Digger's Staff is a Glintstone Staff in Elden Ring. The Digger's Staff scales primarily with Intelligence and Strength and is a good Weapon for boosting the power of Stonedigger sorceries. The stats of this weapon include Sorcery Scaling which shows the degree which sorceries increase in power.
Staff of a sorcerer-miner who extracts glintstone from crystal tunnels. The staff itself is a tool used to mine, and the ferrule is also embedded with a glintstone.

Please see the Upgrades page to understand the weapon bolstering process.
Requires regular reinforcement with Smithing Stone [1], Smithing Stone [2], Smithing Stone [3], Smithing Stone [4], Smithing Stone [5], Smithing Stone [6], Smithing Stone [7], Smithing Stone [8], and Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
Sorcery Scaling is based on Int stat. The Int of the the character with the staff equipped at the time of posting the Sor Scaling is located in the (Int) to the right of the scaling amount. This will help to give a general idea of what staves are better at various Int levels until MAX is achieved.
This upgrade can't be enchanted with Magic or boosted with Consumables. The Sorcery Scaling displayed on this table shows Minimum Requirement and Intelligence 80 as xx-yy.

Its sad that the Megumin staff has such a limited use and none of the spells it boosts remotely resemble an explosion.
Yeah, I mean. Its cool and all... but.. the scaling... ugh. It boosts only 2 spells in the entire game. I really wish the bonus was smaller and the scaling higher. Maybe a little less than academy staff and a 10% to digger spells. There is literally no point in using this staff. It is one of the better looking ones tho. I really dig the curved top with the crystal in it. It's pretty, but useless
- Anonymous
This needs to be the STR/INT counterpart to the Bestial Seal. That would be pretty sweet
- Anonymous
Not sure about Shatter Earth, but Rock Blaster is a pretty solid damage-dumping spell so you could keep this on swap for your offhand (or whatever hand isn't used for casting spells) to whip out whenever you're blasting someone with your actual main staff.

so are there any points at which this outperforms other staffs with certain stat attributions, or is its main selling point just that it boosts stone digger sorceries?
- Anonymous
If ur lookin to use digger spells with the base requirements, heres ur staff i guess

Tested. This can be dual wielded to boost the stone diggers spells by 40% rather than 20%.
- Anonymous
Between this and the Meteorite staff, there was a missed opportunity to have a split strength/intelligence staff as a counterpart to the Beastclaw seal
- Anonymous
Seems to be outperformed by the Demi-Human Queen staff in almost every way aside from the 2 spell boosts.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
A missed opportunity to have a staff with a spellbuff scaling off strength. Then maybe people would actually use the stonedigger sorceries
- Anonymous
Staff also boosts Comet Azur. This+CA+WP flask with 0 FP cost and magic dmg booster+Terra Magica = bossmelter intergalactic laser.
- Anonymous
But how would this work on a battle mage type of character, as this one has the highest str scaling? I'm aiming for roughly 40 str/30 int.
- Anonymous
Unfortunately due to this staff only boosting two spells, and both of those spells are relatively not good, it's not really recommended to use if you're wanting to treat PvE or PvP seriousy.
However, if you're wanting to RP as a crystal miner and go around using those two spells and throwing glintstone rocks at players while you invade them in mine dungeons? This is your best bet.

hi my punctuation sucks first off and so does my spelling. stone digger staff isnt the best staff on the game just to let you guys know to be honest until we see more spells that have to do with the family its actually quite bad. never upgrade it as of the current version. the absolutely best staff in the game scaling wise is the prince of death staff just to let yall know. lusats and azur (both poor staffs imo, im a pvper i value not spending 50% more on my spells) before u can properly scale with prince of death. before then just get a astrologers staff and save ur smithing stones.oh and one last thing comet azur as of this version can only be scaled with azurs helm/lusats staff equpment wise so not really sure what this spiffing brit mentioned is on about but he was probably misinformed like alot of other people.lets just be sure guys to do a lil testing and clean up the wiki! i feel like fromsoft games are unclear when it comes to stuff to bring the community together on figuring these things out bahaha corny arnt i? anyways good luck fellow tarnished.

Y'all just make stuff up, huh?
It doesn't boost any of the glintstone shard tree (pebble, swift shard, great shard, cometshard, comet, azur comet)
Tested with Digger spellbuff 160 and Staff of Loss spellbuff 162. If Digger boosted any of those sorceries, they would be higher than loss, and they were not. Case closed on that tree.
Maybe whoever adds this stuff to the wiki can actually do a 3 minute test next time for crying out loud.
- Anonymous
Comet of Azur is listed as possibly being boosted by this staff. I just tested it by offhanding it and casting at the same enemy multiple times, and then casting without it being offhanded. The damage was the same. The passive buff does not affect Comet of Azur.
- Anonymous
Does the STR scaling only effect R2 staff hits, or do I get STR scaling for spells?
- Anonymous
Based on how the sorceries are categorized in the inventory, it would seem that glintstone pebble and the like would be boosted by this staff. The stonedigger sorcerers use pebble

So for yall who've been coming here hearing it's the best staff: It is not!
The staves you wanna have a look at for int. based sorceries are the three following:
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Azur's+Glintstone+Staff boosts casting speed at the cost of more fp.
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Lusat's+Glintstone+Staff boosts dmg. at the cost of more fp.
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Carian+Regal+Scepter overall good spellbuff without any downside.
Also FYI the spellbuff cap. for this game is at a wooping 80 int!
It should be noted that “enhances Stone Digger sorceries” is a bit of an understatement. This staff practically super charges Rock Blaster and Shatter Earth, although there are still better options. Unfortunately, due to how the spells themselves work this staff is mostly relegated to being a cosmetic option as neither spell is particularly exceptional compared to other spells. Yes, they both have AoE and Rock Blaster can hit multiple times but, they’re relatively high cost spells, slower than most others and (impo) fairly niche. A slight change in casting speed and mild buff in cost would change that I think. Hopefully we get lucky and get more SD spells in the future if/when a DLC drops.

at 70 int this staff at +16 has about 30 lower sorc scaling than Regal at +7, both at S Int - using glintstone pebbel to test, Regal still hits harder (about 50 more damage on the mob I tested with)
Each upgrade after +16 doesn't seem to boost digger staff much anymore, so Diggers staff honestly doesn't seem like the best staff to me...
Think the best option would prob be to cast with Regal and hold digger's on the off-hand to get the passive bonus, but in that case you don't even need to upgrade diggers staff, just hold onto it on the off-hand to benefit from the passive
- Anonymous
I am curious what it looks like at +25. Stonedigger spells seem to include cannon/comet of azur and all the glintstone spells/terra magicus, or the information is incorrect on the wiki. Just trying to plan between the Carian Regal Scepter or another for general use. I know Lusat's staff will outperform them all on paper but would need to change setups or gear to deal with the 50% FP cost increase.
Man, I hope this thing gets a slight buff. I mean not like actually best staff in the game stuff. More like a bit better scaling than the starter staff. I absolutely love the design of this one and I think it was a real bummer to see, it's actually worse than my starter stick. And it's boost passive is actually really niche, so...
- Anonymous
its the best staff if you use digger sorcs like the rock throw and stuff
its like old soul games where ''dark spells boost'' etc on certain staff
demi is better if your not throwing rocks at people basically
- Anonymous
why do i even bother visiting this page.. it's full of misinformation.. best staff?
- Anonymous
You can get this off any of the diggers both mining and wandering. I’ve killed well over 300 hundred of them at this point.
- Anonymous
This is actually a great first staff you can get relatively early on. I tackled it at level 18 as a confessor, but it can probably be done at lower levels. First, read the entry here on Fextralife on the Sellia Crystal Tunnels. Use the info to trigger the trapped chest, and especially read the info for getting to the grace, so you can rest. I found that I could easily sneak the entire way to the grace, but running like hell will get you there. The miners are blind, the only thing you need to worry about is a bug-like creature that shoots homing missiles.
Once you get to the grace, you can rest, go back up the ladder, and farm the nearest miners. You'll become a good judge of how far in you can get before triggering the bug creature. I was able to farm the closest 2 at the bottom (not the 3rd uphill though), and then walking back up the path, I could take out the next 2 also before having to turn back and rest.
Blunt weapons are a must if using melee, but for me, I solely relied on the Flames of Frenzy spell (also easy to get if you have a horse).
It took me roughly 40 kills to get the staff to drop. But these guys are also great for runes. Worth around 400 per kill, so I also gained a few levels. Totally worth it if you want a staff but didn't start with one.

An FYI for everyone, it drops off the guys with a staff that patrol around, not the weaker guys just digging.

Anyone have any idea on why the Digger's is considered the best staff?
A +6 Digger's Staff has a sorcery scaling of 154, a +6 Demi-Human Queen's Staff has a scaling of 166.
Attribute scaling for both staffs are identical, D for Str, B for Int.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I farmed this staff. My game says the spell scaling is 127, making it worse than demigod staff
- Anonymous
I think wiki editors thought this would affect glintstone spells, which it does NOT affect them. It's hard to say it's the best because the sorc scaling is lower than other candidates. I wouldn't waste my time with this one unless specializing in Stonedigger sorcery.
- Anonymous
As far as testing goes on my end i've found only shatter earth and earth blaster are affected by this passive effect, none of the glintstone sorceries bolts seem to be affected
Finally got this thing to drop. Mine came off of one of the miners in the room you get teleported into and he was the only one not actually mining, he just patrols up and down the ramp. Probably about 50 total kills to get mine.

Drops off diggers in sellia crystal tunnel. I killed about 30 before getting a drop. Seems to be a lower rate.
To anyone interested, this Staff will always be outclassed by another Staff, whether its Demi-human or Academy's unless you factor in the sorcery bonus to spells. With 40 int which is basically the level Demi-human Queen's Staff excels at, the stats are 235 compared to the Diggers 211 and with Academy's Glintstone Staff at 60 int it's 304 to Diggers 271. Its best to dual wield these just note, at 80 int lusats and this in the off-hand outdamages (damage to fp consumption not considered) 536 to 515- otherwise this dual wielded is perfect for its niche.
