Miquellan Knight's Sword is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. The Miquellan Knight's Sword scales primarily with StrengthFaith, and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for dealing Physical Damage, but also can deal Holy Damage during combat.

Sword forged by servants of Miquella of the Haligtree, with a design modeled after those carried by Carian knights. Instead of glintstone however, amber from the Haligtree is embedded in the blade.
A sumptuous piece, yet it has never been offered to any knight — an ill-starred sword with no master. Skill: Sacred Blade

Miquellan Knight's Sword Location in Elden Ring

The Miquellan Knight's Sword can be found in the following location:

  • Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree: Found atop a bell tower. From the Prayer Room site of grace, walk forward into the Haligtree. Not far from the Prayer Room, you will see a Haligtree Soldier sitting down. Before the soldier is a ledge to the right you can walk out on, attached to a tower. Walk on this connector all the way to the tower. Drop down on the tower's ledge, and walk this outer rim to the opposite side. There will be a ladder that takes you up to the sword.
  • Alternatively, if you've already unlocked the Haligtree Roots site of grace, simply take the elevator in the adjacent room with the Scarlet Aeonia bloom (not the one in Malenia's boss room). After the elevator stops, get out, walk around the tower and find the ladder. It will take you up to the sword.

    • D scaling all around the board at max upgrade level, found in an endgame area when almost everything there is resistant to holy damage, non-unique ash of war that only scales with faith so it does abysmal levels of damage even tested against enemies non-resistant to holy. Its only purpose is for the lore.

This and the Carian knight’s sword should have had modified versions of stance, maybe with this getting a unique heavy (thinking a golden carian piercer getting summoned) and the carian getting a custom heavy (that summons the Carian grandeur) that way both retain the ability to tackle shields with the R1 but gain actually unique R2’s

Most beautiful straight sword in the game. If only you could put square off on it and get it a little earlier, it would be a 11/10.

          • Anonymous

I love the moveset on this sword so dang much. Its damage output is pretty legit as well. I dual wielded them at +10 and just wrecked sh*t.

At +10 w/ 80 str, 80 dex, 80 faith this bad mamma jamma gets 722 AR.
            Attack power as follows:
            Phys: 257 + 241
            Holy: 166 + 56

            • Anonymous

Your build doesn't matter, just get this and epitaph for power stancing and anything Undead just insta dies. The AOW of the epitaph is a 100% dmg boost buff on top of the holy you are already doing. If you meet the reqs, just use them when fighting skellies and whatnot.

              • Anonymous

This is a great weapon for a NG+ Prophet, who only needs 1+ Dex to wield. Either this or Golden Epitaph (1+ Str). Differences being:
-Miquellan does more physical dmg than holy compared to Golden Epitaph, for nearly identical ARs.
-Has slightly more reach than Golden Epitaph
-The Miquellan AoW's flat holy damage buff makes it more effective at low levels than the 30% buff with the GE AoW.

Nothing game-changing obviously, but that's me stanning for this "late game weapon" because I like it and secretly simp for Miquella.

People care way too much about scaling letter on weapons. It might be all D scaling but in terms of ar its comparable to other straight swords on a strength faith build or quality faith build. Its definitely not the strongest weapon in the game but if you like the unique heavy you can still find very good success with it. Personally its one of my favorite weapons in the game.

                  • Anonymous

There is no goddamn way that somebody at fromsoft thought a +10 endgame weapon should cap out at D scaling, I refuse to believe that this is real

                    • Anonymous

Makes me so sad this is a quality/faith weapon rather than just faith. The sword looks super cool and has a good move set but Lordsworn beats it out on faith and faith/int.

                      • Anonymous

If you want to torture yourself to get this at extremely low level and weapon refinement for the express purpose of then invading people with an unfair advantage, the crystal sword is available much much earlier and has almost identical base damage and requirements.

Me, one of the most faithful and resilient knights in the Lands Between when Miquella presents me with this dollar store scaling ass sword:

To the folks who aren't sure why this is a late game weapon when better weapons are available earlier, that's only true if you play at high levels. If you are trying to beat the game at low levels (let's say a lev 1 run) then it makes sense for this to be a late game weapon. This is one of the best low level weapons in the game, and the game makers knew that low level runs have always been a Souls players' staple.

should've been a much earlier weapon due to the lack of high base damage/low scaling weapons in the early game. No point of this

                              • Anonymous

You get Blasphous Blade soo much earlier, what is the point of this.

Needs a major rework to be useful considering its at endgame.

The high base damage, low scaling, and flat buff from the weapon art make this a fantastic weapon at low levels. It’s baffling and unfortunate that you can’t get it until the Haligtree.

                                  • Anonymous

Despite the scaling being D, D, D, the AR scales higher on a build specializing in faith. I believe this is because damage is split physical and holy, and faith raises the holy damage part of the split

I see alot of people saying its outclassed, but my faith dude wrecks with it. I think the real problem is its found too late in the game to make much use of it

                                    • Anonymous

With how far into an absolute trashheap area you have to go to get this, just use a Sacred Longsword + Sacred Blade. You lose negligible AR and range, but also lose a massive headache and a significant spike in cortisol levels.

                                      • Every weapon has drawbacks and scaling would be it for this. When up against those with Holy resistance, slap the Curved Blade & Axe Talisman on it and play up the sword n board melee. Then for everyone else, swap out those for Scorpion Charm and Shard of Alexander, plus the Holy physik. I’m liking it in late NG+ even for late game.

                                        • Anonymous

I use this with my Paladin as first primary. It's fantastic honestly. Both in PvE and PvP at least in my opinion with a Paladin/Faith based build.

Its fast when attacking, looks cool, its AoW is projectile and weapon buff based and does signicant damage especilly to certain enemys, you get to keep the sacred damage buff for a good while. And my favorite part is its unique R2.

It's a quick awkward side slash that opponent never seem to account for. Not to mention if you charge the R2 you will lunge forward about a roll and a half length if not 2 with the slash so it can close a good sized gap, about maybe 10-15fert. And in pvp most people are caught off guard by the distance you travel when you charge it and can surprise hit them . Solid sword.

Quite the fun low level invasion weapon at or below level 50

dual wield this with an off-hand that has sacred order and you have yourself a competant and fun and versatile combo.

                                            • Anonymous

Do you have to 2-hand it? Basically i am playing at meta level, 125 invasions. I upgraded it to +9, and PvE does a lot of damage, but i always 1 hand weapons for Frenzy/Crowd Control and a Shield just to Parry. I only have 22 STR for Blasphemous Blade (Just because i can heal for free + talisman if i need to fall back into PvE to heal, but it also 1 Shots everyone if i can land the Ash of War with it in narrow Corridors + Heal) and around 20 DEX to get a wide weapon range for switching mid PvP.
And while some say damage is not that big, tried it PvE and it does 2K per hit with the beam, not on end game enemies obviously, since they are resistant to holy and most of my damage output is split between Physical and Flame. I only have one Frostbite weapon just in case for poking. I don't use Lightning/Sacred, etc since i either use Flame Buff, and Golden Vow (Or Golden Vow + Howl of Shabriri).

                                              • Anonymous

Did anyone else notice that the Sacred Phalanx AoW and the special R2 of this sword share pretty similar movements? What if the R2 of this sword could’ve had a Sacred Phalanx like effect when fully charged? Would’ve been pretty bad ass.

                                                • Anonymous

Weird that the description mentions it's modeled after a Carian Knight's sword. They don't look all that similar. Still a neat weapon though.

                                                  • Anonymous

Really neat weapon that I think is undrecut by a variety of other Holy-themed straight swords. It's the last one you have access to, but by that point you could well have gotten the Golden Epitaph or Coded Sword. At least it's got unique attacks

                                                    • Anonymous

Made a character for pvp from stratch and used trainer to get it in 2 hours and the result? Made a superb build, very good for both pve and pvp, destroyed the damn game and many players unfortunately they gave me 180 days restriction :( in sort definitely worth for using dont be like me of course unless you want to play the game alone.

                                                      • Anonymous

This would've been a great sword to hide in early/mid game areas. Sacred blade can be found pretty early and late game areas have high holy resist enemies, so it's weird find this so far into the game.

I had good results 2 handing at 54 str with 25 fth. My damage was only a bit lower than a fire broadsword, which seems worth for the better r2. The aow is bland, but better than other uniques stuck with boring aow. No square off is a huge bummer though.

                                                        • Anonymous

the scaling on this isn't great, but consider this: the base damage on this is almost the same as the crucible knight greatsword. even with D/D/D it hits pretty damn hard

                                                          • Why would anyone use this sword if the sacred blade ash of war combined with a +25 weapon is superior? Only because Miquellan Knight's Sword looks cool I guess.

                                                            • Anonymous

It's not as useful for bosses when you get it but it shines in ng+, powerstanced with the carian knight sword it makes a very good combination. Since it's a somberstone type weapon it's easy to upgrade to try it out, and sacred blade is a good aow.

                                                              • Anonymous

why we only get this sword in the end of the game man, thats so frustrating.
all the late game bosses have huge resistance to holy damage, aim so mad

                                                                • Anonymous

Nifty, but late game bosses have 40%, 60%, and even 80% holy damage negation --- combined with abysmal scaling and low damage and you have the world's shiniest rolled up piece of newspaper to lightly whack the Thor/Baldur combo and the glowing cosmic being that puppets him.

                                                                  • Anonymous

At 35/35/35 it gets 589 AR one handed, 386 is phys, 202 in holy.
At 43/42/20 it gets 602 AR one handed, 411 is phys, 190 is holy.

Note that this is for a 150 build, here's for a 120 for you PvP fellas:
(Keep in mind that I am using 60 Vig and am on a Confessor for the starting class)
At 30/30/25 it gets 563 AR onehanded, 369 is phys, 194 is holy.
At 25/25/35 it gets 553 AR onehanded, 350 is phys, 202 is holy.
Of course you can always take some health away and instead use that for damage, but the D scaling can only take you so far.

Generally speaking, you're better off investing into str and dex more so than faith. Even though each stat is D, the holy scaling only gets to D after some upgrades meaning that it's a lower D scaling than str and dex. If you want to take better advantage of Sacred Blade, it's probably better to just use the Alexander Shard.

My take away: not a terrible SS, in all honestly. In terms of pure AR it beats some of the lesser SS's, but it's split damage can be more of a bane than a boon for most cases. The unique R2 can be paired with the Axe talisman for good lunging attacks, and it's length isn't all too bad. My only wish is that it had higher scaling across the board, because D/D/D is pretty damn bad.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Curved sword talisman. Straight swords are one of the few weapons in this game with solid guard counters in pvp. I like no skill in my shields because sacred blade got buffed and is a very powerful ranged option.

                                                                      • Anonymous

For how far in the game you have to get to, in what is the hardest area in the game, this weapon is extremely underwhelming. The unique R2 doesn't come close to making up for the triple D scaling. Throw in the fact it uses Holy damage at a point where it's mostly a detriment and you can't swap the skill or buff, and you have a weapon that's more than likely just gonna sit in your box forever.

It's a shame too, because it's a flat out gorgeous sword. I love the details on it so much.

                                                                        • Anonymous

Literally the only straight sword in the game that never gets above a D in scaling in anything. Y u do dis, From?

                                                                          • Anonymous

Its found so far in the game and it only has flat D scaling across 3 boards, while you can easily connect a charged heavy on this the stat scaling doesn't really help much. I would've hoped its at least B in faith or double C's in either strength or dex and then faith.

                                                                            • 15 seconds buff? To give you some extra holy in the late game where everything is resistant to holy anyway? And we can't even change the weapon art? Alright.

                                                                              • Anonymous

My favorite straight sword. The unique r2 is a game changer for it. Can charge and lunge forward and staggers really well. Follow up r2 same move as a follow up r1 but more power. The r1 is faster obviously. Running r2’s into r1’s combo. Great weapon two handed. Why don’t other straight swords have this special r2? Scaling is a bit weird for end games weapon but it does enough damage fully upgraded for me to be happy. I don’t need a powerhouse. I care more about movesets and fun over most power.
Basically a katana moveset in a straight sword with the best r2 you can find imo

                                                                                • Anonymous

It has higher dmg and physical attack than a Sacred Longsword in case you're wondering between infusing a regular Longsword or this weapon. But if dmg doesn't matter to you then it's a difference between rather you want the Longsword stab R2 or this weapon's delayed quick backslash R2. This weapon is better for dedicated paladins as it's specialized for faith and holy. If you started the game with a longsword on a paladin build then this sword is a natural transition.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

He gifts you an Erdsteel dagger, which was forged for the Erdtree Royalty.
A pair for this dagger is found at the Royal Capital.
He offers you the title of knight, but can't give it to you yet, for some reason.
Miquellan knight's Sword is described as a Sword without a knight, and is found at the Haligtree, which belongs to a member of the Erdtree Royalty.
A knight without a sword and a sword without a knight.
Kenneth is related to Miquella. Further hints are given via a few details, like the merchat near his fort selling St Trina's Arrows, a few St Trina and sleep related content around the region of West Limgrave, and the fact that the Knight that took over his fort wields blood magic, something related to the Formless Mother and Mogh, who, again, are related to Miquella/St. Trina. Also, the most obvious: Half of the Haligtree Medalion is found in the fort.
Perhaps if we never give Nepheli Loux the Storm King ashes, and we go as far as finding the Haligtree, get our hands in this sword and return to Kenneth, perhaps he will finally award us the tittle.
Smells like those secret covenant stuff.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                      Very underrated weapon.
Yes sacred blade is a bit slow, but it can catch a lot of people off guard with good timing especially casters(500-600damage).
For some odd reason in pvp from my experience at least, players seem to underestimate the fully charged heavy attack(600-800 damage).
It also has high chance of breaking stance(really good for PVE mobs) and shields(PVE/PVP).
Don't let the scaling fool you(it pretty much means nothing).
If you don't mind distributing your attribute points to 3 different categories(STR/DEX/FAITH) then it might be a good weapon to try out.

TLDR Miquella's sword scaling is a lie, requires precise timing to be effective and 3 different attributes invested.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Thinking of making an int/fth build with a hint of strenght and dex in it, powerstancing this and the carian knight sword, could it work?

                                                                                        • I think we can all agree that the weapon art should've been something unique. As the description tells it is the counter part of carian sword.. Well.. Why not give it basically Carian Grandeur but in golden and holy? I don't give a damn about a 15 seconds buff with projectile that takes a bit too long to cast. In a mmo 15 seconds buffs are good. In souls games they are trash and not worth the commitment and effort imo

                                                                                          • Anonymous

Why FS? First, you put a Quality Holy Infused weapon End Game that has Holy resistant Boss. Second, you have this sword scaling DDE and Low AR/105 and Third, @ +10 only improves to DDD.... Smh. At least give this weapon BBC +10, increase AR to 125. This sword only Viable with very High Level character, say Level 200 with no less than 50 in Str/Dex/Fth

                                                                                            • Anonymous

Neat weapon, but it's a shame From restricts people from putting ashes on weapons like this.
Why not let us change ashes/skills without changing affinity/element dmg, or make the weapon change it's element dmg depending on the ash used.

This is just a non-customizable longsword with a different R2 at the very end of the game. I like it's design, but I wish it was more unique.

At least make the non-customizable skills unique. Like make it's sacred blade blue, and do magic instead of holy or something.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

I’ve come back to say I still think this is the best straight sword and with the buff I’m hitting people for 5-700 damage. I’ve also realized guard counters on str8 swords are good in pvp and use a shield with scimitar talisman. Sword and board has never been stronger.

                                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

So powerful I now use it with holy shrouding tear. Landing the projectile nets me some 600 damage avg

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

Along with having an amazing R2, I firmly believe this is the best straight sword on a hybrid faith build

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

It seems to scale optimally at 45/45 STR and DEX and 20 FTH, So it's a quality weapon that dabbles in faith.

                                                                                                          • Anonymous

This is such a strange weapon. In theory it should be a bad weapon, but when upgraded the scaling is higher than DDD and it does decent damage.

                                                                                                            • Anonymous

Wish it could have more default attack power to make it a "raw infused weapon" choice for low sl runs. Currently the scaling is not low enough and the default attack power is not high enough to make it a good choice for my low sl run characters.

                                                                                                              • Anonymous

At level 130 with 43dex 50fai 25str, this thing does damage on par with all my other +9 somber weapons. I'd say it's just slightly worse than Winged Scythe, but I still really like it and it pairs awesome with a greatshield.

                                                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                                                  • Anonymous

Best straight sword for pvp. I’m only running 22 str and 18 dex, 32 fth at 125 to boot. Not even the optimal stats but I can reliably win using the amazing move set. Charged r2 will catch people off guard and uncharged will roll catch point blank. The guard counter with shield will also catch people off guard if they face hug and try to trade. The ash of war leaves much to be desired but it can catch people if you know they’re about to cast or chug. The buff from the ash is very nice tho. Won’t stand up against multiple opponents with my stats... but I imagine with 40/40 dex/str it would

                                                                                                                    • Anonymous

The AoW also adds +85 flat holy damage, which is busted for low-level PvP. Holy resistance is often disregarded and this sword will make you regret it.

The range of the lunge on its fully charge R2 cannot be understated. It comes out quick and has a lot of stagger too. It doesn't seem damaging at first glance, but with the right buffs I was able to keep it around ~800 AR for most boss fights. Not the best available for sure, but the moveset compensated for it big time for me.
