Shadow Sunflower Blossom is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Colossal Weapon in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Shadow Sunflower Blossom scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity and Faith and it can be obtained after trading the Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower.
The head of a monstrous shadow sunflower manifestation of the Scadutree. Then again, it might be just a flower, wielded as a weapon. Much like the Scadutree itself in appearance, a second stalk winds tightly around the first, almost as if in a tender embrace.

There's something truly uniquely dark fantasy about ripping off your opponent's head after a fight and using it as a weapon going forward. FromSoft understands us souls players on a spiritual level.

This weapon is so fun. The heavy attack build is better than the weapon skill. But the ridiculousness of the skill is the main hook here. You can keep the enemies being stunlocked or pancake for a long time with it. But make sure you have stamina to do the follow up.

This is what happens when From Software and PopCap had a collab.
Looking forward to see Peashooter Cannon, Cactus Ballista, Maneater Maw and Roar on the next DLC named Nightreign!

Since they nerfed my faith girls holy bat (envoy long horn) i was at a loss until i got this thing. Heavier but waay stronger. Fun to smash enemies with it. FAITH SMASH!

What you got after planting 1000 large club bonk in colosseum, it bloom into beautiful flower.
Could have been a cute Vegan sunflower staff for cute healer builds and instead it's a giant unga bunga weapon.
FromSoft truly hates healers VwV

All the zombies will be afraid about this Sunflower.
And the skeletons.
And the Death Birds.
And the Ancestor's Spirits.
Everything that are undeads will be afraid about this Sunflower.

Does this sunflower produce sun powers, so I make a huge plants army to fight against zombies???
- Anonymous
I equip this to always have a reliable friend around. Both mentally and physically. Sunflower Bro/Sis never lets me down.

aight, the dude earlier who said this thing is good on a minimum str, faith focus wasn't lying I just took this thing into the arena and showed some lionel hat tryhards the meaning of flower power. I would definitely use this again.
The ash is pretty insane too just throw out some single press ashes and then hit them with the full thing when you think they'll walk into it and like 65% of their health is gone, and if you hit the full thing that's like 80%
Make sure you have a good chase down though because someone healed against me... yeah, against a colossal... it's ok though cause I punished them, roll caught them, then switched to the black steel twinblade while they were panic rolling and finished em off.
- Anonymous
At minimum str and 80 faith this thing has a whopping 886 ar, just crazy. Second is gargoyle's blackblade at 754 ar so you can tell how much of a difference it is for pure fth builds. Yes it is holy damage but you'd be surprised how versatile holy damage is for basic enemies. For bosses just spam black flame like me lol

One, two, three
There is a zombie in your lawn~
There is a zombie in your lawn~
There is a zombie in your lawn~
And we don't want zombies in your lawn~
I know your type: tall, dark and undead
You will bite all the petals of my head
And will eat the brains of who have planted me here (noooooo)
To prevent this, I make sun power come real
And use it to build an entire army
And prevent you to come, cause we don't want zombies~

The only Sunflower I know that is an Attacker. I usually saw them as just Sun Power producers, or low DPS healers.
But here in Elden Ring, a Sunflower is indeed a heavy hitter.
I guess all the zombies will not even try to eat my brain if I keep her in house.

It's lame, I miss dark souls game design...children are gonna grow up thinking a flower is a cool weapon. Even fromsoft can't escape the inevitable reality of idiocracy.

My favorite weapon in the DLC and possibly the whole game, it's so much fun to use it on my STR/FAI character. Not only does it wreck everything it touches (beaten Promised Consort with it twice already) but it's also just so entertaining and strange to whip around. The AoW absolutely melts anything it touches too, and looks incredibly cool to boot. Sunflower friend forever
- Anonymous
Do you understand how freaking metal it is to use the head of your enemy as a hammer to kill your enemies?

This weapon got me through my first dlc playthrough. I was hardstuck at the npc gank fight because I managed to mess up the questlines so badly on accident, I got all 5 npcs possible to fight. And I also missed Thiollier's quest, so Ansbach and my summon were the only help I was getting. It was such an awful experience getting rotted by Moore while being ganged up on by 3 other npcs at once, I almost quit. But then, i found this. This absolute godsend managed to carry me through that fight after 3 attempts. Aow was risky to use, but if I got it off, it did so much damage. I'm using other weapons now, but this weapon will always be top 10 for me just because it saved me from that migraine enducing experience. Also, funni sunflower haha. 10/10 weapon.
- Anonymous
...I like this thing. It's fun. It's satisfying. It kills almost anything surprisingly easy.
Would I have preferred the face of the sunflower as a shield? Yes.
Could it have been very cool to have it reflect spells, or maybe fire off a burst of scary tree energy? Yeah.
Is it nice how it is?
Yeah. It is.

Like all collosals, it loses trades to smaller weapons L2, which are faster and have the same hyper armor. You can technically win a trade but no, you usually get hit two or three times if you trade into a smaller weapon. The L2 loses trades against other collosals, which makes it even more redundant. And in pve, why use holy damage? Sacred blade will do more damage and is faster and has range and is spammier with less risk.

Why is a giant rotting sunflower one of the hardest hitting weapons in this DLC?

Very underrated imo, probably because of its looks. As a faith weapon you will easily have access to golden vow, and with it mainly dealing holy damage the buff you want along with it is Light from Sword of Light, which is a lot more convenient than Fire Grant Me Strength due to having twice the duration. It's also a colossal with the fast heavy attack, so it's very easy to get huge stance damage on every opening. I find it much easier to scale damage on this thing than on most other stuff. Golden Vow and Light last very long, the charge attack & holy tear have 3 minute duration and no drawback, and you can handily slap Axe, Two-Handed and Holy Scorpion talismans. Basically you can capitalize on every single buff slot with minimal effort compared to other builds imo.
That said I find myself sometimes replacing Scorpion Charm with a damage negation talisman which lets you just poise through one or two boss attacks. With smart use of throwing/fan daggers to keep stance down, you can pretty much just stagger a boss after dodging only two to three combos, and even with underleveled Scadutree blessings that has been enough to get most of them to at the very least 50% health. I've been having better result with this than with the Bloodfiend Arm.

How do you feel about getting beaten by a colossal flower?
- Anonymous
This might be one of my favorite weapons in the whole game.
- Anonymous
I was hesitant bc it deals holy damage, but my god do I unironically adore this weapon, it's very silly and pretty
- Anonymous
Blocks up massive amount of my screen when not attacking. Therefore, always be bonking

aow is just charged r2 in disguise. spamming charged r2 > aow+2followup for dmg and for stance breaking as well

Might be my favorite weapon in the DLC for the sheer joy I felt when I beat Radahn to death with a Sunflower.
- Anonymous
I know most of you know this but to talk back at the guy below me: 24 / 1.5 = 16. Relatively modest 2h requirement for a colossal. So go ahead friends. Level faith. Farm staff of the guilty, throw impenetrable thorns and if it doesn’t die, whack it with a flower! Good day fellow tarnished!
The irony is all the hippies that want to wield this won't have the strength requirement because they only level magic

From software giving the best stats to the ugliest weapons since forever
- Anonymous
Le Sigh.... why doesn't it have bleed? (Not that it needs it - but that was the boss shtick - kinda made sense?)
- Anonymous
This could've been something cool being a lightweight colossal weapon since the AR isn't really that great and it's just a dead flower. Would be interesting if they made it like 6 weight but at least the WA is pretty good
- Anonymous
This thing smacks. I saved up a lot of larval tears before dlc so I could try out all sorts of different builds as I went. And this is the one. I went with claw talisman, 2h talisman, shard of Alexander, and axe talisman, along with the gravebird chest that boosts jump attacks. Hitting like 5k with just an r2. Probably will finish out the dlc rocking this on a str/fai build

The first heavy, even when charged, is stupidly fast considering the weapon class. Combining the first hit of AoW with a charged heavy is a very fast stance breaking combo. This weapon is (pun intended) bonkers.
- Anonymous
camera zooms out when you use this skill, but not when you fight a large enemy. wtf is fromsoft doing
- Anonymous
I started using this as a joke and now I've just beaten the final boss of the dlc with a massive sunflower.
- Anonymous
This thing destroys everything. I could not make it work the way I wanted in the last fight, but the WA totally rocks.
- Anonymous
Shares the same moveset as the Greatclub but with a significantly better ash of war.
Bonk enjoyers, get in here now!!

Ah finally a flower weapon I've always wanted to use mother nature as a weapon and now I can thanks Miyazaki, 11/10 weapon.
This kills anyone foolish enough to trade with WA, just like Maliketh's blade. They are actually very comparable. This has cheaper WA but is a worse weapon class. Still, very powerful Str/Fth weapon
Reading this item's description got me thinking about some lore things. If Miquella always intended to be abducted by Mohg so that he could reach the Land of Shadow and become a god, what was the point of embedding himself in the Haligtree to begin with? When we look at the Scadutree we see two stalks, with one coiled around the other in "tender embrace" as the item description says. Tender is a term we see associated with Miquella from some character dialogue, and embrace is another term we see associated with him in the Light of Miquella spell. So, I was thinking that perhaps the second stalk that embraces the first is a manifestation of the Haligtree in the Land of Shadow, and perhaps that was the point of the Haligtree all along. The Haligtree and the second stalk are even somewhat similar in shape. Even if that's all true, I'm not really sure what this would've accomplished. Regardless, it's just a theory I've come up with to answer the question of what the purpose of the Haligtree was to begin with.

Surprisingly good, for a gimmick weapon! Weapon art has a lot of hyper armor, and the drip is solid.

Used this to kill the Death Knights as the Ash of War just stunlock the guy lol hilarious to smack them with a sunflower

I started using it because it was silly, but why is this actually a good weapon

This weapon is so disappointing, like most Remembrance weapons to be honest.

I don't even care how strong it might be, I'm just delighted by the idea of slapping bosses with a giant sunflower

Good lord, this thing gonna get nerfed REAL QUICK!
Actually Infinite hyper armor, very fast L2 spam, incredibly high stance break, OP DPS, it’s just a giant a sunflower… oh mother.

Dragonslayer Greataxe 2.0. The weapon art damage is kinda nuts.

Charged two handed r2 is an overhead slam vs a horizontal attack.
Now I get to powerstance Staff of the Avatar with Staff of the Scadutree Avatar! And they look so cool and unique together. One of the coolest and most interesting new DLC weapons. Both have the earthy/nature motif, but in distinct ways that complement eachother so well visually.
So glad I just happened to decide to do another STR/FAI run right before the DLC came out, as us STR/FAI (and even pure Faith) bros are eating so good in the DLC, between enemy Holy weaknesses and weapon/incant variety.
Oh, and you know how Staff of the Avatar had the single highest AR in the base game? Well with my current 50/50 STR/FAI split, this badass dried plant has an even higher AR!

My god, this thing hits hard. AoW has armor and can hit multiple times. Unexpectedly good weapon

This weapon and the Barbed Staff-Spear are a blessing for Faith caster builds that want a new melee weapon to play with with a good moveset and AoW without them hitting like a wet noodle due to them both primarily scaling with Faith rather than Strength or Dexterity like 75% of the 'Faith' weapons in this DLC.
This weapons stat requirements are just low enough that if you're fine with running 50 Vigor instead of 60 you can just about squeeze by running this weapon at lvl 150 with 24 STR / 80 FTH to keep at the Faith cap while having enough Endurance to hit 51 Poise and 24-27 Mind depending on your armor setup to have enough FP for casting a few Incantations.
Even at 24 STR this thing is hitting like a truck with 80 Faith helping to balance it out a lot and the stagger/poise damage keeping you decently safe from hits from some of the stronger mobs of this DLC. Amazing DLC weapon but unsure if it'll translate to a good base game weapon due to that Holy damage

Instantly strong, the damage this thing is capable of doing is unbelievable
- Anonymous
beat the final boss with this weapon. you can get alot of r2s of its peak
- Anonymous
What’s makes this fun to use in pvp is that its ash of war is free 80% of the time.
If you whif the ash of war, the enemy needs to let you recover. If they decided to punish u with something like a heavy jump attack from UGS, you will tank that with ur hyper armor and use ur follow up that slams them an addition 2 more time. If they are the type of player who is greedy, just do ur last slam.
Only time I get punished for this playstyle was against mages really but you shouldn’t be using a colossal against a mage in the first place. Same with other players who spam ranged ashes of war
- Anonymous
Would love this to have an additional hit of oil much like bloodfiends arm blood splash on R2

I know your type, tall, dark, and dead
You want to bite all the petals off of my head

Actually a pretty solid colossal weapon, nice change of pace that its highest scaling is Faith instead of Str, good range and basically a quadruple prayerful strike move as an ash of war. The boss was sick too.
Beautiful weapon. The little orange dots look tasty
