Black Steel Twinblade is a Twinblade in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Twinblade in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Black Steel Twinblade scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity and is a good Weapon for builds that want to maintain Faith Scaling despite changing its infusion. This weapon does Physical and Holy damage and comes with the Spinning Slash skill.

 

Weapon of the Black Knights, servants of Messmer the Impaler. Twinblade of black steel with decorative embellishments in gold. Blessed with an Erdtree incantation. Further holy imbuement will amplify the effect and greatly increase the armament's power.

          Ng+ Morgot - 33k hp - fight time 15 seconds, estimated dps 2200, burst dps unimaginable, Bleed Setup choose whatever tho, you could kill the Eldin beast Ng+100 x maxwhatever, I assure you if it can be swung at, it will instantly vaporize Build for Sussive Attacks and Bleed - Frost or Bleed/Frost, it will all proc everything will die. Be warned this breaks PVE, it will make incantations like whirlyhollyfrisbe of death seem underpowered and fair...

            Rotten Sword +Milis mit + Thorny + Lord of Blood + Golden Vow + Flame = 1400 - 1500 Ap and 280ish Bleed with an outragous attack speed, jump attacks hit 4 times, Also can use Cold and Fires Deadly sin for a potentially even more powerful banger. Tie in the Knight Armor and a weightless Sigel and at 65 endurance you can maintain a light equip, dual weld, and cast incantations or spells. Fast, fun, hits like a dump truck.

              I’m happy they made infusable faith weapons, there is now a viable fth/arc melee sidearm with a choice of having also str or dex scaling if needed

                This insta bleeds with 1 running r2 even if you dodge through it. It'll also stagger you and the twinblade user will get a free hit on you. Hope it gets nerfed. Actually stupid

                  This and the Black Flame Tornado ash of war makes this weapon busted against enemies that don’t have a huge amount of poise. Down side is you have to get it off. I’ve gotten quite a few invaders caught off guard as well.

                        Statblock on this page seems dubious. In particular, missing holy attack power, increased holy guard, faith scaling. Phys attack power seems too high: most/all weapons that deal intrinsic magic/fire/lightning/holy damage have decreased physical attack power to compensate. For example, compare basic Twinblade with base attack power of 119 and Eleonora's Poleblade with 72 Phys + 72 Fire. If this had holy damage on top of 121 base phys attack power it would be straight busted.

                          Black steel twin blade has a D in faith scaling, a D in dex scaling and has 33 base holy damage and 112 base physical

                            Flame skewer and flame spear have some downright sinful synergy with this weapon. If you decide to bring it into PvP it’s downright hilarious how many people you can catch with the running attack into skewer. Just mind the parrybros.

                              i didn't read properly where to get it, and i farmed the guy with the twinblade shortly south of the entrance to the shadow keep for a solid 2 hours, thinking this was simply the worst luck i've ever had. at least i leveled up a few times!!!!!!!!!

                                      For those of you who are running Rellana's twin blades and need a good alternative that isn't the sword of night and flame, I do highly recommend putting a frost AOW on this weapon like hoarfrost stomp or a Frost version of Loretta's slash etc. The damage is good and allows you to proc frost which can be reprocced by using a Powerstanced Rellana blade or R2 weapon art. It also looks REALLY good with Oathsworn/Leda's knight sets.

                                        The damage this can reach with flame art infusion is astronomical. Don't get fooled by triple split damage: even if you don't count holy damage, the AR is almost as high as flame art infused Godskin Peeler. Plus fire damage can benefit from more buffs than holy: Flame, Grant Me Strength and Oil-Soaked Crystal Tear are amazing and don't have holy alternatives

                                          playing ng+. wielding 2 of these, one in main hand with sacred order & one in offhand with shared order. claw talisman / millicent's prosthesis / rotten winged sword talisman / two-headed turtle talisman. gravebird's blackquill armor and whatever else. jumping L1 is shredding some extremely frustrating bosses in 4-5 attacks. gravebird and ghostflame dragons just evaporate. it's just nuts. even with stance break talisman putrescent knight and gaius die before i can break them.

                                          i imagine flame art would have similar results. my build is not even optimal since i am 53 str/10 dex/80 fth.

                                            Sacred + Sacred Blade makes it great as a main weapon, even as a secondary weapon since it doesn't weigh that much.

                                            With 80 Fai, 22 Str and 18 Dex I can reach 696AR (786AR buffed) which is higher than the Gargoyle, and amazing when combined with it's general Twinblade lightning fast moveset, and it's specially agressive running attack to dispatch enemies quickly.

                                              Probably not the best, but I infused with bleed, got a B dex scaling with 130-135 bleed per hit, bit of holy and physical damage on top too, fun weapon

                                                After some testing, I have some new info about this weapon damage. From what I tested, using it as flame art faith weapon actually nets you highest possible AR, same as blacksteel greathammer, for 2 reasons:
                                                1. For some reason, flame art has better scaling than sacred (87 vs 75) so you simply get much more AR from the weapon
                                                2. Even though you split damage in 3 types, scadutree blessings boost the damage by so much, that even those small split damages get high enough to easily overcome enemy defenses. The difference on twinblade is not that great as on greathammer, but it still applies.

                                                So to actually maximize damage of this weapon, you should go flame art, flame strike ash of war (or skewer/spear), fire scorpion charm, two handed talisman, rotten wing sword insignia, fire physick, and thorny cracked physick (more damage on consecutive hits), giving you legit insane AR and that running R2 absolutely demolishing bosses.

                                                    Awesome weapon. Buffed by sacred blade and with small help of scorpion charm and sacred physick (and rotten wing sword insignia with two handed talisman) you routinely reach over 3k per running R2. Can be further improved by leda armor and running attack talisman. Actually fastest clear speed on overland, reasonable histun on running R2 aswell, allows you to freely follow up by R1s to finnish any normal and elite enemy.

                                                      I run this on a strength/faith build and it is a blender. I have 70str/70fth with orders blade and golden vow it hits like a truck at 1800 being as high as 2046. I have the Crucible Wings as an AOW and it is fun. Sidenote that Crucible Wings doesn't work well on bosses so I am looking for something else at the moment for AOE. The weapon is amazing

                                                        Anyone got a specific build for this weapon? I kinda like it, but I always made builds with weapons that have fixed stats/ash of war (weapons that you upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones).
                                                        That is, should I scale it with Holy? Keep it Standard? Go for Strength and wield it two-handed? And does the standard Ash of War works or should I try something else?

                                                            Not the obvious choice, but I'm being very succesful so far in pvp with this fire infused with the flaming strike buff (the aow double attack does mad damage too). Add fire scorpion charm, fire tear and Fire Grant me Strength and the 3 hit running R2 can one shot some builds (plus the weapon looks awesome when it's on fire). I think it falls very slightly behind the twinned knight sword in terms of damage, but the better moveset more than makes up for it (the running R2 will be your go-to if you have room for only one attack on bosses).

                                                              Is this any good with the lightning affinity? It shows dex scaling going down after infusing and for all other twinblades dex scaling goes up since lightning scales with dex. So does that mean this is the worst of all the twinblades to infuse with anything other than sacred?

                                                              Was thinking of using this strictly as an undead killer so I don’t have to use any sacred buffs for my mage to keep skelebois from respawning.

                                                                Despite the description saying holy damage is the best infusion for this, go for flame art if you're looking for pure numbers. At 60 faith, you can launch this thing up to 700 ish damage

                                                                      Had high hopes for this one. It looks really cool. I just tried it out versus a bunch of different mobs, and even with drawstring golden grease (+135 holy dmg) it barely beat out the Twinned Knight Swords with the same buff. Wasn't able to find anything above a 6% damage difference in favor of the buffed Black Steel Twinblade, and in some cases it was worse. I didn't even try it against anything I figured to have very high holy resist. So ultimately, I find the Twinned Knight Swords' better damage for unbuffed attacks and superior flexibility to exploit enemy weaknesses/resists to outweigh that small, occasional damage advantage you'd see with the Black Steel Twinblade.

                                                                      For reference, I'm using two-handed Heavy infusion at 54 Strength & 25 Faith. Although this weapon has higher innate Dex scaling when uninfused, it seemed to get much better AR with Heavy than it did with Keen and an equal Dex investment. But maybe there's another approach I'm overlooking that makes this worth taking for a reason other than the impeccable fashion. Though the low physical base dmg makes me think Sacred will not fare much better (because iirc the added elemental damage is based on the physical damage component).

                                                                        Looks really good. Hits really hard on DEX/FTH build with Sacred infusion + Sacred Blade AoW. Too bad the Sacred Blade AoW ruins the way it looks completely. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything.

                                                                          So the weapon comes with innate holy damage, IT DOES NOT BOOST HOLY DAMAGE, it stacks with holy infusion, no matter what infusion it will always deal extra holy damage, once you figure out the scaling it slaps everything in the face

                                                                                    Where to find: guaranteed drop from 2nd Black Knight wielding it past the Wickerman. After Wickerman (fire giant) there will be one such knight, then to the left there will me small hill where another camp is, and second knight is there - he will drop this.

                                                                                    Requirements: 18 Str + 15 Dex + 13 Fth.
                                                                                    Scaling: At max level is D/C/D.

                                                                                    Unfortunately, Strength users are gonna be stuck with Gargoyle's Twinblades if they want such weapon type, while this one goes to Dex user. It also has split Phys/Holy damage, so here's that too....
