Meteorite Staff is a Glintstone Staff in Elden Ring. The Meteorite Staff scales primarily with Intelligence and is a good Weapon for early game as it provides S scaling with only 18 Int requirement. It also boosts gravity-type Sorceries.
Staff embedded with a dark purple glintstone, said to be the fragment of a meteorite. Boasts high sorcery scaling and boosts gravity sorceries as well.
However, this staff cannot be strengthened in any way.
Where to Find Meteorite Staff in Elden Ring
The Meteorite Staff weapon can be found at the following location:
- Aeonia Swamp in Caelid: In the southwestern building of the Street of Sages Ruins. The staff is on a corpse hanging from a ledge in a small room with poison flowers and a rune. It's not in the room under the staircase.

Elden Ring Meteorite Staff Notes & Tips
- Weapon Skill: No Skill
- This weapon cannot be infused with Spinning Weapon.
- Can't be buffed by Magic or Consumables
- Meteorite Staff cannot be upgraded.
- Boosts the power of Gravity sorceries by 30%
- Gravity sorceries include Rock Sling, Collapsing Stars, Gravity Well, Meteorite, Meteorite of Astel, Gravitational Missile, and Blades of Stone.
- The staff can be wielded off-hand for the passive buff while using other staffs with better sorcery scaling on the main hand for casting.
- The Meteorite Staff is arguably the best choice for early-game sorcerers. With its excellent scaling, the staff boosts INT-based builds and magic damage in general by a lot without needing any upgrade investment. However, since it is not upgradeable, it gets outperformed in the mid-game by upgradable staffs like the Demi-Human Queen's Staff, and should be replaced by a staff that's been upgraded to +15 or better.
- 138 Sorcery Scaling at 18 Int, 193 at 40 and 265 at 75
- Sell Value: 200

Meteorite Staff Upgrades in Elden Ring
The Meteorite Staff cannot be upgraded.
Sorcery Scaling is based on Int stat. The Int of the character with the staff equipped at the time of posting the Sor Scaling is located in the (Int) to the right of the scaling amount. This will help to give a general idea of what staves are better at various Int levels until MAX is achieved.

this is my fav staff in the game, was my go to staff on my original play though it was a beast early game with rock sling, yes it does lose out the better staffs the higher your int, however its not useless. in the end game it becomes a great staff to pair with your stronger option just because that 30% on gravity magic slaps so hard, plus the new dlc spells are amazing and i would recomend a gravity build to anyone that hasnt tried it.

I really don't understand why they chose the gravity staff to be the unupgradable staff leaving one of the best schools of magic without a proper staff. Instead, the staff's niche is a early game op staff. Then again, Carian regal scepter always ends up the best staff for an int build at 70 int. Most people probably duel wield staffs anyways...
- Anonymous
Man if this could be upgraded I'd main it. Gravity sorceries are so freakin cool
- Anonymous
Yo everyone, does staves work as seals? I mean, is it better if I use 2 meteoric staves than 1 other (let´s say, carian regal) and the meteoric in offhand? Or if I use two regal for the full moon sorceries for example? Just starting ng+ mage mode

This Staff has the exact same Numbers (one point difference) than the Academy Glintstone Staff + 14. You can generally Ignore the Demi-Human Staff when playing a Sorcery build by the time you got +15 you should have over 40 Int.
This means a good progression route for Int-Sorcerer is -> Meteorite until +15 Upgrades then switch to Academy or Astrologer until 70 Int then switch to Regal or Crystal
Though the Crystal Staff is found very early and will be MUCH easier to upgrade until Mountaintops since Somber Stones are everywhere and because of that generally out perform the other staves so maybe just stick to that one.

Am I like having the Mandela effect right now or did this staff used to be shorter? I swear I'm trippin.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
wasnt this upgradeable at some point before? when did they change it?
- Anonymous
does the effect stack if you have two of them out at the same time... because if it does i'm wondering if that would out damage some of the higher ranked catalysts for gravity magic
- Anonymous
Does this boost gravitational magics in DLC like Gravitational Missile?
- Anonymous
at what int level does this stop being the best staff for gravity sorceries? i want to do a gravity themed sorcerer with the right staff. i won't accept "just dual wield with another staff bro" as an answer
- Anonymous
Its unfortunate that they made a staff that boosts a type of sorcery the “jump start” staff as a different commenter said. The Demi-Queen’s Staff would have been a better choice for that. Now gravity sorceries don’t have a boosting staff thats viable late game like many other sorcery school do
- Anonymous
Lord Miyazaki in the heavens, I just wish this thing had a strength scaling that would affect sorcery scaling kinda like the clawmark seal, Amen
- Anonymous
Because it doesn't match higher weapon upgrade and matches with +0, this is the strongest invasion tool for extreme low level trolling.
In other news, it's the best staff for chucking gravity wells if you're 20 int and using ruins GS, radahns, alabaster GS, meteoric ore, etc etc. for high str low int gravity melee builds.
- Anonymous
For anyone who wants the oversimplified answer, just think of the Meteorite Staff as being locked at around +15/+6 with a healthy bonus to gravity spells.
- Anonymous
Somehow stumbled onto this weapon within the first few hours on my first playthrough. Never played a souls game before and it carried me up until fire giant lmao
- Anonymous
*Equips tinfoil hat* gravity builds died for the sins of a playtester mage who couldn't get past Rennala
- Anonymous
I’m not complaining that it can’t be upgraded, it’s just strange that it’s the only weapon in the game that can’t be. Even a torch can be upgraded. Very bizarre for an item that’s just found on a corpse like any other.
- Anonymous
I feel like people complaining that it’s not upgradable are missing the point of why that’s both good and important. For sorcerers, you want to raise your stats as high as possible and as fast as possible. You care much more about getting Int to 80 than melee units care about it for their stats. So not having to spend runes for the first 1-2 bosses on upgrading your staff directly transfers to more Int. It also makes it easier to build melee weapons on top of casting.
In contrast with incantations, most incantations up through Limgrave aren’t doing damage. You don’t get lightning for a while, so the best you’ll have are some dragon incantations. So scaling your Talisman isn’t as important which is one reason Fth hybrid builds work so well. On the other hand, most Sorceries you get are for damage. You need to actually be able to deal damage with them.
There are melee equivalents to this (GUGS, Bloodhound Blade, Golden Halberd) that you can get before even reaching Godrick’s castle. At least for this, you have to survive the miserable roaches spamming webs while at level 5. And long-term, it’s outclassed. It’s just there as a jumpstart for mages who want to rely on spells for damage
- Anonymous
I like magic but this staff ruins the fun of leveling a weapon. It's the best staff you can get until +4 somber Lusat's, or +14 Academy for int scaling.
- Anonymous
Low level character with zero upgrades. Level 19 Astrologer all levels in INT. Use every INT boosting item. Dual wield two of this staff. Get Meteorite of Astel and Cerulean Hidden Tear. Low level co-op and surprise host with boss one shot to get a priceless reaction. Admittedly though, going through the game without upgrades at low level up to Astel is a high price.
- Anonymous
This thing does bonkers damage.
Even with 30 INT, I had enough damage output to kill dragons at Dragonbarrow with stuff like Carian Slicer with relative ease.
This will carry you all the way to the Altus Plateau in a spell blade build.
- Anonymous
does this boost cast speed at all like some of the other staffs?
- Anonymous
I was thinking of doing a Grandsax's bolt RL20 sunbro to impress the Limgrave players but the twink potential of this staff is just scary.
- Anonymous
I just wish the staff had slightly more embellishment in its design. I like it, but it does feel noticeably plain compared to the other staves in game.
- Anonymous
Yes, why not just give mages pre-upgraded +12 level staff which they can grab right from the start. As if mage gameplay is not easy enough already. But of course, there is no way this is an early game thing, complaining that newcomers won't ever find it by themselves until reaching midgame stage is ridiculous
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Sucks that this thing doesnt boost the Gravitas ash of war on the Meteorite Ore Blade. That combination makes for a nice Gravity Samuari (Yasha)
- Anonymous
great if ur a melee main like me but wanna yeet some rocks once a while
- Anonymous
as a melee main I like using this as a ranged option since I don't have to spend stones or make ammo for it, and that +30% dmg is pretty good. Use it with cold infusion or native int weapon for best results.
- Anonymous
Idiotic that this is a great early game staff but a first-time player will probably not find it until much later in the story as it's in the middle of one of the most dangerous areas in the game and already obsolete if you're at an appropriate level to actually explore it safely.
- Anonymous
I hate that this ugly stick destroys sorcerer progression early game and is useless late game, I refuse to use it out of principle. The stats of this staff are genuinely baffling, why is this the ONE weapon out of hundreds that cant be upgraded making it op early game and also not filling the gravity sorcerer niche late game
- Anonymous
How do pvp calculate the level of this weapon? Did it count as level 1 or level 25 or all level?
- Anonymous
doubling up on this staff is corny at low level. definitely get one dropped or use collectors edition if you get the chance
- Anonymous
For purely gravity spells, would this be the best staff to use regardless of int level?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It would be great if the staff was there, along with several other items that are gone since the patch!
- Anonymous
double meteor staff at low/mid level is insane for damage output
- Anonymous
If anyone was wondering, from the information I've gathered, this counts as a +0 as far as weapon level matchmaking is concerned.
- Anonymous
If you don't use gravity sorceries, you should switch to the Academy Glinstone Staff once you can upgrade it +14 or more. It will be a straight upgrade for damage output.
- Anonymous
Ok bellow me I spoke to soon, after reading the Carian Glintstone staff page, my bad XD.
- Anonymous
This Staff has the highest scaling out of all the staffs, OP am I right.
- Anonymous
It would be great if you could upgrade this staff and it scaled with both Strength and Intelligence, it would be very useful for big strong nerdy boys
- Anonymous
At 41 int (when Academy Glinstone Staff passes Demi-human) the Academy Glinstone staff and Demi-Human surpass it when upgraded past +14 from my testing (note: I did not take into account the 10% gravity bonus, but result will still be similar anyway).
Basically, at 41 int and stave upgrades past +14 you should start using a better staff and keeping the Meteorite staff in your offhand if you still want the bonus and don't mind duel wielding. Let me know if my clacs are wrong, they're likely a little off.
- Anonymous
even though I'm using sorceries as a side weapon along with Wing of Astel, they still do more damage because all of my damage sorceries are gravity. should I just go full caster?
- Anonymous
paired meteor staffs can be pretty absurd at low level, regularly oneshotting people with full charged gravity well at 45+8
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
This thing is absolutely busted. My friends and I are playing a seamless co-op no upgrades run and one of my friends went running off and picked this up to use. Now I know why hes melting everything despite no upgrades. Damn thing is already maxxed out.
"Hurr hurr its cuz it has S scaling" I knew that mf was lying on a technicality.
- Anonymous
This thing absolutely destroys in PvP at low level, with the right equipment I have over 60 int at rl 30 and one shot everyone
- Anonymous
Its weird this staff cant be upgrade, i mean of the hundreds of equipable weapons, shields, staffs, seals, everything!, this is the only thing in the game you can not upgrade.
- Anonymous
It says sorceries, but does this boost apply to things such as Alabaster Lords' Pull or Gravitas too?
- Anonymous
why does this staff even exist? it just serves to make every other early game staff completely obsolete
- Anonymous
Is it worth using simultaneously two Meteoric Staves in a Gravity Spells only run, or is it better to pair with a stronger staff? I'm not sure, since two Meteoric Staves should boost Gravity Spells by 60%
- Anonymous
Please offhand this staff and use Carian Regal Scepter people!!! The amount of players that use this exclusively and level to high intelligence hurts my head. This staff is only good for buffing gravity sorceries. Why ruin your damage just to make those spells 30% better, except you can still use a better staff and gain the bonus regardless. The only time it is acceptable to use this staff is on low level builds as it starts out as the best.
- Anonymous
The Dragon Seal is more op and u can get it just as early, sure you gotta upgrade it a little bit but you can get it to +2 just by helping Blaidd and picking up the +1 somber from the scarab by golden vow AoW. Dragon Seal is where it is at if you TRULY want to be an op caster early on. Sprint to Frenzy Burst and then go get Ekzykes Decay, GG EZ
- Anonymous
If you equip two staves, it boosts gravity sorceries cast with the other staff by 25%.
- Anonymous
Anyone know if it boosts gravity sorceries in the offhand while another hand uses another staff?
- Anonymous

this thing carried me till late game. Pretty broken for how early you can get it
- Anonymous
This staff can't be upgraded? That's weird. Do gravity mages just use Lusat's Staff in late-game?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
best staff in the game because you can just focus on upgrading your weapon instead.
- Anonymous
The only S scaling weapon in the whole game that i can use on a lvl 14 pvp build against others with 0+ upgrades. 300 carian slicer damage with 52 dex casting speed... ya nothing op to see here.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
honestly would have preferred this staff to be a strength/int scaling staff to fit with the gravity sorceries, similar to the beastmark seal and bestial incantations. Still, a great staff for early to mid game
- Anonymous
I'm honestly surprised that they went down the no upgrade path instead of making it's Sorcery Scaling scale off of both Strength and Intelligence. The reason that I say this is that all of the weapons with innate Gravity skills (Meteoric Ore Blade, Alabaster Lord's Sword, Onyx Lord's Greatsword, Fallingstar Beast Jaw, Starscourge Greatsword) are all Strength oriented Intelligence weapons that deal more physical damage than magic damage at even Strength/Intelligence. The existence of the Clawmark Seal proves that they could have done it.
Sure you'd have to nerf the boost that it gives to Gravity sorceries and it would be useless on most Intelligence builds, but it would complement the 5 Gravity weapons as I'll call them very well. However Meteorite of Astel would need to have the Intelligence requirement lowered a bit to around 45 Int to make it work better with this Staff if that was the case.
- Anonymous
This is the best staff for gravity sorceries up to 70 INT then the Carian regal takes over, and yes I know you can offhand this staff with a better scaling staff for a bigger boost but not everyone ants to dual wield staves
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It claims to be outclassed by staffs at higher int levels, but that requires upgrading those staffs to VERY high levels, even at 60 Int, it still outclasses a +6 Carian Regal Scepter, 244 to 237, and doesn't need the rune ro smithing stone cost to upgrade. Once you have this, you should just keep using it until you beat at least the Fire Giant, but keeping it as far as Radagon is still a good move.
It also powers up Rock Sling which can be found nearby, which is boosted by 30%, meaning even if you have a staff with higher scaling (like the aformentioned staff) it still won't do as much damage as it doesn't get this boost. Did I mention Rock Sling is one of the few sorceries that can stun enemies, so you can get more slings off while they're stunned? It's also very cheap on FP.
This thing is RIDICULOUSLY op in PVE, no other staff is worth having AT ALL until you have 60 Int and Lusat's to start Comet Azuring people. This, which you can pick up in probably under 10 minutes of starting the game by getting Torrent and simply riding into east Aeonia can easily still be your best staff going into Radagon+EB.
- Anonymous
When you apply that 30% bonus to the spell buff itself, the only staves that are stronger are those requiring 50 INT and above, like Lusat... and you also need to upgrade those. Definitely the best staff for mage-only runs, the QoL of not having to upgrade it is felt for the whole run.
- Anonymous
Pity incantation users don't have talisman equivalent of this. This item absolutely carries sorcerers to the mid-game and beyond with Rock Sling.
- Anonymous
the beauty of this is not its powerful but rock sling is, with its curve shooting and great range.
do anyone know how much Sol scale can make up the 30% buff
- Anonymous
They should reduce this stave's scaling and make it upgradeable to bring it in line with the other staves early game. As it is now there in NO reason to use any other staff until +14 upgrade. This would also mean that it would be good late game when using gravity spells.
- Anonymous
This item shouldn't exist as it is in its current state, it makes all other staves irrelevant until you can acquire 6 Smithing stone 5s. They should nerf its current scaling and make it upgrade so that it fills the niche of being the gravity magic staff and no the early game staff which should be filled by the demihuman queen staff instead.
- Anonymous
Demi human staff is also easy to aquire, and becomes better very early after just few upgrades if you want to keep your int low in the early stages of the game. So this staff is not OP.
- Anonymous
Early game this is amazing but I kind of wish it had a purpose end game outside of offhanding to boost gravity magics. If this scaled with Str better end game I would love to do a Str/Int build focused solely on gravity magics.
- Anonymous
Saw some dude saying this needs to be nerfed.
An un-upgradable, early game usage staff that only boosts gravity sorceries. Nothing op about it, just a good staff.
- Anonymous
If planning a mage run, get this staff (and rock sling) asap. A little scary/frustrating going through Caelid the first time, but totally worth the effort.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The nearest site of grace is “Aeonia Swamp Shore” directly north of there hugging the cliff side. Also they are rot flowers not poison flowers.
- Anonymous
literally the best staff in the game and you dont even have to upgrade it lmao, comes out of the box with S int scaling
- Anonymous
Amazing for twinking hosts with overleveled summons in limgrave :^)
- Anonymous
My Carian Regal Scepter finally got better than this with 60 int and upgraded to +7. This staff is absolutely insane for sorcerers up until late game.
- Anonymous
I didn’t find the staff in the small room on dead guy while playing on the ps4. Has anyone else have this problem and any ideas where else the staff can be at?
- Anonymous
Fromsoft just lost the chance of making this the single strength-intelligence scaling staff to instead make an unupgradable staff that makes all other staffs obsolete up to a very late stage of the game, congratulations.
- Anonymous
Is this even good with just 18int? What's the Sor Scaling of having the meteor rod with just 18int?
- Anonymous
If I wanna play around gravity magic, should i keep this staff all the game through since it buffs gravity magic? or does some other maxed staff beat it? and by how much? lusat's doesn't count imo cuz it consumes additional fp
- Anonymous
Best staff in the game hands down. yeah other staffs will eventually out damage it but god damn they need like 50-60 int to use so if u wanna run around 70% of the game with all your stats in int and let everything one shot you then there's better staffs for that. But if you want to actually survive fights whilst still doing good damage, having a decent equip load, having high fp,hp and sp whilst having a good weapon as a side arm that's highly upgraded then always pick this bad boy up
- Anonymous
Will still out damage an Academy +25 if both are using rock sling
- Anonymous
I have the staff and 18 intelligence and is equiped to my left hand but I can't cast any spells with it, he just scratches his head. What do I need to do to be able to cast spell
- Anonymous
From 24 Int to 40 Int with data points goes from 153 to 193
So formula is something like : 150 + 2,5*Int (linear regression)
- Anonymous
I have staff equipped and have 18 intelligence but I can't cast the spell, why?
Does this count as an upgraded weapon for matchmaking? and if so what upgrade level roughly?
- Anonymous
say 60 int and with other staffs upgraded to at least +24/+9, is this staff still worth it if I just want to use it off hand for Rock Sling? or should I just use Regal Scepter at this point
Hey I cant find it, I went to the same location and everything but the dead body wasn't there, mind you Im playing the offline 1.0 version of the game, is there any difference?
