Anvil Hammer is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Colossal Weapon in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Anvil Hammer scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith and is a good Weapon for __goodfor__.
One of the treasures of the ruined forges. A tremendous hammer that incorporates as its head the red-hot anvil of the forge. It is said that the anvil's shape is inspired by that of an altar, and that long ago, it was indeed used as such in rite and ritual.
Where to Find Anvil Hammer in Elden Ring
The Anvil Hammer weapon can be found at the following location:
- Ruined Forge Lava Intake. Use the column you have lowered with the lever as a bridge and climb it until the end. Beware of the fire blob, and then at the top, turn right and jump to reach the stairs. Climb them up and interact with a furnace to obtain this weapon and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. 80% damage reduction, you will never need shield with this thing, just hold block between rolls. Crazy. Assuming you will even need to roll with how it one-two shots everything.

I know split damage can be a problem and the scaling is funny but I love this thing, I haven't dropped it since I found it. At +10 and Level 155 I can one shot a shockingly large amount of enemies and stagger almost anyone in two or three hits. The weapon art is a fantastic problem solver if you get surrounded, the AI and unfamiliar hosts will usually run into it again before the damage ends. With 25 endurance I can stun-lock most enemies with a three hit light attack combo and have plenty of stamina to follow up with the weapon art, a charged heavy, or a visceral in the very likely scenario they're poise broken and still be able to roll away.

Weapon might be bugged. Tested it's L2 against the Omenkiller just outside "Behind Fort of Reprimand" site of grace and a single L2 from an unupgraded (+0) Anvil Hammer was enough to break the Omenkiller's posture and open him for a crit. After seeing this, I upgraded it to +25, tested it again, and despite the massive damage, it doesn't break the posture of the Omenkiller, not even after a L2+R1.
Not sure if there's something missing here, but it had me disappointed.

This hammer is insanelly fun with the Deflecting Hardtear psysick mix, it hits like a truck and it's guard is also pretty strong, with the mix (deflecting hardtear and the stagger one) + greatshield talisman and two handed talisman you can block almost everything and guard counter for huge damage and instance breaking with this huge piece of iron. If anyone has any suggestions on this to make it even better i am all ears because i'm having a blast.

I'm using It at level 156 with a quality build (50str, 50dex) and i'm doing like 1200 with a light attack with ONLY flame Grant me strenght and no buffing
Talisman Is Amazing the charge Attack that staggers the furnace golem in 3 hits and the Weapon art doing like 25 hundred damage Is Amazing and for how early you can get, 10/10

This weapon is everything I ever wanted. Paired with the two-handed talisman makes the damage downright disgusting.

this is the biggest damage pr normal hit however that is asuming you have the scaling maxed out and the weapon fully maxed out if you start with the wrecht class the amount of runes it would take for this to hit it's max potential it woul cost you 134713552 asuming you never level any other stats than what it scales with in adtion to this if you purchase the smithing stone it would cost you 97000 runes and upgrading your weapon would cost you 409000 so using this at it's max potential would cost you 135219552
This is the hardest-hitting weapon in the game due to its 4-stat-scaling. It deals 1270 damage at max character (713) and weapon (10) level, while it also weighs significantly less than the Giant-Crusher which "only" reaches 1089 damage with Occult affinity. It can also be more easily incorporated into different builds due to it not relying on a single stat, and it generally requires fewer points invested to be able to effectively wield/use (40 instead of the Giant-Crusher's 50, based on the starting stats of the Wretch class).
The potential downside is that the Anvil Hammer does split damage (fire and physical), while it also requires more points invested to outclass the Giant-Crusher in terms of raw damage. This means it will only really start to shine past level 200, so it's not really ideal for level 150 PVP matches. Its affinity and Ash of War also can't be changed, which also means no way to apply buffs like Royal Knight's resolve. So the the Giant-Crusher is more flexible and can be buffed to reach even higher numbers.
It is also worth noting that despite the game saying B for STR scaling and D for FTH scaling at weapon level 10, Faith actually scales almost as well as Strength even past 60.

I did some testing on black blade kindred with the weapon art (hes tall enough that i was able to test the spikes separately from the hammer hit) and all hits of the weapon art were scaling with both STR and FAITH. (i didn't test dex or int)

Hello,
I did some testing with the weapon art on black blade kindred outside of the bestial sanctum. He was great for this, because he was tall enough that using the weapon art inbetween his legs would cause the hammer portion to miss, meaning I could test the spears portion and hammer portion separately.
All tests were done with a +7 anvil hammer.
TLDR; the weapon art scales on both str and faith (i didn't test dex or int) for all 3 hits.
45 str 14 dex 25 faith 12 int
spears only, 1hand
1st hit 524
2nd hit 117
spears only, 2hand

this Faith scaling has to be much higher than stated in game. At +10 it's supposed to have D, but one point into Faith gives me 4 AR.

After almost 200 hours, I can safely say this:
This is my new favorite Weapon. God I was so happy when I founs it.

For some reason, even though the game says B scaling for STR and D for FTH (at+10), even after 60 points invested in both, FTH gives just as many points, it not more than STR. It's possibly a bug.
- Anonymous
Don't mistake this for a strength weapon. Both the phys and fire dmg scale with faith. After 64 faith, you're better off leveling strength.

Gyrm Great Hammer BIG Version (with extra spice) Limited Edition!

At +10 it does 320 physical damage, 208 fire damage.
Scales B tier with strength, E with dex, E with int, and D with Faith.
On my build this somehow gives it + 580 damage for a whopping 1109 AR unbuffed.
I have 80 dex and Faith and 36 strength & 11 int.
These numbers are ****ing insane

Two of three weapons description of dlc weapons menrion some ritual. Maybe its Messmers dragon communion ?
This weapon gets a double healing effect when using assassin's crimson dagger. Like early Elden ring it'll give you health each time you hit. Doing wonders for a heavy guard parry crit build
