Summons spirits of Jolán and Anna

Jolán and Anna is a Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. It is a brand-new Spirit in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLCJolán and Anna summons two powerful Swordhands of Night, which employ a sword and claws to attack.

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirits of Jolán and Anna. Spirits of two Swordhands of Night, one of them being possessed by Count Ymir's doll Anna. Together, Jolán's sword and Anna's claws are as bottomless black, and penetrate the enemy's guard. Jolán and Anna were born in a cold, dark gaol, where they were raised, deprived of light, to be Swordhands of Night. Thus were they cultivated to become the most terrifying masters of their blades, though the burden of the deed left their hearts frail and pliant.

Where to find Jolán and Anna

Where to Find Jolán and Anna

  • Jolán and Anna are accessed by interacting with the puppet body of Anna at the secret top part of Rabbath's Rise while in the possession of Swordhand of Night Jolán
  • To acquire the spirit summon of Jolán, you must complete the questline of Count Ymir, and give Jolán the Iris of Grace at the end.
  • To get to Anna's puppet body afterwards, you must come from the side of Scaduview (closest grace would be the Hinterland site of grace) and head to the Shaman Village, from there you will find a pathway at the back of the village, travelling down the cliffside, leading to a secret top part of Rabbath's Rise. Here you will find her puppet body, where you will be asked to combine the spirits together, claiming this spirit summon.

Elden Ring Jolán and Anna Guide

  • Jolan and Anna is exclusive to Shadow of the Erdtree, and cannot be obtained in the base game.
  • Costs 144 FP
  • By examining Anna's puppet body after combining them into the new Spirit ash you can undo the combination and be left with only Jolán's Spirit ash.
  • (POSSIBLE BUG NEEDS TESTING) Upgrading Jolán's solo ash before combining them may lead to the duo Ash being considerably weaker in Damage and Health. It's recommended to avoid upgrading Jolán in their solo ash before if you intend to combine them into one.
  • NOTE: By examining Anna's puppet body after combining them into the new Spirit ash you can undo the combination and be left with only Jolan's Spirit ash.

been a while since i've seen a description cut off before finishing due to so many words, not since dark souls 2 in fact

      • Anonymous

Something is definitely up with them. I got them to +10 and saw an attack do 94 damage against Gaius with like +6 to my spirit boost

        • Anonymous

I don't have very much FP so I can just barely afford to summon Jolan, if you get her sister is there any way to go back to just Jolan?

          • Anonymous

i gave her the grace and missed the puppet my first playthrough, can i still do it while getting the weapon this playthrough?

            • Anonymous

How canI read the full item description on this? Mine just says "left their hearts frail and" and then it stops. (PS5)

              • Maybe I just got lucky or the bug got fixed, but they've been quite decent for me (I think I'm at Revered +7). I just used them against Romina and they both lasted until she was around 35% HP. I did have aggro most of the time, but they were really useful when I needed to back up and use my flasks. Definitely kept the boss busy. They are a bit squishy, but this might be by design since there's two of them.

I thought this quest and the characters were very cool overall so it's great having the option to 'recruit' them. Gives me the excuse to use them for the sake of immersion instead of just admitting I'm a total noob that desperately needs summons.

                • i combined them and then upgraded and they seem pretty weak and take a lot of damage. anna didn't survive going through the camp before shadow keep. they're cool, though. i like twin summons, like the nightmaiden & swordstress puppets. hopefully they get a buff in a future patch.

definitely bugged due to their attack and hp being low despite having high revered ash level and being +10. tbh, otherwise fantastic due to high attack speed, aggression, and consistent bleed application. just fix the bug and theyre golden.

There’s zero chance this is intended I upgraded them to +9 (didn’t want to waste a +10 without testing) and they’re absurdly weak without the bleed the deal less damage than if I just threw rocks at bosses not even DLC bosses just standard bosses in the base game they struggle a lot with (I didn’t upgrade the original and it’s still bugged) Buff them or sum

Seem bugged, they dont do any damage outside of bleed procs and I specifically did not upgrade Jolan when I got her after reading the reports. I even took them back to limgrave to test and it took them a good minute to clear a camp at +10

                        • Anonymous

I did not upgrade the original and they still are absurdly weak at +10. They would be completely useless if not for bleed, and then you might as well use mimic summon with a bleed build...

                          • Anonymous

I think these two are bugged. They have staggering low Hp compared to weaker summons and deal very little damage.

I'm inclined to think the revenant boost does not apply to them

                            • Anonymous

pretty sure the bug has nothing to do with upgrading jolan before combining them, i combined then upgraded them and theyre doing pretty bad damage

                              • Anonymous

If you interact with the puppet again you have the option to remove Anna from the ashes and get the solo Jolan ash back if you so desire.

Sigh, why is it that every int user in the story has to be a sicko who brainwashes people to have sex with them?

Tested with friends, seems like a current bug -- DO NOT upgrade Jolan's solo ash first, or it will bug this one and result in a hopelessly weak ash. IDK if it's guaranteed to happen, but I didn't upgrade, a friend did, and my ash is drastically stronger.

                                    • Anonymous

So THATS why Jolan is so weak compared to other NPC ashes, she's secretly part of a duo ash. That's actually pretty cool

                                      • Anonymous

I thought "oh my god they look so tiny!", then I realized they're the same size as the player character. You never realize how much smaller you are compared to enemies until times like these.

That aside, they GO HAM on enemies. They also bleed, guard, spam that multi-hit ash of war, destroy the guards of blocking enemies and seem to gang up together on one enemy.

Upgraded them to +10 and they seem really weak? I'm not sure why but they struggled with even basic mobs in a village, maybe a bug?

                                          • Anonymous

People say there pretty weak but when I fight with them they become almost and essential for fight bosses the bleed procs are insane with both range and close combat options makes them great for any boss overall a must have vary fun

                                            • Anonymous

if you upgrade Jolan to +10 first, they appear to be broken. They are doing really low damage and dying very fast

                                              • Anonymous

Online videos showing the new spirit ashes these appear to be significantly stronger than any existing spirit ash in base game or other new ones in DLC. They're fast, very aggressive, great range of attacks, not squishy, and do tons of damage. Videos showed them almost solo killing bosses without player help where other ashes could barely do 25% of the boss' health before dying against Rellana.

                                                • Dlc dilemma, stay loyal to tiche and use sword of night and chilling perfume, or go crazy with another int/dex weapon and the duo summons. Which should I do (also can these two dodge)
