Queelign's Greatsword is a Heavy Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Heavy Thrusting Sword in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Queelign's Greatsword scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity and Faith and is the Weapon wielded by Fire Knight Queelign.

Greatsword of the Fire Knight Queelign. A weighty piercing sword with a blade that undulates like fire. Queelign devoted his all to the crusade, and remade his greatsword in the shape of the lance wielded by his liege—aspiring to become a second Impaler.

Weapon Skill: Impaling Thrust
This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War
Can be buffed by Magic or Consumables
Queelign's Greatsword can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones.
At 14 Strength, 18 Dexterity and 80 Faith under Flame Art infusion, Queelign's Greatsword has 729 AR while one-handing and 731 AR while two-handing, and when buffed with Flame Spear weapon skill, it has 824 AR while one-handing and 826 AR while two-handing.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed of Heavy Thrusting Swords crouching attacks has been reduced. Also the stagger caused by double-handed Heavy Thrusting Swords jumping attacks has been reduced. And finally, Poise damage has also been reduced, but only for PVP.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of heavy thrusting swords were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below.

  the is one of the coolest looking weapons in the DLC. all the fire knight/messmer stuff in general is just so satisfying. it also helped me defeat promised consort radahn when i put the blood affinity on it and bravely hid behind the fingerprint shield.

  If a greatsword and a spear had a child, it would make a heavy thrusting sword. That's exactly what queelign did. Modeled his greatsword to be like messmer's spear, but not quite. An "off brand' weapon if you will.

  I just like using it as an alternative to Messmer's spear in cosplay builds. Messmer's spear is good only in the hands of the boss, the player barely moves this log and it looks so ridiculous. The same weapon in a one-handed grip has an elegant, fast and stylish muvset, and its similarity to a spear only makes it more interesting.
  The only thing I would like to see is a wider two-handed grip, but this is a minor disadvantage.

  This and Messmer Soldier's Spear are effectively the same thing with Flame Art at 80 faith 46 str and most of the same ashes of war. The playstyles are also extremely similar. Even the scaling with a Faith/STR Flame Art build is the same. The only deciding factor FOR ME would be what you want to put in your offhand. If it's a seal or staff, doesn't matter. If it's a shield, doesn't matter. If it's another weapon for some juicy power stancing, it matters.

  Stitcher just got powercrept, rip. Using fire affinity and 80STR this HTS reaches 740AR(+85/95 with fire ash buffs) while two-handed. You lose out on most of the counter damage but low fire defense mostly makes up for it, definitely an acceptable tradeoff for the insane reach this has over all the other infusable heavy thrusting swords.

  Just keep it standard with frost based ashes of war if you wanna apply the status and reset it without having to swap things around; works best with Hoarfrost Stomp. Chilling mist applies passive frost onto the weapon so you wont be able to reset the status until you cycle the weapon out to remove the weapon buff.

  Unmentioned, but it seems to be similar to the Fire Knight's Shortsword and Fire Knight's Greatsword in that fire affinities are further enhanced.
  
  Which makes sense, since this is wielded by Queelign, a Fire Knight, and could be more generically called 'Fire Knight's Heavy Thrusting Sword'.

  Despite clearly being a spear, this is called a greatsword and is put into the heavy thrusting sword category. Now all it needs is a katana sheath and to consume arrows every time you swing it and you'll have the most confusing weapon in the game.

  At first the vines that wrap around the handle drove me crazy, since it looks like they clip into your gauntlets. With the fire knight's gauntlets though it sort of looks like it's "attached" to the gauntlet itself. Which would fall in line with the loyalty of Queelign to Marika and the crusade. Pretty cool imo. Way cooler than that dudes bowl cut.

  This weapon is excellent, and its use case is very similar to the Fire Knights Greatsword. It shares the inherent fire scaling which scales with Flame Art. Both weapons can be used to utilize Flame Skewer or Flame Spear, the buff giving them a very strong fire AR when infused, while still having high base damage in Physical.
  
  This one does less damage per swing, but it comes out a lot faster, the Heavy Thrusting Sword moveset is very strong.
  
  Very happy with the Black Steel and Fire Knight weapons with this DLC as a Faith user.

  if you were looking for an actual greatsword, go farm the fire knight near where you do Leda/Hornsent fight (or any of the fire knights wielding the greatsword) it has the same moveset as godslayer greatsword, can be infused with ashes of war (flame spear is particularly good since it applies fire damage on the weapon for 40 seconds), has passive fire damage even when infused with another element, increases in power when further infused with fire of all types and has an A scaling in strength when infused with heavy... to go with it, the fire knight captain you kill right before Messmer drops a helm that increase all fire knight skill damage by 10%.
  
  just give him the grace iris and get the summon, sword not worth.

While Flame Skewer is also a good art, Flame Spear's range catches plenty of opponents off guard, especially if you deign to throw it out uncharged, and it's long range Heavy Thrusting blade poke is especially good when you can pair it with the speed at which you can throw out your attacks. I also heavily suggest for Arcane builds using this with Blood Tax for some interesting effects.

  So, I've been testing this thang because I'm a dex/faith build and wanted something heavy as second option, because I've been using dual wielding milady mainhand and rellana off hand for the fast option (really good btw, with dex/faith build), some thoughts:
  
  At first I followed some comment here about chilling mist + cold infusion and while that's ok, the innate fire doesn't cancel the frost to infinitely proc it and kinda hurts the damage.
  
  So, replaced it with a keen infusion with the ash of war designed for it (flame skewer) and booooi that was so much better, the extra damage from the sword being on fire thanks to using the AoW is great, and keeping faith and dex about the same (55 each) works nicely. Totally would recommend.

  Feel like this is nearly on-par with Messmer's Spear himself, ironically considering Queelign aspired to be a second Impaler.
  
  What it lacks in the R2 Throwing and extremely strong Ash of War compared to the Spear of the Impaler, it makes up for its vast versatility.
  
  Unsurprisingly it works really, really well with its "designed for" Ash of War used by Queelign himself: The Flame Skewer Ash of War that both buffs the "Greatsword" and does a massive impaling thrust attack, also capable of another Flame Throw (almost identical to the upwards Flame Throw done by Messmer, too!) afterwards for big damage.
  
  And even with a pure dex/faith build with minimalistic points into Arcane, it does its job more than enough versus the final boss of the DLC incase you want to go for hemorrhage.
  
  Definitely one of the more fantastic weapons in the entire Game, and not to mention it looks the most unique among them aswell.

  If you cold infuse it, somehow fire dmg in it doesn't off procs freeze, might be bugged or intended

  This weapon is actually kind of goated with Chilling mist and cold infusion, can proc frost in 2 hits and stagger many enemies in 2 hits as well.

  With cold infusion the innate fire damage should reset frostbite buildup once it procs. Hopefully the repeated frostbite procs should make up for loss of debuff. Seems like that's the intended use, since the other statuses don't have as much buildup.
  
  I've yet to test it, so downvote me if I'm wrong.

  Haven't pulled up hitboxes or anything, but visually this appears to be the longest heavy thrusting sword, outranging the Sword Lance by a very significant margin. Effectively, this is the Twinned Knight Swords vs. Gargoyle Twinblade 2.0: One has strong infusion affinity for sheer DPR, the other has range.
  
  Of course, there's much higher opportunity cost picking the Queelign sword, since you need NG+ for the other reward, compared to just duping Gaius' remembrance. Still, the Queelign spirit ash is so mid I'd consider this the better option.
