this absolute chad. i was planning on only using him until i got rollo, thought "oh this guys a melee guy to fight with me until i get a better one".
cut to me and my homie just WWE tag teaming every damn boss in the game. he takes aggro when i need a heal, then i get right back in the moshpit with him. always next to me at the end, usually not even half health.

the ****in goat. hes not even the right level for where i am, and he still kicks ass.

This guy's the ultimate badass. Walks around with sword on his shoulder until he gets a whiff of action, and then he's off, screaming his head off, pounding into the ground whatever poor bastard decided to come our way.

I swear he's too pissed to die, love this dude

I only picked him up for this playthrough because of roleplay reasons but... Holy **** this dude is out for blood, he's crazy! Dude solod a whole Radahn army contigent. He cleared all of Sellia by himself, I could barely keep up. I mean this, he will not follow you, you will follow him, dude just does not stop. Wonder how far I'll manage to go with him, he's so fun.

I love these guys and their battle cry, sounding like they've got a mouthful of Spaghetti whenever doing it.

I missed this spirit ash my first playthrough (and the catacombs ... go figure). I found him about a month ago and, wow, I wish I'd know about him sooner. This isn't the most powerful or greatest spirit ash in Elden Ring. If you're looking for something to just hand your boss fight to, you'll probably want something else. But this guy is awesome for grabbing agro and at double teaming a boss with you, the player. I let him grab agro, then I move around and attack from the rear. When agro switches back to me, I back off, roll away, and let him grab it again. Sometimes we can back and forth the boss so much that they are completely confused. But beware: you will need to do damage, too, most of the time. I've used him throughout Liurnia and Caelid with solid success. I wish we got him earlier in the game.

Definitely underrated, this guy carries a curved greatsword which means he does high stance damage and can flinch/interrupt boss attack animations with his heavy attacks. If you don't have the stats to summon something like Lhutel, Engvall or Oleg in the early game, this guy can fill that role very well. He's very aggressive, hits pretty hard with stagger potential and is constantly in his target's face, he doesn't back down or run away.

This dude doesn't have a huge health bar, poise meter, or DPS output. What he does have, however, is a lifetime supply of Crazy Juice flowing through his veins. Bro is always chasing and attacking, only stopping to scream in the face of whatever he just laid out across the floor. Will knock humanoid bosses down like they weigh 5 stone. Constantly buffing himself for high-ish burst damage. Pulls aggro better than banished knights just because he doesn't spend half the fight whiffing attacks like they do. Solid, honest 8/10 summon. I let him loose in the cavern of mohgwyn palace once. By the time I went to get a drink and sit back down, he'd massacred every blood noble that spawned, and was halfway through soloing the horde of blood zombies. The absolute strongest machete hobo in the lands between

                  • I find it weird that this calls him the "strongest of the summons", as if he was universally agreed to be the very best, when all the "top X" lists I've read or seen recently either don't include him or put him much lower down. Obviously "best" is a matter of opinion, playstyle, and taste, although there are a few that seem to be pretty universally agreed on as being on top (mimic tear, obviously, and then tiche are the two I see mentioned most often, by far). But I don't have the impression that this Sellsword dude is considered top tier by most players (although he might be decent enough for the early stage of the game you probably get him at -- unless you already have someone better, which you very well might). The wiki should really be changed so it's not just reflecting one person''s (weird ***) opinion.

I've seen this guy stagger and even knock down Crucible Knights where my attacks didn't even make them flinch, the maddest of lads

                      • Anonymous

Very strong in early game, +0 Kaiden Mercenary ash can almost solo the black knife assassin in Limgrave. But the growth potential for this spirit is lower than others, and this dude become fragile and weak when your spirit summons reaches +10 level. You may want to save a great glove wort for other stronger nameless spirit summons at that point.

Don't sleep on the Sellsword, he's much better than you'd think.

His warcry has a minor stagger effect which works best on adds, his sweeps are wide and have decent damage (and decently fast too), his HP is... actually a little below average for single tank summons (his damage mitigation is better than some though), and he's all around a solid summon that isn't used often because you can get Lhutel and Engvall earlier.

This man yolos into Draconic Tree Sentinel and dies immediately to his hammer. Would summon again for comedic relief.

Really good for bosses that can be knocked down. If you're struggling with Rennala phase 2, this guy will basically win the fight for you. Solid damage for an early spirit, definitely worth using until you get hold of the special ashes like Rollo.

If you're looking for best ashes than omenkiller Rollo, mimic tear, dragonknight Kristoff, and a couple more are definitely better ashes. I prefer omenkiller for the seriously huge damage per swing (duel wields) and the bleed effect, combined with one seriously tankiness and extreme aggression. Give him a try

The wiki description claims he is the strongest of summons, but I wonder how he compares HP and DPS wise versus Lhutel the Headless who costs nearly 20 FP more to summon.

                                  • Anonymous

He is pretty good for when you can get him, and his fp cost isn't too extreme compared to some of the other buff summons. I like to use him until I can pick up the mimic.
