, making it good against enemies who aren't weak against Holy, or those who are completely weak to it.
Not only in the DLC, but all the skeletons and zombies in the base game are really weak against this type of attack, mainly the beam.
Death Birds, as well as some enemies around Limgrave and Caelid are weak against Holy.
And finally, the DLC gave this weapon a good chance to shine.
If you can have 2 of them, use their skills to keep them buffed, will make you kill anything faster. Of course, if they aren't strong against Holy.
- Anonymous
Since the scaling is so low all around, what’s the best attribute to maximize for best damage?
- Anonymous
Since the 1.14 update the uncharged heavy comes out insanely fast
- Anonymous
I imagjne this weapon is like the astoras straight sword. It has pretty high base damage, holy damage and gets a flat damage boost from the sacred blade. Might work well on a low lvl co-op /invader character. Shame you get it so late in the game.
The in-game listed damage type for this weapon is wrong. It says Standard/Pierce like all other straight swords though due to the unique heavy attack and non-infusable nature there is no piercing attacks in its entire moveset.
- Anonymous
I don’t care if its scaling is mid. It looks awesome, it feels fantastic to use, and it shreds undead enemies.
- Anonymous
The base damage of this sword MORE than makes up for the crappy scaling. You could do a faith build and still use this bad boy without issue.

- Anonymous
I like using this Sword with the needle Knight Leda armour set.
- Anonymous
As others have said, I believe this is intended as a way to give quality builds access to holy damage. It doesn’t matter the faith scaling is awful because you’d only swap to it when dealing with holy weak enemies anyways, and sacred infusing a sword yourself would waste your Str/dex investment
- Anonymous
Is there a correlation between Miquellan Knights and Needle Knights?
- Anonymous
Not only does this weapon win the elden ring fashion award for best design, but it also slaps. Look, the D scaling is not ideal but it more than makes up for it with its high base damage. As a result, this weapon is good on a Quality + Faith at any RL, especially at low level pvp. This thing is a twinker’s dream as far as straight swords go.
- Anonymous
I'm starting to ask myself if I should part with this sword. Not because it's bad. In fact, I'm in love with it. But the build I've been using it has been mostly Dex, and I wonder if I should commit even further into it by dropping my brain stats to the minimum needed for beginner spells. It would be harsh for me since I already invested some of my Somber Dragon stones into the Treespear and Vyke's War Spear as well.
- Anonymous
tfw you're secretly the best weapon in the game but nobody knows because they don't respect D scaling
- Anonymous
I'm glad there are so many enemies weak to holy damage in SOTE, my favorite weapon got so much use and got me through so many tough situations. And I LOVE that they remembered to add the scabbard onto the PS5 version
- Anonymous
Did SOTE with power stance Milady/Leda's Sword, but came back to this for dueling immediately after. It's a great all around weapon for PVP. R2 roll catches and Sacred Blade to punish buffing/casting, so you can keep the pressure on even from a distance and take the fight to your opponent. I think you might sleep on it because it's got bad scaling for a straight sword, but it's real good
- Anonymous
The reason to use this has to be the R2, decent length and style. If not, you could be doing better.
- Anonymous
that R2 would be really nice if i could replace sacred blade with LITERALLY ANY OTHER SKILL.
why is miyazaki like this? treespear got an infusable alternative in the DLC, why couldn't this? baffling design decisions.
- Anonymous
Needs a C in at least one stat when maxed out. As is it's too weak and found too late. Any build using at least 16 faith has way better options.
- Anonymous
only acknowledgement users of this thing got in the dlc was the fact that they added a scabbard for it lmao
- Anonymous
This was supposed to be a ceremonial sword to commemorate Radahn becoming Miquella consort. It's similar to Golden Order + Carian designs, but has Haligtree amber.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Most stylish R2 in the game on top of amazing design. This is not arguable.
- Anonymous
Becomes very much viable as a main weapon at higher levels- I don't have an optimal build for this thing yet it works just fine on my STR-FAI character at +10
- Anonymous
For some reason the scabbard is missing in the ps5 version. It's a pity because it's the best looking one of the straight swords imo. Hope it gets fixed. Are there any other known cosmetic differences between the versions?
- Anonymous
You can close some serious distance with Aspects of the Crucible: Horns into this sword's R2.
- Anonymous
Highest required stat is faith, but it is the lowest scaling stat. Why is this a quality weapon with some faith scaling tacked on? Same with carian knight's sword.
- Anonymous
Tired of unique weapons being tied to un-unique ashes. At least give them something extra to make them the best at that ash. The Miquellan knight’s sword could fire off mini golden blades on its R2’s while buffed and the Carian Knight sword could use the horizontal version of Carian Grandeur that the Lazuli scholars use. Just small stuff like that would make these weapons immeasurably more fun to use.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Easily one of the best R2 in PVP
Roll catches and difficult ti be parried
- Anonymous
They way they could have redeemed this weapon is make it infusable while maintaining its faith scaling, just like the Erdsteel Dagger. Hybrid Int/Fth builds only have the dagger and the claymen harpoon, so a 3rd option (even late game) would be a welcome addition. Plus, Int/Fth scaling would be canonically appropriate for a Haligtree knight using Miquella's incantations.
- Anonymous
Wow, another faith sword with terrible scaling. Who would have thought. Why even make these in the first place? Who even uses them?
- Anonymous
"An ill starred sword with no master"
This is it. This is my Master Sword
- Anonymous
36 STR 36 DEX and 25 FTH, this has 584 AR, Golden Epitaph with exact stat is 594 AR. Use the Last Rites(Aura Buff) from Golden Epitaph to buff your damage 5%(10% against PvE) and add 25 flat holy damage to both sword, then use Sacred Blade from Miquellan Sword to add even more to the main hand(100 flat holy), now it's on u, how good can you play the R2, if you just mainly L1, you might want other sword instead.

The Scabbard is missing in the PS5 Version of Elden Ring :(

Hella range on this thing's charged R2. The whole animation (the pose, the dash, the slash) reminds of a gameboy advance Fire Emblem game, lol. Because of how late you get it (and its damage type), you can't really use it as your "main weapon" except on a NG+ run or for the DLC. I'm considering trying NG+ with it though (I've never tried NG+).
It's scaling values are 0.52, 0.52, 0.36 (STR, DEX, FTH). Its base damage values are almost identical to the Crystal Sword, meaning it's very physical focused, but the Crystal Sword has a clear Strength focus (0.81 STR, 0.27 DEX) while the Miq Sword is just Quality (although STR is ofc better if you're two-handing) which makes it cost more levels to get a half-decent damage increase (but its base damage is very high compared to e.g. broadsword, to help make up for the very poor stat growth). The length is good (fourth longest). The holy split damage helps out against, well, Miners. The appearance of this sword is, in my opinion, a bit ugly (I just don't like the sort of blockiness or the inlaid amber, for whatever reason). But that unique R2 really makes me want to use it.
- Anonymous
This would be pretty good if it were available earlier. Unfortunately it's a little too unfocused for PvP, and in PvE what's even left that you'd want to use a holy sword for by the time you've gotten to Elphael? Maybe holy damage will be useful in the DLC, but unless that happens it's just kind of too little too late.
- Anonymous
Obviously meant for hybrid builds that go for mostly str and/or dex and invest in faith to access golden vow. High base damage and scaling in 3 stats gives this good AR
- Anonymous
The design is very astrological. Looking at the blade you see a single large center gem aligned with 9 smaller gems and six empty swirls, while the hilt has a single large gem surrounded by 13 smaller gems in a 5 pair 1 triplet design. It seems to be a heliocentric motif as compared to the carian knight's design which seems to depict the primal current instead. I do however wonder about the chosen number of astral bodies, being 1:9 would make it our solar system, 1:15 and 1:13 both don't mean anything to me.
- Anonymous
this weapon is a warcrime, three way split scaling+force Sacred damage? this is on the level of the dancer twinblades in how bad it is
- Anonymous
Absolutely not as bad as comments make it out to be. One of the longest straight swords with an INCREDIBLY good R2 lunge, and carves a niche as one of the only weapons to excel on a Quality build (which isn't saying much, but still). I have a ton of fun with it on a 20 STR, 55 DEX, 25 FTH build. Also: drip.
- Anonymous
if you somehow made this work in either pve or pvp i wish only the best for you if you go into the dlc with it

If you've been playing a new character as a FTH-based sword n' board Paladin the whole game and have almost no points in STR or DEX, but want to use this sword because of Sacred Blade, you're better off using using a Sacred Longsword with Sacred Blade.
At 50 faith, you would need 39 STR and 40 DEX (or vice versa) before Miquellan Knight's Sword starts outpacing a Sacred Longsword in attack rating.
- Anonymous
They just had to put holy damage and sacred blade on it didn't they. Can't just do that yourself.
- Anonymous
I've been using this weapon in pvp arena for a few months now on a sword and board quality build and highly highly recommend it. The fully charged R2 has amazing roll catch potential and the sacred blade aow is a good ranged attack with a flat 100 damage buff. Pair it with a high guard boost shield (I use banished knight's) with carian retalliation for the parry and axe talisman for more damage. And since it's a straight sword it uses little stamina for its attacks, allowing you to play more aggressively (running R2 op). Curved Sword Talisman and Shield Talisman work great for guard countering too.

You want to know a secret? Power Stance this with the Golden Epitaph and drink a Physick containing the Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear and the Thorny Cracked Tear, and wear Millicent's Prosthesis and the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, or just the regular Winged Sword Insignia if you don't like the prospect of doing Millicent's questline a second time in New Game Plus. It's quite the powerful build, but you won't see anyone using it because they think Holy damage is not viable due to several end game bosses having high Holy resistance and this sword being only available in a late game area. What 99% of these players fail to realize is that this is not the same case for PvP, where PSSS (Power Stanced Straight Swords) are a particularly viable strategy. It's a secret to everybody.
- Anonymous
The fact you only get this weapon in end game is a joke considering all the other more powerful stuff you can get by mid game. And just to make it worse you get it when all the bosses are strong to faith. All this does is encourage weapon dropping.
- Anonymous
Honestly a pretty good straight sword. The combination of high base damage, low scaling, holy element, and early discoverable weapon art make it the perfect early/mid game weapon. FS really did it dirty by only giving it when your remaining bosses probably all resist holy.
All around D scaling looks pretty bad, but the higher base damage makes up for it. Str/Dex scaling are even and Fth gets the lowest value, so don't bother using this on pure Fth. It only performs a bit worse (~4-20 ar) than an elemental broadsword on a hybrid Str/Fth or Dex/Fth build. 25 Fth is enough for golden vow, then pump your main damage.
L2 is solid due to range and weapon buff. R2 is nice, but needs a full charge to really use the dash. Neither moves will outright win any fights for you. They're better used as mix-ups to pressure people and keep them guessing.
P.S. Sacred blade keeps getting buffed in patches. Maybe it'll be a god tier move when the game stops getting updates.

Many of these comments feel like they’ve never upgraded and built the dang thing.
It does great damage. Yes, it is partly holy, but not every benchmark is determined by how tough Radagon’s hair is to cut with it.
Just love whenever I need to “fight” a Deathbird.
Oh, and the R2 is good at smacking dragons chins.

Sometimes I'll just... stare at this weapon. the ornamentation around the cross guard is gorgeous.

Sexy R2. I only wish it wasn't in the end game area. Also Square Off with this R2 would be even more sex
- Anonymous
D scaling all around the board at max upgrade level, found in an endgame area when almost everything there is resistant to holy damage, non-unique ash of war that only scales with faith so it does abysmal levels of damage even tested against enemies non-resistant to holy. Its only purpose is for the lore.

I adore this weapon on a quality build, my true mentor, my guiding holy light...

Can this be used on a str build with min investment in dex and faith?

This and the Carian knight’s sword should have had modified versions of stance, maybe with this getting a unique heavy (thinking a golden carian piercer getting summoned) and the carian getting a custom heavy (that summons the Carian grandeur) that way both retain the ability to tackle shields with the R1 but gain actually unique R2’s
The only thing good about this weapon is its R2 attack. The broadsword straight sword with sacred blade and sacred infusion does more damage.
- Anonymous
Most beautiful straight sword in the game. If only you could put square off on it and get it a little earlier, it would be a 11/10.

I love the moveset on this sword so dang much. Its damage output is pretty legit as well. I dual wielded them at +10 and just wrecked sh*t.
At +10 w/ 80 str, 80 dex, 80 faith this bad mamma jamma gets 722 AR.
Attack power as follows:
Phys: 257 + 241
Holy: 166 + 56
- Anonymous
Your build doesn't matter, just get this and epitaph for power stancing and anything Undead just insta dies. The AOW of the epitaph is a 100% dmg boost buff on top of the holy you are already doing. If you meet the reqs, just use them when fighting skellies and whatnot.
- Anonymous
This is a great weapon for a NG+ Prophet, who only needs 1+ Dex to wield. Either this or Golden Epitaph (1+ Str). Differences being:
-Miquellan does more physical dmg than holy compared to Golden Epitaph, for nearly identical ARs.
-Has slightly more reach than Golden Epitaph
-The Miquellan AoW's flat holy damage buff makes it more effective at low levels than the 30% buff with the GE AoW.
Nothing game-changing obviously, but that's me stanning for this "late game weapon" because I like it and secretly simp for Miquella.
- Anonymous
People care way too much about scaling letter on weapons. It might be all D scaling but in terms of ar its comparable to other straight swords on a strength faith build or quality faith build. Its definitely not the strongest weapon in the game but if you like the unique heavy you can still find very good success with it. Personally its one of my favorite weapons in the game.

Makes me so sad this is a quality/faith weapon rather than just faith. The sword looks super cool and has a good move set but Lordsworn beats it out on faith and faith/int.

Not gonna lie, that r2 sold me regardless of stats. Those who live in death get insta-killed.

If you want to torture yourself to get this at extremely low level and weapon refinement for the express purpose of then invading people with an unfair advantage, the crystal sword is available much much earlier and has almost identical base damage and requirements.

To the folks who aren't sure why this is a late game weapon when better weapons are available earlier, that's only true if you play at high levels. If you are trying to beat the game at low levels (let's say a lev 1 run) then it makes sense for this to be a late game weapon. This is one of the best low level weapons in the game, and the game makers knew that low level runs have always been a Souls players' staple.

The longsword/sacred blade upgrade if you were still using that when u got to haligtree I guess
