Smithscript Shield is a Small Shield in Elden Ring. It is a brand new Small Shield in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The Smithscript Shield is a Shield that scales primarily with Strength,  Intelligence and Faith. Small Shields usually weigh very little and has the least form of protection from attacks. They are often used by players who prefer Parrying rather than Blocking. Its lighter weight also makes it ideal for quick, agile characters with low equipment weight capacity..

Where to Find Smithscript Shield in Elden Ring

The Smithscript Shield Shield can be found at the following location:

  • Can be found in: Taylew's Ruined Forge (north of Ancient Ruins Base), on a corpse inside the forge. Jump from the opening left to the Lever, and instead of heading forward turn left. There are two Smithing Golems there, one that uses fire. Once defeated, stick to the right and go up to the upper platform using the crumbled column. You will find the item at the end of the hallway. Smithscript Shield Upgrades in Elden Ring

Requires regular reinforcement with Smithing Stone [1], Smithing Stone [2], Smithing Stone [3], Smithing Stone [4], Smithing Stone [5], Smithing Stone [6], Smithing Stone [7], Smithing Stone [8], and Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

This upgrade can be enchanted with Magic or boosted with Consumables.

      Needs to be nerfed specifically for pvp, leave it alone in pve. FP cost is ridiculous for the damage it deals

        This currently seems bugged and applies mainhand buffs to the ash of war. Yes, that includes RKR without consuming it. You can hit for over 2000.

          So, we find a throwable shield (Captain America's), a throwable hammer (that looks like Mjolnir) and a throwable axe (Stormbreaker) in the same dungeon.

          DID ELDEN RING JUST DROP A REFERENCE TO AVENGERS: ENDGAME?!

            This shield's range needs a nerf, I've watched pvp players far more skilled and practiced then me getting spanked by somebody spamming the throw. The damage isn't an issue, its the fact that it goes out so fast and hard to see that its near impossible to dodge skillfully. And after trying it out with a friend, we feel for those who have to fight this. It really just looks like somebody threw this into the sky and it blipped out of view until I suddelny get health drop. At first, some think that the person is using a throwing knife. That's just how weirdly hard to see this is when its used on u.

              This will apply buildup for basically any status your main hand weapon is currently buffed with (greases, ash of war status buffs etc.).
              Including:

              Frost
              Bleed
              Poison
              Rot
              Sleep
              Deathblight

              I did not test Blackflame, so I can't say it will add a hp drain too.
              From what my "test subjects" (I traded them items they wanted and they paid me with sitting there and let me hit them.) told me Frost might be the most effective buildup, quote "like a sixth of the buildup bar". While all other statuses had like "an eighth" of the status bar.

              For PvE I did not test that much. The giant near the Secluded Cell site of grace in stormveil fell asleep after TWO ranged hits, which imo is very good considering how spammable the shields ash of war is.

                This can double hit btw, if you are close to the target the initial throw will also do dmg, not as much as the projectile but still...

                  For the Captain America build, make sure to put Dryleaf Arts in your main hand (no clue what AoW for them though)

                    HUGE discovery I just made, chilling mist on your main hand weapon gives frost buildup on this thing when thrown! Not only is this thing fast cheap to use and strong, now you can also freeze from afar!

                      The FP cost on this shield's ash of war is WAY too low, especially since the damage is solid. You get more FP efficiency out of this shield than literally any spell in the game.

                        This thing is OP for 3 FP??? use ancestral horn talisman and you can infinitely spam it on trash mobs and one shot

                          The animation for this is kind of disappointing. Once thrown it despawns and respawns in your hand. They already have a discus incantation that returns to us, this should return to us in the same way.

                            Surprisingly good weapon. Does more damage than uncharged Smithscript Greathammer, but less than a charged one. Has a bit less range. But comes out much faster, and you can spam it.

                              Monster in pvp, the animation is so low commitment and it pretty much always finds its target so it beats any action other than dodge your opponent throws out. I love this thing, chunky damage with the talisman.
